appointed Father Alex De Paulis as
pastor of St. Vincent de Paul in Mission
Hills effective July 1. Please join us

[email protected]) In the words of the
late Irish priest and poet, John O’Donohue, “. . . may
the sacredness of your work bring healing, light and
renewal to those who work with you and to those who
see and receive your work. May the day never burden
you, and may evening find you gracious and fulfilled.
And may you go into the night blessed, sheltered and
protected.”
Celebrate Father’s Day by enrolling your father and all
those who give paternal care and love, in a Novena of
Masses. During our Father’s Day Novena, we will
remember those special men who have nurtured us

will call upon several retired priests to assist us in
offering these Masses. Our Novena will begin today,
Father’s Day, June 18. Cards are available in the
Church as well as in the Gift Shop and Parish
Office. Pick one up today so your father will be
included in these nine days of prayers.

You Can Make a Difference! Every year 138 billion straws and stirrers are
thrown away in the USA. Don’t use these stirrers. Not only are they wasteful and bad
for the environment, they are a waste of money. Use a spoon to stir your coffee, then
simply wash and reuse it.

TRUST IN JESUS
Today’s feast celebrates another central mystery of
our faith—the mystery of the Eucharist. Like the mystery
of the Trinity, the real presence of the Body and Blood of
Christ in the Eucharist can never be fully understood, but
can only be believed. Just as the Israelites in the desert
were invited to put their trust in God’s word to them, we
are invited to trust wholly in the word of Jesus. In today’s
Gospel Jesus promises to give us a share in his very own
flesh and blood, and a share in eternal life besides. We are
called to take him at his word and open our hearts to
receive true nourishment and life from our participation
in the Eucharist. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
