the blood of Christ.” Ephesians 2:13

“How can they believe in the one whom they have not heard? And how can they hear

without someone preaching to them?

And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is wri en, ‘How beau ful are the

feet of those who bring good news.’ “

Mission Statement

The Purpose of Missions at Christ Community Church is to glorify the Triune God by fulfilling the Great Commission through the support, both spiritually

and physically, of missionaries as they bring the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to the peoples of the world and minister to their spiritual, emotional

and physical needs. We share in this task by supporting missionaries financial-ly, waging spiritual warfare through intercessory prayer on their behalf, and

meeting the urgency of the task in special projects and disaster relief.

Christ Community Church has developed a partner-ship with World Help to plant churches where no churches exist and participate in their backpack project called "Christmas For An Orphan.” Church-planting movements are the key to evange-lizing the least-reached peoples of the world. Effective church-planting movements, utilizing national church planters, can penetrate entire un-reached people groups with the Gospel. Today, there are still entire groups of

people in Asia, Africa, the former Soviet Union and the Middle East who have never even heard of Jesus Christ. It is the vision of World Help to help plant indigenous, reproducing churches where no churches currently exist. World Help has developed a proven church-planting strategy for achieving this goal: Train national church planters Supply support for church planters Provide churches with a building in which to worship Christ Community Church joins World Help as a partner to plant churches to the most unreached areas of our world.

New Hope Correctional Ministry Chaplain Daniel Croce

As a young man, Chaplain Daniel Croce was an inmate at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility in Plymouth MA, where he came to the saving knowledge of Christ when Chaplain Bob Hanson ministered to him. After his release, he attended Wheaton College, IL, was ordained in July of 1995, and began serving as the chaplain at that same facility. Since October 1, 1996, he has worked to bring new hope to the inmates there. Chaplain Dan and his wife, Kim, have 5 children: Melissa, Daniel, Thomas, Elizabeth, and Dara Jane.

New Hope Correctional Ministry is a faith-funded ministry. They are hoping to expand the ministry with aftercare as God provides! Some of the inmates that are released have only the clothes on their back. NHCM hopes to be able to provide them with a change of clothes, a job, transportation, and a place to live for a while until they can get their own apartment. How One Can Help: Volunteers are needed to grade Bible lessons. If anyone has a vehicle that they would like to donate to NHCM, let Chaplain Danny know. Some inmates need a car to get back to work after their release. Prayer Requests: Please pray for inmates who will soon be released—that they will start attending a good

church, find work, transportation, and a place to live. Contact Information:

Open Door Gospel & Social Outreach Ministries Pastor Stephen Devakumaar

Pastor Stephen Devakumaar was born and brought up in an Orthodox Hindu home. One day a friend tried to tell him about the love of God and how Jesus was the one true living God, but he turned away. It was not until after a serious bus accident that he accepted Jesus as his personal savior, and was baptized on August 30, 1970.

Despite great oppression he became a min-ister and in 1983 founded the Open Door Gospel and Social Outreach Ministries,

India. Today his ministry has planted and supports 30 churches and pastors all over the Indian state of Tamilnadu, adding six new churches in the past year alone. Pastor Devakumaar’s ministry built the churches and parsonages; it runs two children's homes for 150 destitute children; helps the young, aged, and handicapped with food, clothing, and medical aid; and runs three public English schools where the Living Christ is introduced to the students. In January 2012, it began a Bible College where almost 20 men and women are studying. In addition, it has a Christian publishing and music ministry that reaches over seven million people; it holds Training Conventions and has recently started a free lending library of over 2,000 books and audio tapes that any Christian believer, irrespective of denomination, can borrow. Don & Kim Gillaspie serve with InterAct Ministries as church planters, living among the Chilcotin people of central British Columbia. In the wilderness areas of British Columbia there are nearly 200 “hidden communities” made up of unreached people groups. The Chilcotin nation is one of those groups.

Tara and her husband Jamie teach school in Saudi Arabia and are the parents of Aden James & Avery McGuire.

Bill and his wife Ashlee (Schahczinski) are in the National Guard, stationed in Wisconsin, and are each taking classes.

