Bethel Bible College is the most important pastoral training school for the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Mali. Just three miles from the Koutiala Women’s and Children’s Hospital, this college provides the most advanced training for pastoral students in Mali.

When CCC launched the Mali Project in 2004, our dream was to be used by God to transform a nation. God has used CCC to build a hospital, provide critical medical supplies, dig wells for life-giving water, send food to the malnourished, start a ministry to rescue young girls in need, and more. While all of this brings healing to desperate people in poverty, the ultimate goal is to bring the hope of Jesus Christ through the power of the Gospel.

This is why the work at Bethel is so important. God has blessed us with the opportunity to invest in the next generation of Malian pastors. Our dream is for these pastors to plant new churches in unreached cities and villages. Our desire is for healthy Malian churches to multiply and start more healthy Malian churches, and for the entire country of Mali to realize the love of Jesus.

PASTOR CRAIG WALTER:AN INTRODUCTORY LETTERABOUT BETHEL BIBLE COLLEGE

Bethel students, teachers, and their families all live on campus. They grow much of their own food and care for their own animals, so water gives them life. This tower will sit on top of an existing well and give them the ability to double the size of their gardens.

Total needed: $27,000 1% of water tower: $270

A new water tower brings the ability to double the size of their gardens, where families grow life-giving food while living at Bethel. However, gardens bring opportunities for animals to invade and eat their food. Bethel needs approximately 500 meters of new fencing to secure the gardens.

CCC recently sent 20 desk and chair sets for Bethel classrooms, but they still need at least 30 more sets.

Total needed: $4,500 1 desk & chair combo: $150

LIBRARY BOOKS

As Bethel grows, the students need more advanced theology books in French. This gift will increase the size of their current library significantly.

Total needed: $5,000 Average cost of a book: $50

Each graduating senior receives a laptop computer. CCC purchases used, semi-rugged laptops that can withstand the harsh environment.

As part of their training, Bethel students do three evangelistic outreaches each year in partnership with previously graduated pastors. This sound system will enhance their ability to reach more people in these village outreaches.

Total needed: $5,000 10% of sound system: $500

These funds will allow the Malian national church to launch a new training program in churches across Mali using Theological Education by Extension.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR PASTORAL STUDENTS

The national church greatly needs Masters- and PhD- level leaders. These grants assist their best pastors who are sent to schools in other African countries to receive this education.

Total needed: $5,000 Grant for one student: $1,000

CCC provides much-needed scholarships to Bethel students, which allows the students to care better for their families while they are in school and allows Bethel to recruit the best students.

Total needed: $15,000 Scholarship for one student: $400

The first student housing complex provided by CCC, which was completed in 2014.

Most Bethel students and their families live in small, primitive housing at the college. Bethel desires to care for their students by providing larger housing units with indoor plumbing and electricity. Each unit has eight apartments, which provides space for eight pastoral students and their families, and costs $100,000 to build.

Bethel plans on building three more units, which will provide homes for 24 pastoral students and their families.

What if funds for a particular item exceed the need? If an item is funded beyond the need, your gift will be applied to the other items based on priority.

What if an item is not 100% funded?If funding for a particular item is insufficient (e.g., not enough gifts are given to pay for the new water tower), the funds will be allocated towards that item and saved for future use.

What happens if CCC raises more money than is needed for the entire catalog?If every item is funded, excess funds will be saved and used for future projects at Bethel Bible College.

What is included in the price of each item?The purchase price reflects the amount needed to purchase and install the specific item. The costs are estimates provided by CCC missions leadership or personnel on the ground in Mali.
