TRANSCRIPT
OCTOBER 2014
Pastor Raymond continues
The infant church spontaneously displayed the impact a church can have on the world if it is devoted to Jesus, filled with His Spirit, devouring His Word, caring for one another and living Christ-like lives in the midst of a sometimes hostile world.
Every local church, including ours, has the resources to change our world and every now and then a church needs to look to the Lord Jesus to lead us into the next chapter of our life together. Thats what this series is about exploring the next chapter of our life as Meadowlark Community Church.
But it is also an opportunity for each of us individually to ask our Lord what He wants us to do with the next chapter of our own lives. We are each given a once in history opportunity of being partners with Jesus in building His church. Each one of us should respond to the challenge of living for a greater purpose than just surviving this life.
Join us in praying for the Holy Spirit to fill us with His fire as we face the year ahead together!
Raymond
Blessings,

The Next Chapter
Beginning October 5, David and I will be team preaching a sermon series from the book of Acts which we have titled The Next Chapter. Its based on the fact that the author begins the book of Acts with the statement:
Acts 1:1In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach 2until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.
Then, in chapter 28 the book of Acts ends hanging in midair as if the author put down his pen and intended to come back and write chapter 29. But he never did. Perhaps thats because the book of Acts is still being written. Jesus is continuing to do what He began to do: building His kingdom through His Spirit-empowered people.
And we are helping to write the next chapter!
And we are helping to write the next chapter!

Breakfast Meal Service to 40 Veterans and 120+ Homeless
Thursday, October 30 from 5:30 7:30 AM
Meadowlark members have been serving meals once/month for over 10 years and Meadowlark members have been donating regularly to the Food Pantry for breakfast and supper meals in addition to special meals for holidays like Christmas. Please join Elisabeth and me with others like Dale and Arleen Simbro, Jan Kanopka, Carla Evenden, and Carolyn Roberts, Rich Sauerheber and others who served in the past year. A sign-up sheet is in the Ministry Center. The Food Pantry is low and needs food donations badly. Brown Bags with a list of supply need are under the Sign-up table. Peanut Butter, Jelly, and Canned Tuna are on the top of the list. Fill the bags and I will deliver them to Interfaith. Thanks for the many who donated food. Thanks in advance for your continued support.
San Diego Blood BankMeadowlark Member Group MLCC
Once again the blood donors from Meadowlark Church and our surrounding community have received high praise from the SD Blood Bank for their outstanding participation in the blood drive on Sept. 7th. Through our donations there was the potential to save 69 lives!!
Meadowlarks Partners 4 Life Statistics from the drive on Sept. 7th are as follows:
Collection Goal: 22 pints
Scheduled Donors: 2
Registered Donors: 29 Deferred: 1
Pints Collected: 23
Percentage of Goal: 104%
Points earned for this drive: 460
The points we earn from the drives are being donated towards the purchase of a new Blood Mobile to help better serve our communities. We had several donors that had donated too recently to donate at this drive and several who signed up but were ill and could not donate or our number of units donated would have been at about 30. As it was 16 members of Meadowlark, 5 members of Good Shepard, and 2 people from the area came together to make our drive a success.
If you are a donor you can access your Wellness Profile to view your blood pressure, cholesterol and total pints donated online atwww.mysdbb.org. You will need your Donor ID and DOB to access your info. Our next drive is scheduled for March 15, 2015 so please mark your calendar and plan to participate.
My thanks for everyone who stepped up to GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE and make a difference.
God Bless,
Bill Troop

Meadowlark
The Men's Fellowship welcomed two new members to our board this past month, Wade Thompson and Ross Swanson were recruited and graciously accepted our invitation. We look forward to their contributions to strengthening our Fellowship Community. Welcome gentlemen!
We are still being blessed with the positive response we had to our last retreat this past March. A number of men have asked for another retreat before the year is out. Alas, we cannot make that happen this year, but we have made nice strides for our retreat for 2015.
We are scheduling Friday and Saturday, March 6th and 7th for our"Ignite & Inspire with Integrity" Retreat, again to be held at the Boathouse at Lake San Marcos. Our intent is to literally Ignite & Inspire our men in addressing our roles as leaders in the church body and our families. This is a beautiful, relaxed setting close to home. Gourmet meals and healthy snacks will nourish us as we reignite our passion for Christ and brotherhood.
We will start Friday evening the 6th with our prayer and dinner and inspirational kick-off to set Saturday's Breakfast and following sessions, through a guest speaker, lunch, testimonies, Communion and dinner. The cost is being set at $150 for the two days and four meals.
