the legacy you want to leave.

Decide what is important to you about each category.

Compose 2 short sentences for each category that:

II. Explain what you hope to do within each.

INSPIRATION

Choose an inspirational quote to sum up your overall mission.

Be sure to use quotation marks and give credit for the information.

INTRO SLIDE

Compose a short paragraph generally introducing the overall mission.

You might want to at least mention the categories you’ll be discussing.

NOW PUT IT ALL TOGETHER!

Finally, turn your mission statement into a power point. Be sure to allow one slide for each of the following:

MY MISSION STATEMENT

Throughout each day in my life I will strive to be loyal to my friends and family.

FAMILY

I will always be supportive and loyal to all of my family members, allowing a relationship that will last a lifetime. I will respect those who have lived

longer and experienced more.

FRIENDS

Good friends should always be cherished. I will forever

be supportive to my friends and assist with any

endeavors they may have.

SPIRITUALITY

My spiritual beliefs will remain extremely important in my daily life, creating the backbone of my inner self. I will pray each day, and commit

myself to spiritual growth.

VALUES

In every decision I make, I will stay true to what is important to me. I will always value honesty,

integrity, and charity.

ACCOMPLISHMENT

I will live life to the fullest. I strongly believe that

nothing is impossible, and I will continue to live based on this principle.

Stay focused on the subject/purpose

Offer brief discussion for each category on what you will do; avoid limited or repetitious material

Include several appropriate categories: accomplishments, attitude, family, inspirational quote*, integrity, friendship, value, charity, respect, spirituality

SENTENCE FLUENCY & CONVENTIONS

Use sentences that are complete & fluent (flowing or moving smoothly)

Vary beginning and length of sentences

Use punctuation wisely; use quotation marks for inspirational quote

Spell words correctly

WORD CHOICE & VOICE

Show interest and knowledge in your subject!!!

Choose the best words to get your point across; avoid slang

Avoid “you” (2nd person)

Avoid repetitive or redundant wording
