There is a wide variety of media which can be played in an IVC room. Some of the formats which media can be played in an IVC are the following: VHS DVD CD ROM Streaming Media

An IVC instructor can play a VHS or a DVD by selecting the VCR Player or DVD Player icon on the AMX panel.

There are two VHS Decks in a Polycom (AMX and Viewstation) room. One for playing videos and the other for recording IVC class sessions. The record VCR is generally on the right console and the play VCR is on the left console.

Note: It is important to make sure a tape is in the device before selecting the VCR Player icon from the AMX panel.

The Play VCR Control button allows IVC instructors to play video tapes at both the local and remote sites.

Instructors can Rewind, Forward, Play, Stop and Eject the VHS tapes from the AMX Touch Panel.

To record an IVC class session, select the REC VCR CONTROL icon. (last icon on the right in the lower right hand portion of the AMX Touch Panel)

In order to record BOTH the near and far sites, it is recommended to select “Auto” from the Record Source dialog box.

Within the REC VCR CONTROL dialog box, an instructor can pause, stop, record, rewind and forward a VHS tape.

CONTROL icon just above the VCR PLAYER icon.

After the VCR PLAYER icon is selected on the AMX panel, the audio from a pre-selected cable station can be heard at both the local and remote sites.

The cable broadcast will stop as soon as the PLAY icon is selected from the VCR Control window.

DVD at both the Local and Remote sites. Select the DVD CONTROL button to open the control panel for the DVD player.

The CONFIG options and SKIP BACK/SKIP NEXT allow the instructor to quickly navigate to the appropriate DVD location.

To play a video or DVD using the VTEL Penpal, select the VHS Video icon (just below #4) from the Penpal panel.

To Record an IVC class session using the VTEL Penpal, select the VCR RECORD and LOCAL icons from the Penpal panel.

Note: You need to manually turn on the record VCR and press the Record button from the VCR Recorder controls.

IVC rooms are equipped with Polycom conference phones.

If the IVC connection is lost, an instructor can maintain a connection to the remote site by calling the remote site with the speaker phone.

Dial “9” to get an outside line or dial 3-EXT for an ACC IVC room.

Fax machines allow IVC instructors to send or receive assignments, exercises, quizzes, exams, and other important class documents.

The IVC rooms are equipped with speakers placed around the perimeter of the room.

This system provides surround sound for IVC class presentations.
