Mira Loma Grad Night 2016 All Mira Loma families are invited to help the class of 2016 celebrate their graduation. Traditionally, PTSA, along with the CHP and the Mira Loma community, come together to throw a safe and sober $30,000 party at Country Club Lanes on Watt Avenue. We provide a free raffle for the grads with items donated by the families. Below is a list of requested items. This is another great way underclassman families can help. NorCal Science Olympiad Winners Mira Loma High School won in its division at the NorCal Science Olympiad finals held April 16 at UC Stanislaus. This marks our third year in a row as champions, adding to our impressive list of 15 state titles since 1994. Mira Loma will represent Northern California in the national tournament May 21 at University of Wisconsin. The MIra Loma team is coached by science teachers Scott Martinez and Mark Porter.
Claire Burch Finalist in Intel Science Talent Search Congratulations to Claire Burch, one of 40 finalists in the highly selective Intel Science Talent Search. Finalists were selected from among 1,750 entrants from 512 high schools in the United States and abroad. Claire has been awarded an allexpensepaid trip to Washington D.C., where she will compete.

Association of California (CLTAC) Mandarin Speech Contest at Lowell High School in San Francisco on April 23. Annamarie Solorzano (above) won 2nd place, and George Liu (above) was recognized as Honorable Mention.

The Girls Golf team is recruiting new members for next fall. New players are encouraged. Summer practice begins in late June in the evenings. Formal practice starts August 8.

IB News Graduating Seniors Must Request Transcripts for College Please log into your Managebac account and complete the online form to request
your IB transcripts for college. The deadline to request transcripts is June 10th. Return the completed form via email, or bring it to Ms. Smith in the Attendance Office.
Open Board and Chair Positions IBPO is seeking an Executive Board candidate and Committee Chair positions for next year. We are looking to fill the following positions: Vice President for Development: Works with the Annual Fund Committee Chair to promote and oversee fundraising, primarily through emails and print promotions. The Executive Board meets once a month in the evening at Mira Loma. We are holding elections at our May 18 IBPO Board meeting at 6 pm in F3. Committee of the Annual Fund: Assists VP of Development (above). Cochairs for College Sunday Chairs of Hospitality: Responsible for hosting monthly lunches at IB and MYP staff meetings. Churchill Liaison: Attends monthly Churchill IB Booster meetings and reports to the Mira Loma IBPO Board at monthly meetings. Annual IB Senior Dinner The annual IB senior dinner honoring graduating seniors will be held May 27, 610 pm at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West. You may purchase tickets HERE. Tickets must be purchased by May 18.
