PENDAHULUAN

ProModel (Production Modeler) by PROMODEL corporation adalah tools simulasi untuk memodelkan berbagai sistem manufaktur dan jasa.

Sistem manufaktur seperti jobs shops, konveyor, mass production, lini perakitan, flexible manufacturing system, crane, sistem JIT, sistem kanban, dst, dapat dimodelkan dengan ProModel

Sistem jasa seperti rumah sakit, call centers, sistem transportasi, sistem informasi, manajemen pelayanan pelanggan, rantai distribusi, sistem logistik, dan bisnis proses lainnya juga dapat dimodelkan secara efisien dan cepat dengan ProModel

Promodel merupakan tools yang dapat digunakan untuk menguji berbagai alternatif rancangan, ide, dan peta proses sebelum implementasi aktual. Peningkatan pada sistem yang sudah ada atau desain sistem baru dapat dimodelkan dan di uji sebelum mengeluarkan uang, waktu atau sumberdaya lainnya.

At call center for California Cellular, customer service associates are employed to respond to customer calls and complaints. On average, 10 customers call per hour. The time between two calls is exponentially distributed with a mean 6 minutes. Responding to each call takes a time that varies from a low of 2 minutes to a high of 10 minutes, with a mean of 6 minutes. If the company had a policy that

Case Study 1: Barbershop Asgar

Customers visit barbershop Asgar for a haircut. The customers interarrival time is exponentially distributed with an average of 10 minutes. Dais (the barber) takes (mean and half-width of 9 and 1 minute) uniformly distributed for each haircut. Run the simulation for one day (480 minutes). Find:

b. What is the average number of customers waiting to get a haircut? What is the maximum?

Case Study 2: Antrian ATM

Customers arrive to use the ATM. The average customer inter-arrival time is 3.0 minutes exponentially distributed. When customers arrive to the system they join a queue to wait for their turn. Customers spend an average 2.4 minutes exponentially distributed at the ATM. Run the simulation for 980 hours

Case Study 3: Multiple Location & Entities

Wooden logs are received at the receiving dock of the Poly Furniture Factory at the rate of one every 10 minutes. Logs go to the splitter, where four pieces are made from each log. The splitting time is Normal (4,1) minutes. The individual pieces go to the lathe, where they are turned for another Triangular (3,6,9) minutes and made into rounds. The rounds go on to a paint booth, where they are converted into painted logs. Painting takes Exponential (5) minutes. Painted logs go to the store. Make simulation model and run the simulation for 10 hours

Case Study 4: Add Location & Graph

Case Study 5: Capacity versus Units

At San Dimas Electronic (PCB), jobs arrive at three identical inspection machines according to an exponential distribution with a mean interarrival time of 12 minutes. The first available machine is selected. Processing on any of the parallel machines is normally distributed with a mean of 10 minutes and a standard deviation of 3 minutes. Upon completion, all jobs are sent to a fourth machine, where they queue up for date stamping and packing for shipment; this take five minutes normally distributed with a standard deviation of two minutes.Run the simulation for one month (20 days, eight hours each).

Case Study 6: Routing Rules

Amar, Akbar, and Anthony are three tellers in the local branch of Bank of Indonesia. Assume the customers arrive at the bank according to a uniform distribution (mean of five minutes and half-width of four minutes). All the tellers service the customers according to another uniform distribution (mean of 10 minutes and half-width of 6 minutes). However, the customers prefer Amar to Akbar, and Akbar over Anthony. If the teller of choice busy, the customers choose the first available teller. Simulate the system for 200 customer service completions.

KESIMPULAN

Pemodelan dan Simulasi dapat diaplikasikan baik pada industri manufaktur ataupun industri jasa (services).

Penggunaan pemodelan dan simulasi akan memberikan gambaran secara nyata sebelum memutuskan untuk implementasi aktual.

Penggunaan pemodelan dan simulasi dapat menghemat waktu, biaya yang dikeluarkan ketika memutuskan untuk membangun sistem yang sesungguhnya (aktual).
