Program Options

This program is for associate or bachelor’s degree foreign or domestic students looking to expand their horizons and receive an in-depth business education by studying for 6 months and training for 6 months at a New York City company. Students will be able not only to acquire but also further their knowledge in an array of marketing, management, finance and operational subjects needed to succeed in business. With start dates in January, April, July and September, the MIM International Business Studies Program will allow students to strengthen their business management ability and better prepare themselves for today’s business world.

different levels of academic coursework and experience.

MIM is authorized by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) to issue the I-20 or DS-2019 form. Once you have been accepted into the program, an I-20 or DS-2019 form and a letter of acceptance will be sent to you, then you can apply for your visa :

Overseas students will have to go to their local U.S. Consulate or Embassy with their passport, I-20 or DS-2019 form issued by MIM, and appropriatefinancial information to apply for a Student Visa.

The admission decision will be released after 1-2 weeks after submitting a full application.

Application Requirements


MIM students are required to study full-time.

J-1 Visa

M-1 visa holders for vocational programs are not permitted to work during the course of their

studies. The M-1 student visa applicants must have evidence that sufficient funds are immediately

available to pay all tuition and living costs for the entire period of intended stay.

Before you can apply at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate for an M-1 student visa, you must first apply to

and be accepted by MIM.

Exchange visitor (J-1) visas are nonimmigrant visas for individuals approved to participate in exchange visitor programs in the United States.

A J-1 visa is a temporary, nonimmigrant student visa that allows foreign post-secondary students to study in the US through an approved, government-sponsored exchange program. Students on a J-1 visa may undertake the study of a degree until completion, non-degree programs and an internship academic training.

Generally, a citizen of a foreign country who wishes to enter the United States must first obtain a visa, either a nonimmigrant visa for temporary stay or an immigrant visa for permanent residence.

The M-1 visa is for students enrolled in non-academic or “vocational study”, such as our

International Business Studies program at MIM.

Visa Types

MIM Provides 2 Visa Types:

M-1 Visa


When you are accepted by MIM, you will be enrolled in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). You must pay the SEVIS I-901 Fee. In order to pay the fee and apply for a visa, MIM will provide you with a Form I-20, (M-1) or a form DS-2019 (J-1) to present to the

consular officer when you attend your visa interview.
