Find Address

Find address is one of the most challenging aspects of any navigation tool. When comparing Pakistani addresses to European or American addresses we can surely tell you that our addressing schemes are more complex and do not follow the same structure or standards. At times we have different addressing schemes within the cities of Pakistan. To combat this we have manipulated the tolerance levels of the search ranges which drastically increase the output or search results. i.e. fetching additional results since the probability of anyone typing an exact match to his or her desired address is low. You would have to agree that our streets and areas differ in spelling and at times even names; therefore we had to come up with a solution that displayed all possible contenders plus the actual desired location in a list for you to choose from. Below is a simple reference guide which may help you find the addresses you’re looking for. There are three examples which cover Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. This document also includes a reference to all the areas covered within these three major cities. Our GIS team is continuously conducting road network and landmark surveys and an expansion list will follow in newer versions of this document.

Example 1 – Islamabad

Starting from the top we choose Pakistan from the country list Moving on we select the dropdown list of City or City Area

It is important to note here that the drop down list is very customizable i.e. you may add or even edit its text to suit your requirement. You may type in an area (after the city) which might not be present in the drop down list.

Moving on we should mention the Block or phase. In this case, we have to

mention F-10/3 since it was not mentioned in City or City Area. By putting in the Street number and house number and pressing Find the

application returns a unique address

Road or Street can be confusing but at times we have a street number which follow ‘street’ and at times the number precedes ‘street’ i.e. Street 9 and 9th Street respectively

Once you have the location you desire picked there are several options you have. We selected Show Map and the results are on your right.

By selecting Show Map you open up the digital map and the address you picked out is shown by a house icon and centered on your handset’s

screen

At times we forget or don’t have the time to enter all the details, this is

where MobiTrack sense kicks in and uses its fuzzy logic to find all possible contenders plus your desired result as shown on your right

The output results are show here and from a list of four we can easily select the one we were looking for.

Example 2 – Karachi

Starting from the top we choose Pakistan from the country list and select Karachi DHA from City or City Area dropdown list. We only jot down Phase 5 in

the Phase, Block or Area field and House number in the House or Plot number field. We get a total of 33 results which is certainly a hassle to choose from, but fortunately since the results are sorted by name we find the closest matches displayed at the top of the list.

Here we show you what a difference it makes by adding a street to the

input fields. The application returns a unique address and the map is shown below
