Marriage Help—The word Retrouvaille is a French
word meaning rediscovery. The program offers tools
needed to rediscover a loving marriage relationship.
Thousands of couples headed for cold, unloving rela-
tionships or divorce have successfully overcome their
marriage problems by attending this program. The next
program is January 6-8, 2017. Space is limited, call
(951) 259-9474 for information.
Centering Prayer—The Centering Prayer Group meets every Monday
from 7:00 to 8:15 pm in the California Room. It is a silent prayer that
allows God's healing and transforming love to work in our lives. For our
formation time, we are presently reading "The Discipline of Prayer"
from the Contemplative Life Program. If you are new to Centering
Prayer come 15 minutes early to learn the simple method of Centering
Prayer. For information contact Ardy (858) 279-7278. All are welcome.
Martha and Mary Guild This Guild meets Mondays at 10 a.m. in the Mission church. They begin
with coffee and prayer and then do light cleaning to the pews, kneelers,
railings and sanctuary. Men and women are welcome to join. If dusting
is not your choice come join us for coffee, prayer and socializing. Call
Karen Rebelo (858) 277-6243 or Janet Bartel (858) 560-9312

year’s taxes. For information, please visit the diocese website at
www.diocese-sdiego.org, click GIVING, then Stock Donations found at

A SEASON OF HOPE
Today we can bask in the imagery that the Mass readings
offer us. In particular, Isaiah’s vision of a parched land
that blooms with abundant flowers holds a message for
each of us. Too often we are just like that parched land.
We can allow ourselves to become absorbed in the waves
of consumerism that grip so many. We look for fulfillment
in the things that money can buy. Unfortunately, this leaves
us like parched land, thirsting for something that money
can’t buy. This holy season has much to offer to quench
our thirsts. In a word, this season offers hope. We are told
that those who are ransomed by God will know joy and
gladness. For them, sorrow and mourning will be no more.
Let us place our hope in these promises. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc. _____________________________________________________
