Mobi tec

A qualitative piece of furniture such as a table, which will provide years of pleasure, is the result of several important ingredients : good quality materials, a well-equipped production plant and, of course, big doses of know-how and experience.That is why Mobitec selects very carefully and precisely its suppliers. We buy FSC certified wood from the most reliable outcome.Over the years, we have learned and developed real skills in the manufacturing procedures.

A careful examination allows us to give to every single piece of wood its best allocation.Our most advanced, precise technology shape the raw material into nice parts, our professional and experienced manpower give that special touch which will guarantee the perfect finish.

Except for the metal contract table bases, which we buy in, Mobitec is proud to be a whole self-made producer.Whether it is solid or veneer wood, HPL - High Pressure Laminate - or even laminated table tops, we are accustomed to all of them.

BEECHPropertiesBeech wood is medium to heavyweight. It is very hard and tough. It has good strength properties and high abrasion resistance.

Beech can shrink considerably and is subject to movement more than other woods. It should not be subject to moisture fluctuations before or during working.

Usage

Despite its hardness, beech wood can be worked easily. It can be cut, planed, drilled and milled. When steam-treated it is well-suited, like the ash, to bending into form.

Surface finishing is straightforward. It can be stained, painted and polished. As compensation for its low durability it is well suited for impregnation.

Dimensions

Beech is available as round or sawn timber as well as veneer.

Applications. Plywood, Bent-ply, formed multiplex. Furniture, chairs and tables. Interior furnishing, stairs, parquet flooring. Tools, household equipment. Model building. Pianos. Toys

OakPropertiesOak wood is hard and heavy, but nonetheless elastic.The heartwood is very resil ient, and durable even under water.

Usage

Oak wood dries slowly. This means that artificial drying should be undertaken with care to avoid cracking and warping. Oak shrinkage is negligible and stability is good.

It can be worked easily with most tools and machinery, it can be split easily and is well suited for use as a veneer. Nails and screw-fixings are straightforward. Surface finishing is generally not a problem.Its high tannic acid content can lead to coloration when in contact with iron due to chemical reactions.

Dimensions

Oak is available as round or sawn timber, or as a veneer.

Applications. Construction. Furniture and interior furnishing. Barrels and tubs. Floor boarding and parquet. Hydraulic engineering, Bridge building

WalnutPropertiesWalnut wood is relatively heavy and hard and resilient. It is resistant to warping and is subject to only light shrinkage. It has good strength but only limited durability when exposed to the weather.

Usage

Walnut wood is easy to work and smooth, especially for turning, carving or profiling. Surface finishing is straightforward.Surface blemishing can occur when wet and in contact with iron.

Dimensions

Walnut is available as round or sawn timber as well as veneer.

Applications. Solid wood or veneer: Furniture and musical instruments. Interior Decoration: Stairs and doors . Flooring and parquet,. Rifle and shotgun handles

HPL or High Pressure Laminate

HPL is about the most durable laminate available.It is made of several sheets of paper that get bonded together using high pressure presses.

It is used in many horizontal applications such as counter tops and higher quality table tops. On vertical surfaces, it is commonly used for doors and drawer fronts of cabinets.

HPL has higher impact resistance than most other laminates. The product gets glued on to the panel generally using a PVA glue. Usually a backer is used to prevent warping or the coloured laminate is on both surfaces.
