Overview of Mobile Learning
M-learning or mobile learning is defined as "learning across multiple contexts, through social and content interactions, using personal electronic devices.”
A form of distance education, m-learners use mobile device educational technology at their time convenience.

[…] we cannot point to a single application that steps up to modern understandings of how people learn.
[…] The lack of collaboration capabilities underlie this point, as do the overwhelming number of application[s] that are simply drill and practice or focused on delivering content for consumption, not creation or re-use.
Language Learning Apps

QR code (abbreviated from Quick Response Code) is the trademark for a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional barcode) first designed for the automotive industry in Japan.
A barcode is a machine-readable optical label that contains information about the item to which it is attached.
A QR code uses four standardized encoding modes (numeric, alphanumeric, byte / binary, and kanji) to efficiently store data; extensions may also be used.

Augmented reality technology permits learning via remote collaboration, in which students and instructors not at the same physical location can share a common virtual learning environment populated by virtual objects and learning materials and interact with another within that setting.

Augmented reality is the blending of virtual reality and real life, as developers can create images within applications that blend in with contents in the real world. With AR, users are able to interact with virtual contents in the real world, and are able to distinguish between the two.
Virtual reality is all about the creation of a virtual world that users can interact with. This virtual world should be designed in such a way that users would find it difficult to tell the difference from what is real and what is not. Furthermore, VR is usually achieved by the wearing of a VR helmet or goggles similar to the Oculus Rift.

A popular application is found in telepresence videoconferencing, the highest possible level of videotelephony. Telepresence via video deploys greater technical sophistication and improved fidelity of both sight and sound than in traditional videoconferencing.
Technical advancements in mobile collaboration have also extended the capabilities of videoconferencing beyond the boardroom for use with hand-held mobile devices, enabling collaboration independent of location.
