(David Chato explaining the various documents included in the Freedom shrine. He used a unique quiz with various quotes many club members knew and were able to identify. A few of the quotes were unknown reinforcing the value of the shrine as it helps individuals to identify defining moments in US history. Currently a new shrine contains 32 documents from the 1600’s through the 20th century. Developed by the National Exchange Club, the Freedom Shrine originated from the Freedom Train that toured the nation in 1947 carrying an exhibit of historic documents. )The Freedom Shrine is an impressive display of a collection of historic document replicas that serves to remind all of us of the great efforts that have been taken to ensure our freedom. The Freedom Shrine originated with the Freedom Train that toured the nation in 1947 carrying an exhibit of historic documents. It serves as an educational tool in schools and as a motivational display in public arenas. The Freedom Shrine is a Collection of 32 Historic United States Documents (1600's to 1900's). These documents serve as windows to America's proud past.

(The purpose of the Freedom Shrine is twofold. It puts before young Americans proof that the freedom and greatness we enjoy today were not purchased easily and reminds them that these gifts must be cherished and protected. The documents of the Shrine, although culled from the past, represent foundation stones which permit the present, as we know it, to exist and the future, as we dream it, to be attainable.)
