BE COOLTHIS WINTER

Dear friends, With the crisp chill setting firmly upon us and the brightness of autumn replaced by the grayer skies of winter, we thought we would take this opportunity to let you know about the programs and events to brighten your days here at the MJCC. After all, if we need to spend time indoors, it should be invigorating in mind, body, and spirit!

Thanks to a generous grant from the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland, the MJCC has renewed its commitment to bringing top quality cultural, arts and education programming to the MJCC. In these pages, we believe you’ll see an abundance of excellent social and cultural programming that we are proudly presenting this winter! Don’t miss our Really Real Reel-to-Reel Movie Night on January 24. We’re already collecting new movies for future dates! Join us for this wonderful throw back to the days in the old theaters or in the family basement. Or get involved in the fun and participate in our Challah Bake-off (tasty entries due January 23) or the Most Entertaining Bar/Bat Mitzvah Photo Contest (we’ll be judging you but it’s not personal)! There’s much more inside – 12 pages of programming including Tu B’shvat-a-thon, snowshoeing, Jews and Brews and much more!

To ensure the pounds don’t rack up this winter after all the turkey, latkes and other holiday victuals, we have some amazing programs to kick this new calendar year into high gear! Get the most out of our personal trainers and gather your best buddies for IGNITE! This new small group personal training opportunity gives you all the benefit of personal training at a fraction of the cost (you share that personal attention with a friend or new-found friend, or make it a family thing and start the new year right with Fit Families! Who doesn’t love family recess?

Lastly, we’ve lined up some amazing talent for our monthly Bistro Nights in the lobby. The Cafe at the J whips up small plates and serves wine and beer and the musical talent of our performers is top notch! Bistro Nights are FREE so join us and bring your friends.

This winter, we look forward to seeing you at the J!

Warm regards,

Jordana LevenickMJCC Operations Manager
