Mistakes That Are Making You Look Older

"Confidence is a habit that can be developed by acting as if you already had the confidence you desire to have”

Enhance

Never skip blush ‘coz nothing looks more refreshingly fresh than a flushed glow.

You ‘re probably used to smiling when applying blush, which is a pro technique, but unfortunately, it only works when you’re young.

As your skin starts losing its firmness, you need to start using a different technique.

Instead of faking a smile on your cheeks to apply your blush, just use it on on the highest point of your cheekbone and sweep it upwards towards your temples using a large brush.

Make sure to use rosy shades that look natural instead of high-octane pinks that make you look clownish.

Don’t Rush With The Blush

Getting carried away with a foundation that is too thick, will make it settle into fine lines and cause your skin to look super dull and old.

Try a sheer-liquid foundation instead of a ‘matte’ or ‘long-lasting’ one and only blend it on areas where you need it.

Make sure your skin is regularly exfoliated and moisturized since dry skin can make your foundation look patchy.

OD-ing On Foundation

Too much shimmer can enhance fine lines and applying it to your whole face can age you instantly.

Friendly tip: Always remember that bronzer should be applied in a ‘C’- on the temples, along your cheekbones and end right under them.

This will sharpen your features and give you a gorgeous, dewy glow.

Excess Bronzer

Dark circles are a beauty problem we all face, even if you are blessed with fabulous skin.

This area is very delicate and the skin very thin, a thick concealer may cover up the shadows but will play up the fine lines.

Apply only a thin layer of concealer with a makeup brush and only on the darkest areas.

A highlighter pen is also a fantastic idea to try on the area instead of an opaque-coloured concealer. The lighter, the better

Concealer Over-Kill On Your Under-Eyes

Clumpy and thick mascara can instantly make you look older and is SO unflattering.

Avoid thick formula mascaras, and it’s best to not use them on your lower lashes.

Spidery lower lashes can age you and also draw attention to under-eye lines.

Generous amounts of volumizing mascara on your upper lashes are all the drama you need.

Mascara On Your Lower Lashes

A fuller pout can make you look more youthful in an instant, which is why you should avoid dark lipsticks, especially if you have thinner lips.

Like any dark colours, their slimming effects are not so welcome when it comes to our pucker.

If you do like a deep shade, don’t wear it in matte and make sure to apply some shiny gloss on top to give the illusion of a plumper pout.

The Danger of Dark Lipstick

Eyeliner is great for adding some drama and defining your eyes, but thick black liner can sometimes seem too harsh and enhance signs of aging like crow’s feet.

Try lining only a third of your lash line or use a shade that is softer than black like brown or grey.

Use an ear bud or an angled brush to smudge the line to soften it up and give your eyes some extra oomph.