Primary Prayer Requests: That God would glorify Himself among the Chilcotin people

For success in learning the Chilcotin language

For physical and spiritual protection. (There are many physical dangers there, and it is a very dark place spir-itually. with many spiritual strongholds)

For relationships: protection and deepening of existing ones and for beginning and building others. (Apart from the power of God, relationships are the most critical aspect to ministry here. Without deep trusting relationships, ministry simply cannot / will not happen here)

Straight Ahead Ministries, Inc. John Kinsley

Straight Ahead Ministries (SAM) is a ministry that shares the love and hope of Christ to incarcerated youth ages 12-20 years, who are in juvenile detention centers. This ministry helps them to get back on the right path to life, hope, and faith. SAM also has a training program for youngsters who leave lock-up whereby they are able to work at two businesses that the ministry has set up in Worchester: The Straight Up Café and The New You (used clothing). Many of the young people who get through these programs find purpose and a life outside of the gangs. John Kinsley started with SAM as a volunteer Bible Study leader in 1990. In 1993, he left his law practice to become a full-time staff member. Locally, John leads two detention center Bible Studies each week, follows up with young people when they return to their communities, counsels at Straight Ahead’s transitional living program, and writes and edits material used by young people and volunteers. In 2002, John was named Straight Ahead Ministries’ Coordinator of International Outreach, assisting those outside the USA who are called to work with at-risk youth. John has been working with local ministries to bring the Gospel and humanitarian aid to juvenile prisoners and orphans in Ukraine and Nigeria. Each year this outreach expands as local ministries contact Straight Ahead for assistance in reaching at-risk youth. Prayer Requests: Pray that youngsters who go through the programs in Worcester find purpose and a life outside the gangs. Pray they grow in their faith as they see followers of Christ who stick by them.

Discipling the nations, starting with the immigrant community

in France

Patrick and Jill McDaniel, with their two children, Theodore (Theo, for short!) and Adrianna, serve with The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM) in reaching the Muslim, North African immigrants living in southern France. The McDaniel's long for these Muslims to know God not only as their judge, but to know Jesus as their Savior! Aix-en-Provence that spreads to these immigrants’ home countries of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt. Prayer Requests: Please pray with the McDaniel's that these unreached peoples will hear and respond to

the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and also that the Lord would send out more laborers in this harvest field (Matthew 9:37-38).

Act Beyond Craig & Susan

Craig, Susan, and their 2 daughters (ages 11 and 8), live on the opposite side of the globe in one of the largest Muslim country in the world. For the last 13 years, they have served among a clever and influential Unreached People Group of ~8 million souls who are 99.99% Muslim. Craig and Susan also equip local believers to serve among the 49 other UPGs of their region. With approximately 50 million inhabitants, this region is one of the biggest Islamic strongholds in Southeast Asia. Despite the challenges, Craig and Susan are witnessing increased openness and responsiveness among these unreached people groups. Craig and Susan’s mission is to start church planting movements, also known as discipleship-making movements, which transform unreached people groups – where obedient disciples make obedient disciples and reproducing churches start reproducing churches – who make Jesus known while transforming lives, relationships and communities. Craig and Susan serve as part of Act Beyond(www.beyond.org). Act Beyond focuses on seeing Church Planting Movements start among the Unreached People Groups of the world. Prayer Requests: Christ-like humility as we serve among the unreached Open doors and open hearts among these unreached peoples For whole households to come to faith For more workers: the harvest is plentiful, the workers are few … Is God calling you? Financial Support: Would you prayerfully consider joining Craig & Susan’s ministry team in reaching the unreached for Christ through a commitment of monthly financial support? Teen Challenge New England, Inc. Brockton, MA

Teen Challenge is a Christian based substance abuse rehabilitation program for men and women 17 and older. There are centers for men in Brockton, Fall River, Dorchester, New Haven, and Manchester, and women’s centers in Providence and New Haven. Each center provides an intense educational program focused around the life changing belief in Christ that “anything is possible through Jesus for he who believes.” For more than 40 years the lives of men and women’s lives have been changed through the power of God. Many have gone on to serve as pastors, missionaries, counselors, and many other vocational and academic professions. Unlike any other substance abuse program, Teen Challenge has an unprecedented success rate for those who graduate from the fifteen month program. This rate is con-firmed in both university and governmental studies. Ministry of Compassion Local Outreach

Christ Community Church desires to reach out to those in need as the Lord commands us in John 13:34 “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” Locally, a Fall Fair is held to distribute necessities to the homeless and low income families. Food, clothing, boots, toiletries, sleeping bags, and more are given out to help those in need.

The Angel Tree program gives gifts to help families in the area in various ways for Christmas.

