• Do not disassemble or modify dehumidifierparts or components. It may cause electdcshock and failure.

• Plug in the power cordproperly.• Do not turn the unit on and off by insertingor pulling out the power plug.

• Do not damage the power cord or use anunspecified power cord.

• Do not modify power cord length.• Do not share the outlet with another appli-ance.

• Always plug into a grounded outlet. Notgrounding unit may cause electrical shock.

• When removing the filter, be aware thatsome metal parts may have sharp edgesand may cause injury.

• Do not use the water collectedin thebucket for drinking purposes. It is notsanitary and could cause illness.

• Do not allow children to play with thisproduct.

Tips. Make sure the dehumidifier is the correctsize for the area you want to dehumidify.It is not designed to dehumidify the entirehouse.

• For proper operation, the dehumidifiershould only be placed on a level floor.

• Close all doors, windows and otheropenings to the room. The dehumidifiermust operate inan enclosed area to beeffective.

• To clean, use a soft cloth; do not usewax, thinners, or strong detergents asthey may change the color of the unit orcause surface damage.

• Be sure to replace the bucket properlyafter emptying to prevent water from col-lecting on the floor causing damage tosome types of flooring.

° Do not put a pet or house plant where itwill be exposed to direct air flow. Thiscould injure the pet or plant.

• Operation without filter will cause unitfailure. Insert the filter securely. Clean itevery two weeks. (See Care and Mainte-nance section in thismanual.)

• For best performance, allow at least12-18 inches of air space on all sidesof the unit for good air circufation.

• Keep alf outside doors, windows andother openings closed when operat-ing the dehumidifier. Humid outdoorair will add to the unit's workload.

DEFROST OPERATION

The dehumidifier has a built-in defrost

control that senses frost buildup on theevaporator coils.

During defrosting, the compressor willautomatically turn off; the fan will con-tinue running to defrost the coils.

CHOOSING THE PROPER LOCATION

Use the dehumidifier:

• in the basement to help preventmoisture damage.

• in theikitchen, laundry room, bath-room,; and spalexercise areas thathave _xcessive moisture.

AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF

• When the bucket is full, or when thebucket is not in the proper position,theBucket Full indicator will lightup andyou willhear a ten secondaudiblealarm. The unit willautomatically shutoff.

• The bucket must be placed in theproper positionfor the dehumidifier towork.The Bucket Full lightwillstay onand the dehumidifierwill notrun if thebucket is not in the proper position.

• The dehumidifier will shut offonce thedesired humidity settingis reachedplus or minus 5% Relative Humidity(RH).

POWER ONtOFF (1)Once the unit is plugged in, the POWER INDI-CATOR (t0) will light up. Pressing the Powerbutton once will turn the unit ON and illuminatethe digital display (9). The display will show thehumidity level of the room in 5% incrementsdown to 25%. Pressing the Power button againwill turn the display OFF and the unit will ceaseoperating.

HUMIDITY LEVEL (2/3)The humidity level can be set in 5% incrementsin a range from 35% to 80%. The humiditysetting is shown in the digital display. When thehumidity level of the room reaches the setlevel, the unit will stop dehumidifying.To set the unit to continuous operation, pressthe down arrow button until the display shows35%. Press again and the display will show

CO. The Continuous indicator (13) will light upon the control panel. To leave continuous op-eration, press the up arrow button.To check the current humidity setting, press theup or down arrow button. The display will showand set 5% above or below the current setting.

BUCKET FULL INDICATOR (11)When the collection bucket is full, the BUCKETFULL indicator (11) will light up and you willhear an audible alarm. The audible alarm willlast up to ten seconds The dehumidifier will notrun until the bucket is removed, emptied andreplaced.

DELAY START (4)Unit can be programmed to turnon at a desireddelay time bypressing theTimer (4) key.When the unit is poweredOFF, pressthetimerkeyoncefor 2-hourdelay start.The 2 Hrs (7)timer indicatorwill lightupwhen the timerkeyispressed.Pressthe timerkey once morefor a4-hourdelay start.The 4 Hrs (7) timer indicatorwillnow lightup. Pressthetimerkey a thirdtimeto clear thetimersetting.No timer indica-tors willlightupwhen thetimersettingiscleared.

AUTO SHUT-OFF (4)Unit can be programmed to turn off at a desiredtime by pressing the Timer (4) key. When theunit is powered ON, press the timer key oncefor 2-hour automatic shut-off. The 2 Hrs (7)timer indicator will light up when the timer keyis pressed. Press the timer key once more for a4-hour automatic shut-off. The 4 Hrs (7) timerindicator will now light up. Press the timer key athird time to clear the timer setting. No timerindicators will light up when the timer setting iscleared.

FILTER RESET (12)The FILTER RESET indicator (12) will light upwhen the filter needs cleaning, Remove thefilter and clean accordingly. Replace the filterwhen finished and press and hold the FILTER(6) key up to 5 seconds to reset the filter indi-cator.

CLEANING THE AIR FILTERAfter 250 hours of operation the FILTERRESET indicator will lightup to remindyou to clean and change the air filter.

It is recommended to periodically checkthe filter for excess dirt even if theFILTER RESET indicator is off.

1. To remove the air filter, press the twofilter tabs and pull the filter holderaway from the back 0fthe unit.

2. Remove the filter and clean withwarm, soapy water. Rinse and allowthe filter to dry before placing back inthe unit.

3. Place the filter back into dehumidifier.Plug unit back into outlet, power theunit on and press and hold the FIL-TER key up to 5 seconds on the con-trol panel to reset the filter setting.

NOTE: DO NOT place the filter in adishwasher

CAUTION: DO NOT operate the dehu-midifier without a filter. Doing so maycause a unit failure.

• Disconnect power supply cord fromreceptacle before performinganymaintenance.

CLEANING THE EXTERIORClean the cabinet usinga damp clothand a mild detergent. Do not use bleachor abrasives.

CONTROL PANELWipe down the control panel with a drycloth.

CLEANING THE BUCKETEvery few weeks, clean the dehumidifierbucket. Partially fill the bucketwithclean water and mild detergent. Swishthe mixture around in the bucket, emptyand rinse. Replace the bucket whenfinished

The bucket must be in place and securelyseated for the dehumidifier to operate.

There is a protective time delay (up to 3 rain.)to prevent tdpping of the compressor overload.For this reason, the unit may not start normaldehumidification for 3 rain. after it is poweredback on.
