REPORT OF THE RESOLUTION COMMITTEE
Resolution 1.—Whereas, it hath pleased Almighty God who is rich and abundant in mercy to grant to us another great camp meeting, wherein we have felt so much of the presence of the Fioly Ghost that our hearts have been signally blest, the slain of the Lord have been many, we are determined in our souls to be true till Jesus comes. Therefore, be it resolved that we show our gratitude for this by rising and singing the Doxology.
Resolution 2—Whereas, in these last days of compromise on the part of the leaders of the Church. God bath favored the Pilgrim Holiness Church with such a General Superintendent as Rev. W. R. Cox, whose love for God, wisdom and ability shown in carrying on the work of the Lord, and un-tiring efforts to lay for the church a foundation that will result in a veritable harvest of souls, will find the Church ready and mature for the coming of the Lord,
Whereas, under the heavy burden of the work, we have noted the beautiful spirit of Christ emanating from his life;
Therefore be it resolved that we show in sonic measure our appreciation by giving him a rising vote of thanks and pledge ourselves to pray for him, co-operate with him in every undertaking for the Church that God may lay upon his heart, urging him to be true until Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, the Bishop of our souls may come.
Resolution 3.—Whereas, God hath favored us again with the efficient work of our State Superintendent, Rev. A. M. Ewing, whose holy life and sound counsel we do appreciate; that we by a rising vote of thanks show our appreciation, pledging to him also our prayers and should he be re-elected as State Superintendent by God's help we will be good preachers and co-operate with him in the State work.
Resolution 4—Resolved that we extend to the whole Pilgrim Holiness family at Frankfort, md., the many friends our heartfelt thanks for the most cordial w'ay that you have entertained us during the Assembly, the hospitality shown us which has added much to our happiness. May God's richest blessing ever rest upon you.
Resolution 5--Whereas, there is a tendency to lower the standard of Christian faith and doctrine from the pulpits of our land, this destroying the foundation of our faifh, the fundamental principles of the teaching of the Word of God;
V\Thereas, the pulpit it always a popular educator, the teaching becomes the basis of doctrinal belief to a certain extent in every community;
Whereas, the mission of the pulpit is the same as it has ever been. It is the divinely appointed instrument of the world's evangelization;
Therefore, be it resolved that with no uncertain sound we will declare the w'hole counsel of God. We boldly take our stand for the inspiration of the Word of God, the virgin birth of Jesus, resurrection and general judgment, announcing our belief in a personal devil and the awful effects of sin upon a wholly depraved race, universal redemption, justification by faith, regenera-tion, entire sanctification as a second definite work of God's grace in the heart;
Therefore, be it resolved further that by God's help and grace we will cling to the cross and defend the faith that was once delivered to the saints.
•Resolution 6—Recognizing the close relation between our church and the Bible Schools and the necessity of the schools properly representing the principles of the Doctrines of the Church that we see to it that our proper authorities be instructed to employ no teacher in our schools who has the least doubt in his or her mind as to the Divine Creation of man or who
12
teaches that he has descended from the lower order of animals. Resolution 7.—Recognizing the spirit of unrest that prevails throughout
our nation by reason of the attacks that are being made upon the funda-mental laws of our nation, the Constitution of the United States, and the laws providing for thc enforcement of the Constitution in the matter of abating the manufacture of the sale and traffic of intoxicating liquors and fearing a condition which would result in the instability of our Government and endanger the safety of our homes, should this liquor traffic again be legalized or the enforcement of the law nullified:
Therefore, be it resolved that we denounce all efforts being made toward the repeal and modification of the Volstead Law, or the 18th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, or any law of the State of Indiana, re-lating to the abatement of the liquor traffic;
Be it further resolved that we, as voters, pledge our support only to such candidates for public office as stand for the enforcement and maintenance of the present Prohibition laws.
Resolution 8.—Whereas, Mr. John W. Fitzgerald has another year donated his services as legal advisor and attorney for the Burial Association of the Pilgrim Holiness Church;
Be it resolved, that this District Assembly of Indiana instruct the General Secretary of the Burial Association to write Mr. Fitzgerald a letter of ap-preciation and send to him with a copy of this resolution, over the seal of said association.
Resolution 9.—Whereas, lest there be a laxity in many of our District churches to come up with the financial support of our pastors, for whom we feel deep Christian love and interest;
Whereas, it is the duty of both our State Superintendent and the church to see after their support;
Be it resolved, that we stir our hearts upon these lines, do everything within our power to make easier the burdens they carry, many of them forever unknown to us, that we see to it that their salary be paid in full, and that very often they have a good pounding in the form of a love offering, to consist of honey, milk, flour and chickens, etc., of which things we know they are worthy. May God bless them and keep them ever true.
Resolution 10.—Whereas, God bath granted to the Church one of the greatest privilege known, that of the evangelization of this world and the spread of scriptural holiness throughout our land;
Whereas, God hath said, "He that winneth souls is wise," "and they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firnianient; and they that turn many to righteousness, as the stars for ever and ever;"
Therefore, be it resolved that we endeavor to keep upon ourselves in Indi-ana a spirit of aggressive evangelism;
Be it further resolved, our slogan for Indiana may be at least 50,000 souls for the coming year and an extension of our Home Missionary work that will result in raising up and establishing of Pilgrim Holiness Churches in every city, town and country place that God may lead, knowing that he bath de-clared that we would possess the land that our feet should tread upon;
Resolution 11.—Whereas, there is an evil today toward reducing our Camp Meeting Grounds in different places to the level of the Chautauqua and the parks;
Whereas, God has said, "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy,"
Therefore, be it resolved that it be known we desire a strict Sabbath ob-servance be maintained upon the Pilgrim Holiness Camp Grounds at Frank-fort, which God bath given us, and that we take our stand against buying
13
and selling on the Sabbath day, on these grounds, where we desire that His glory may be felt and the power of His presence seen, remembering the words of our church covenant which has become sacred to our hearts.
"We will remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, by doing no worldly business therein, such as buying and selling, and by avoiding all other oc-cupations, pleasures or traveling which cannot be consistently engaged in with an eye single to God's glory."
Resolution 12.—Whereas, as the city paper, The Morning Times, has so cheerfully contributed again to the success of the Camp by the publicity given therein, especially for the services of Mr. Edward Thacker, recog-nized as one of the best reporters known on the field of journalism;
Therefore, be it resolved that Bro. Ewing present our thanks to them and that a copy of the minutes be sent them.

Another year has come to a close and we are entering now another, which we trust will he a glorious one. The past year means that a portion of lifes lustory is made and completed: What it might have ben or could have hccn wilt not alter the fact of what it is. For teli years we have been making the round very nearly over the same road, but there is always enough interest and concern in what we are (long to keep us incouraged. We lowe done our best and the Lord has blessed the work in the District this year. We visited several of the Zone tent meetings and although the rainy season hindered greatly, vet some good was accomplished. Six new churches were organized. Two new churches were built. Two were bought and remodeled into good buildings and tile church at Tipton was relocated closer up town and on a good improved street greatly increasing the value of the property. The new churches built at English and Scott City are splendid buildings and both churches purchased are excellent properties. Many other improvements have been made and mortgages have been paid off and in addition to this about ten thousand dollars in improvements have been made on the Staic camp ground including a Seven Thousand Dollar Dormitory. The home of course came in for its share of improvements. This of course is included in the above $10,000.
