    Athletes Lounge (Bike check)

    •  Refer to 5.2 in competition rules •  Handle bars with clips-on •  Wheels and spare wheels (non authorized UCI

    wheels rule) •  Leave your spare wheels to the Bike Check •  Bike frame •  Saddle position ( -5 cm ≤ Men & -2 cm ≤ Women) •  Approved exceptions on ITU website

    Athletes Lounge (Bike check)

    •  Approval for the addition/modification of any equipment to the bike, MUST be obtained from the TD at the end of the athletes’ briefing

    •  Mechanic service available

    Athletes Lounge •  All Team members must check in together •  Uniform check (name, country, logos, ITU logo, zippers) – photos taken of

    each uniform. •  Wearing other uniform during the race = DQF! •  Spare wheels to the Athletes’ Lounge. •  Body marking check (both arms, both legs) •  Timing chip & Swim cap distribution for 1st athlete (1 for the ankle) •  2,3 and 4th team member will collect the timing chip & swim cap from the

    relay area •  Athletes MUST be in the relay check in zone in time to collect chip and be

    ready

  • Check-in procedures

    Transition Area •  All Team members must check in together •  The 4th team member to leave their bike closer to the mount line •  Helmet check (only manufacturers’ logo!) •  Don’t leave your helmet fastened in the transition •  Any athlete who fails to comply with this rule will receive a time

    penalty of 10 seconds in TA1 •  Running Shoes outside the box, helmet on the bike •  To add any equipment to the bike, you must obtain approval from

    the Race Referee until 10 minutes after the end of the Coaches‘ Briefing.

  • Pre-start Procedure

    Athlete Introduction: •  10 minutes before start - line-up at the Finish area

    •  Team will get introduced together •  First Athlete

    •  Jog to the platform •  Select your position and stay behind the line! •  Blocking two positions – immediate DSQ

    •  2nd, 3rd, 4th Athletes stop before the bridge to the pontoon and will be directed into the corridor to their left.

  • Start Procedure

    Athletes in position: •  The start can be given any time after the TD

    announces ”On your mark” •  Air horn blast •  The race starts

    Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty in TA1.

  • False Start Procedures

    False start with many athletes: •  Several horn blasts •  Kayaks move in front of you •  Everyone goes back to her/his original start spot Valid start with early starters: •  If a few athletes start before the horn and everyone

    else starts with the horn, the false starter(s) will receive a 10 second penalty in TA1.

    •  During the time penalty, the athlete(s) may NOT touch any equipment.

    Swim 1lap of 250 m Bike 2 laps of 2,85 – 5,7 km total Run laps of 1,2 km

  • Run Penalty Box Refer to 3.3 on the Competition Rules •  Start infringements will be served in TA1 •  Swim, TA1, Bike, TA2 and Run Infringements will be served in

    Run Penalty Box (Transition will be videotaped for infringements) Location: 80 m before the Transition Area Information: White board to show race numbers (Athletes need to read the board – coaches are advised to check

    and inform their athletes) Procedure: 10 second time penalty served on any lap of the run If you don’t stop DSQ

    ANY Member of a team can stop for the Penalty

  • Relay Zone •  Prior to the relay exchange, the athletes will wait in

    the relay check in zone until the moment when the Technical official tells them to enter the relay zone. Athletes need to be present at the check in area.

    •  It is athletes’ responsibility to be there, collect the timing chip and be ready

    •  The relay exchange from one team member to another must take place inside the „Relay Zone”

  • Relay Zone •  The relay exchange is completed by the incoming

    athlete, using their hand to contact the body of the out-going athlete within the relay zone

    •  If the contact occurs outside the relay zone, both athletes must return to the relay zone and complete the exchange properly.

    •  Keep both Feet behind the relay line •  If the exchange is not completed inside the relay

    zone, the team will get a 10 second penalty

  • Run Penalty Box Rule interpretation Mount after the mount line: One foot of the athlete has to be in contact

    with the floor after the mount line. If this contact doesn’t occur the action is considered as mount the bike before the mount line.

    Dismount before the dismount line: One foot of the athlete has to be in contact with the floor before the dismount line. If this contact doesn’t occur the action is considered as dismount the bike before the dismount line.

    Discharge or store your equipment inside your designated area: Leaving the equipment s(swim cap, googles, helmet, etc.) in the designated box.

    Rack the bike inside your own space: In case of Traditional bike rack, the bike must be racked with at least one side of the handlebar or the seatpost with 0,5m to the name plate. In case of Individual bike race, the bike must be racked with the front wheel to the designated rack.

    •  Medal Presentation - protocol – at 13:30 •  Dress “up”

    Team Medical Access •  Only team medical will be allowed to enter the medical

    tent after the LOC Doctor’s perimission. •  Every NF can have 1 team medical accreditation but

    for team doctors only
