Mission Heights Primary School is required by the Ministry of Education to have an enrolment scheme. All students who live within the home zone described below and shown on the attached map, shall be entitled to enrol at the school. Please note: students must live in the school zone for a minimum of one school year from their starting date. If you should move out of the Mission Heights Primary School zone, admission to Mission Heights Junior College is dependent on you residing in their zone. Starting at the intersection of Stancombe Road (excluded), Murphys Road (285 and above, odd numbers only included) and Jeffs Road (all addresses included) travel east along Jeffs Road (addresses with access from Warren Way included) and north along Mission Heights Drive. Travel east along Chateau Rise and at the northern most point of Jeffs road travel east across country to the intersection of Whitford Road (excluded), Whitford-Maraetai Road (excluded) and Whitford Park Road (250, 257 and below included). Travel south along Whitford Park Road as far as Polo Lane (excluded). Travel west across country to the intersection of Redoubt Road (640, 601 and above included) and Michael Bosher Way (excluded). Travel north along Redoubt Road to and west along the centre of Ormiston Road (352, 459 and above included, Sandstone Road included), to and north along Murphys Road, back to starting point. All residential addresses on included sides of boundary roads and all no exit roads off included sides of boundary roads are included in the zone unless otherwise stated. Special Circumstances – Schedule A In addition, the properties described in the Schedule marked 'A' shall be deemed to form part of the home zone, provided a child residing at that address has a sibling who attended the school in 2014, and a sibling currently attends the school. When a family living at the address in 2014 ceases residing at the address, the property shall cease to be part of the zone. A full legal description and schedule A is available for viewing at reception. Proof of residence in the home zone will be required. Out of Zone Enrolments (This option is not applicable for 2018) Each year the Board will determine the number of places which are likely to be available in the following year for the enrolment of students who live outside the home zone. The Board will publish this information by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school. The notice will indicate how applications are to be made and will specify a date by which all applications must be received. Applications for enrolments will be processed in the following order of priority: First Priority : This priority category is not applicable at this school because the school does not run a special programme approved by the Secretary. Second Priority : must be given to applicants who are siblings of current students. Third Priority : must be given to applicants who are siblings of former students. Fourth Priority : must be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school. Fifth Priority : must be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the board of the school or a child of a member of the board of the school. Sixth Priority: must be given to all other applicants. If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth or fifth priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by a ballot conducted in accordance with instructions by the Secretary under Section 11G(1) of the Education Act 1989. Parents will be informed of the date of any ballot by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.
