An Invitation to the RCIA

The community of Mission San Diego de Alcalá cordially invites you to enter the RCIA process this fall and experience a new and enriched meaning to your life through renewed faith and love. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process whereby new members join the Catholic Church.

The RCIA is specifically designed for the following: 1) Those adults who have never been baptized and who want to inquire about the Catholic faith. 2) Those adults who have been baptized into another Christian tradition (Lutheran, Episcopalian, Methodist, etc.) who want to inquire about the Catholic faith. 3) Those baptized Catholic adults who have not completed the Sacraments (Eucharist or Confirmation).

If you fit into any of these categories or have a friend or relative who does, please contact Sister Margaret Kelly at (619) 624-0900. The Mission RCIA process will begin Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the California Room of the St. Francis Center. This invitation is precisely that – an invitation! Your acceptance carries no obligation or commitment – just come and inquire.

We welcome you and pray that the Lord will bless your journey of faith.

Volunteers Urgently Needed For Adoration

What do you actually do during adoration? You may sign up to be an "adorer" which allows you to schedule yourself for one or more hours to pray before the very presence of Our Lord, exposed in the monstrance. It means that you can have some time alone with Jesus to pray your favorite prayers, read the Bible, contemplate acts of faith, hope, charity, thanksgiving, reparation, pray a rosary or do whatever type of prayerful devotion that suits you before Our Lord. You can just sit and say nothing simply keeping Him company, just as you would with a dear friend.