We have partnered with Matthew 25:40 Ministries to serve lunches in the area on Saturdays, when local soup kitchens are closed. We will be serving hundreds of lunches. Kathy Tietze and members of CCC will be helping serve there!

Page 18

Christ Community Church In Ukraine

Christ Community Church has sent various Mission Teams to the Ukraine under the leadership of John Kinsley. During these trips, the teams have spent time at Safe Haven in Kiev and encouraged the young people there who were transitioning from the orphanage to

life on their own. The trips also include excursions to see the sights and sounds of Kiev. They have also spent time encouraging men in the drug rehabilitation center in Zolotonosha. The teams also travel to an internat (orphanage) in Kaniv, teaming up with a local church and other local missionaries, where they help put on a camp for the children living there.

The teams visit the same orphanage each time where they show the love of Christ through activities to the younger kids on site. They also minister to the older kids by taking them to a camp off site. The team members often come away blessed, seeing His love shine in these children. The children have asked for members of the team by name and remember them with love.

Hope of Life International Zacapa, Guatemala

Christ Community Church has partnered with Hope of Life (HOL) in Zacapa Guatemala. Hope of Life was founded by Guatemala native, Carlos Vargas and we have worked closely with him to help his mission in Guatemala.

Vision: Hope of Life International is a Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people. HOL’s goal is to help victims of poverty, natural disasters, disease, and starvation alleviating their pain and suffering by sharing the love of God and by serving their needs thru the Practical Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Mission: HOL believes in the equality and importance of all people and that a Practical Gospel works only when serving the physical and spiritual needs in unity. They are certain that providing educational aid and sustainable projects to the poor will transform the lives of the children, adults, and communities they serve. HOL believes in serving with passion, dedication, and organization thus motivating those serving to accomplish more and more each day. HOL feeds the hungry, cares for orphans, rescues the sick and dying, provides homes for the homeless, prepares leaders, and does so much more. Christ Community Church In Guatemala

In 2011 Christ Community Church, through our part-nership with Hope of Life and with the Lord’s provision, adopted the village of El Arco in Guatemala. Major steps were taken to give El Arco a Total Village Transformation. These projects included building a church, a vocational school, a bathhouse, ovens, a working well, and a feeding center for the village so that the residents can become more self-sufficient. Along with these projects, the team

conducted health screenings, and provided many Bible Studies and Vacation Bible School programs to the villagers, bringing the Gospel message to all ages. Most importantly, our mission teams have built long-lasting relationships, allowed El Arco to become an independent and growing community, and have spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

In addition to El Arco, we have also worked in two other villages – El Astillero and La Colina, and have begun the process of adopting an additional village – San Juan. Work will begin in San Juan in November 2014. CCC is excited to see God’s Hand at work through His people and plans many future trips to this area.

Corazon de Esperanza Trujillo, Peru

Christ Community Church is partnering with Corazon de Esperanza, a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing hope to orphaned children, at-risk teens, and impoverished women of Northern Peru. We help support orphanages, schools, youth and women’s programs, volunteer programs, and youth transitional homes through short-term mission trips.

Teams from Christ Community have assisted with the construction of a new Transitional Home “Hogar Luz de Vida” (Light of Life Home). This home will serve as a transitional home for youth who are aging out of the local orphanages and will help teach them essential skills to survive on their own.

CCC’s Mission Teams have traveled to Trujillo, Peru several times. In 2006 the team undertook the following projects: Installed an irrigation system for the cultivation of alfalfa Planted forty fruit trees for food and to supplement much

needed income Constructed a fountain for the children Helped a widow by putting a mud roof on her home Provided medical treatments where necessary Gave haircuts to the villagers In 2007 the team constructed a new water tower which is now providing water to thousands of Peruvian villagers. As a result of a partnership that developed over the previous years, the team was able to build a church in the village. In 2012 and 2013, CCC partnered with Corazon de Esperanza and helped build a transitional home for young adults when they leave the orphanage.

With every visit to this area our teams have held numerous Vacation Bible School programs for the children in the village outside of Trujillo. On future visits we hope to assist with cooking sessions hosted by Hogar Luz de Vida and teach the women of the village skills such as sewing, knitting, jewelry making, cooking, and crafts.

We are planning to return to Peru in 2014. Prayer Requests:

Pray for the work that God is doing in Peru Pray for His love to spread each time we visit
