MISTY LAUREL CHALET is a wonderful

place for families or couples, with a

myriad of outdoor activities available

nearby, including easy access to Lake

Nantahala and to the Nantahala Outdoor

Center. The NOC is known widely for the

tremendous whitewater rafting and

kayaking opportunities there. For hikers,

the Bartram Trail passes nearby and

intersects with the Appalachian Trail at

Wayah Bald, which is just east of the

cabin. Fishermen will enjoy stream or lake

fishing nearby. Downhill skiing is available

at Maggie Valley (Cataloochee Ski Area),

only about 55 miles away.
