Continue-George was born in 1864 on a small farm in Diamond Grove, Missouri.

-George and his older brother James were orphaned at a very young age. They were takenin by a kind white couple who raised the children as their own; teaching them to read,write and also allowing them to go to school.

-From a very young age, George was extremely curious about the world around him. He was especially interested in learning about plants and animals. His hard work and determination eventually led him to getting a college degree and becoming the professor at a college in Alabama.

-Once in Alabama, he saw farmers struggling to keep their crops alive due to insect damage. He was determined to come up with a solution. And the solution was PEANUTS!

-Laura, along with her mom, dad, and her three sisters would move across the developing northern and central frontier. Throughout Lauras childhood, they lived In over five statesand eventually settled on a farm in Iowa.

-The Ingalls family encountered a lot of hardships throughout their travels which Lauralater wrote about in her famous award winning childrens books, known as, Little House on the Prairie.

-While in Iowa, Laura met the love of her life, Almanzo Wilder. They got married and eventually settled in Mansfield, Missouri. Laura had one daughter, Rose, who played a big role in the writing and development of the famous childrens books.
