2012 Mission Trip to Kenya, Africa
Lovey Stocks
Hi Team,
As you know, I recently traveled to Kenya, Africa for
3 weeks on a Missions Trip with my church! It was
my 8th trip and I had a fabulous time. We currently
have over 30 churches established in Kenya and each
church is currently led by a native Kenyan. Our
mission is not to Americanize the Kenyan people, but
to assist them in becoming self-sufficient in the land
that God has placed them. It is truly amazing to
return yearly and see men who culturally believed
they owned their wives, now loving them and
dwelling as family units, and families thriving with
their own crop businesses. It is a wonderful time of
giving back what I’ve been blessed with by God!
I hope you enjoy the pictures! ~ Lovey
Mission Trip to Kenya, Africa
Team arrival at Nairobi Airport – greeted by
Kenyans from several of our churches.
We received a hearty farewell as we left the
Kakamega Church Family.
One of our lodging venues – the Nairobi YMCA!
At least we have toilets!!
The lady in the
middle is the
wife of the
main overseer
of our Missions
Work in Kenya.
She’s a former
“New Yorker”
who has given
up her life here
in the US and
devoted herself
to God’s work
in Kenya.
I cannot believe that
Eric (on my right) is
already 10 years old!
He was an infant on
my first trip. His
brother, Ephraim is
7 years old.
One of my
highlights is
working in the
nursery with the
cute babies!!
With good friends,
Mama Eunice &
Mama Gladys, both
original members of
the church since
2003!
Of course, I’m
Mama Lovey!

Road view as we traveled to Nairobi! The
air quality is so poor and trash is
frequently burned all along the roadside.
OMG!! Look at all
the animals!
As a special treat this year
we visited a Nairobi Game
Park!
WE SAW GIRAFFES!!
AND DEER!!
There it is hiding there in
the green marshy area!
AND A HIPPO!!
She strutted her stuff for us.
We were very cautious!
She slowly emerged and
began walking away from us.
She stopped and turned
toward us, as if she was
winking! Unbelievable!!
And now a big yawn, are we
keeping you up my dear??
This was truly one of my best trips to Kenya! Thank
you for allowing me to share some of my highlights
with you! I can’t wait until next year!
We are not hanging around for an
encore. Hippos can run up to 30
MPH!! We are out of here!!
