Taking care of your MLC wool jumperThe MLC jumper is made of 50% wool and 50% acrylic yarn. Instructions are sewn into each garment giving basic washing instructions, however to ensure that everyone enjoys the natural qualities of wool at their best we have produced this information sheet.
Machine wash
• Turning knitwear inside out before washing will protect the surface and prevent it from picking up fibres from other items.
• Select wool cycle. The wool cycle will agitate your washing in a gentle manner and use a slow spin.
• Ensure the water is no hotter than 40°C (lukewarm) and use a mild detergent, eg Softly. If you put a wool sweater in the washing machine on a hot setting it may shrink by up to 60%.
• Dry flat in the shade or inside. Do not tumble dry.
Hand wash
Hand wash your jumper in lukewarm water (40ºC) using a mild detergent, eg Softly, making sure the powder or liquid is fully dissolved before immersing the garment. Squeeze the garment gently in the liquid, but avoid rubbing. A short soak will help to lift dirt and stains. The natural properties of wool allow it to release dirt easily and rubbing and wringing is likely to damage it.
Rinse your jumper in lukewarm water several times to allow the dirt and detergent to float away. Squeeze dry, avoiding wringing and dry flat in the shade or inside.
Your MLC jumper may be spun dry in your washing machine on the wool cycle. Do not tumble dry.
Dry cleaning
Dry cleaning your jumper is a safe alternative.

Second Hand Uniform PolicyAs a service to the College community, second hand uniforms are sold through the MLC Uniform Shop.
We ask that all second hand items are appropriately laundered and dry-cleaned. Stock will be purchased from the family supplying the uniform to MLC and the amount due will be credited to the next Family Account after commission (33%) and GST have been deducted from the sale amount. Families who no longer have an active Family Account with the College will be reimbursed to their bank account or by cheque. In the interest of providing our community with quality items, the MLC Uniform Shop reserves the right to refuse some items for resale.
There is no refund or exchange for second hand goods purchased at the MLC Uniform Shop.

Independent Shopping
A convenient way for your daughter to shop.Once your daughter has commenced at the College she may find there are extra pieces of uniform she requires. Many parents find paying by phone credit card is the most practical method of payment. Your phone call before your daughter visits the shop would be most appreciated, this avoids a phone call to you at an inconvenient time and helps us to streamline our service during the busy times of the day when students call in. Call us on +61 3 9274 6422 or email [email protected]. Otherwise, cash, cheques and eftpos are all acceptable.
