Reliable conveying from 1 to 250 t/h

ApplicationsThe pneumatic transport of bulk materials in conveying pipes is carried out mainly by the use of compressed air. The conveying material has to be transported from the area at atmospheric pressure into the high-pressure area with the greatest possible continuity. For this the MÖLLER® Pump is excellent suitable and already in operation world-wide for more than thousand times. It is the heart of pneumatic transport of cement, lime, gypsum, fly ash, aluminium oxide, copper concentrate, coal dust and many other bulk materials for capacities from 1 to 250 t/h.

OperationThe material is fed continuously into the inlet and transported by a high-speed screw, working like a press,

to the so called “mixer head”, which is mounted at a right angle to the screw housing outlet. It can be rotated by 360°, this allows adjustment to all possible conveying directions. The material is taken in the mixer head by the airstream from the nozzle and transported through the conveying line to the receiving station. The seal between the atmospheric pressure at the inlet and the high pressure conveying line is made by a bulk plug at the end of the screw. The adjustment between the screw diameter, the screw pitch and the speed guarantees the best possible plug formation. As the use of a non return valve at the outlet of the screw has been avoided, there are no moving parts other than the screw itself. This construction design leads to pulsation-free conveying, an essential element in such installations as burner feeding.

Economic efficiencyThe MÖLLER Pump is characterized by an exceptionally sturdy design, if required also available in shock-proof construction according to ATEX code, for example for the transport of coal dust. The conveying screw is standard hard faced. The type of hard facing is adapted according to the conveying material characteristics. An air loaded labyrinth seal, maintenance free, closes

off the screw shaft entry into the casing. The conveying screw is tripartite and can therefore be exchanged easily and cost-efficient. The high-quality wear protection of the conveying screw and the casing ensures long term service.

ApplicationsThe MÖLLER™ Valve is a shut-off device for the fully open and closed position in pneumatic conveying systems.

It provides for pressure tight closing of pressure vessels at the inlet after filling, and is also used as shut-off device at the pressure vessel outlet, the area subject to the highest pressure load.Additionally, MÖLLER valves will be used as 2-way diverter valves in conveying pipes.

Technical conceptionWhen opened, the MÖLLER valve frees the complete valve passage. As a result material flow is not impeded by any installation on which material may be deposited or wear may occur. Due to the sturdy design of the MÖLLER valve the spherical cap can cut through a full material flow without problems and the valve can reliably seal a pressurized pressure vessel. To realize a few 100.000 cycles even under rigorous conditions the spherical cap is provided with a high-grade wear protection on which the inflatable MÖLLER gasket provides reliable sealing. An integrated control system activates all open and close functions and monitors the inflatable MÖLLER gasket. Compressed air of pe = 5.5 bar min. is required to actuate the pneumatic rotary drive. Moreover it must be ensured that the control air pressure, which also activates the inflatable MÖLLER gasket, is always 1 bar higher than the pressure vessel pressure. The MÖLLER valve must always be installed with the shaft positioned horizontally.

At a glanceThe solenoid valves, pressure switches and accessories required for the operation of the MÖLLER valve are installed in a metal housing. Position and pressure indication for inflatable sealing is by diodes installed outside the housing. Function tests can be performed via the integrated key switch.

The process control system handles the MÖLLER valve like an actuating drive. Floating contacts are available for position feedback.

Economic efficiencyThe design of the MÖLLER valve aims at a high benefit for the user. The simple installation with only one main air connection and one common terminal strip for all electric compo-nents are only one aspect. Ease of servicing is provided by the modular design of the MÖLLER valve which results in a minimum expenditure of time for replacing wearing parts. Due to the sturdy design and the high-grade wear protection long service lives are achieved.

The right direction

Possible applicationsMainly power plants, cement and metallurgic industry, but also all other industries where powdery, fine-grained and granulated bulk material has to be conveyed pneumatically and distributed to various receiving stations, e. g. silo facilities.

Operation The MÖLLER® two-way diverter valve has a straight passage and a branch pipe mounted at an angle of 25°. One of the two outlets is always completely closed by a slide plate. The diverter valve can be installed horizontally or vertically. The branch pipe can be mounted on the right or left, depend-ing on the pipeline routing. The slide plate is activated by a shaft and a lever and moves on an exchangeable wear protection plate. A special construction ensures tight sealing of the slide plate. Switchover is possible only when conveying operations have been stopped. The two-way diverter valve is available for all commonly used nominal widths and can therefore be installed in almost all pipeline systems.

Economic efficiencyThe slide plate is provided with a special coating which guarantees low friction and thus optimum sliding behaviour. It is constantly pressed against the wear protection plate, and adjustment of the surfaces by the lap-in process ensures long-term sealing of the branch pipes. Minimum friction and pressure loss due to only a 25° deflection of the material flow in the housing. When the slide plate or wear protection plate has to be

replaced, this can be done without dead time and without removing the housing. Such maintenance and repair work can be carried out through a bottom cover without removing the diverter valve from the pipeline system. An efficient production process and high operational reliability are achieved by the use of high-quality materials and components from renowned manufacturers.

It is part of a system in which loose material falls through the shut-off slide valve from the top. The shut-off slide valve is designed to shut off or release this passage. It is not suitible for sealing rooms of different pressure levels against each other. Continuous control or shut-off of material flows

Range of applicationRotary flow control valve and rotary shut-off valve are designed for use in all industrial areas in which powdery bulk materials are processed, conveyed, stored, distributed, weighed or metered. The rotary flow control valve is responsible for precise and continuous adjustment of the bulk material flow from bins and silos. The rotary shut-off valve is used where quick and reliable shut-off is neces-sary. The two valves are suitable for material flows from 10 to 1000 m³/h.

Technichal designThe rotary flow control valve can shut off and adjust any desired bulk material flow between 10 and 100 % by means of a specially shaped metering section. Further turning of the rotary valve will provide a cleaning hole through which contaminant can easily flow out.

Due to its technical design the rotary shut-off valve is suitable for quick and reliable shut-off. On request any desired intermediate position can be adjusted via a special valve control

system. Moreover, the maximum opening cross-section can be limited by a stroke limiter.

The housing bottom of each valve is equipped with a fluidization fabric to prevent tearing off or deceleration of the material flow. The sealing frame made of cast iron is flexibly attached to the housing and is continuously pressed against the rotary valve casing by self-readjusting spiral springs.

Economic efficiencyAdjustment of the frame to the surface of the rotary valve casing ensures optimum sealing with good antifriction properties. This helps to extend maintenance intervals and save repair costs.

If nevertheless replacement of sealing frame, rotary valve or fluidization fabric becomes necessary, replacement is possible without removal of the housing within short time. High-quality materials and drive systems from renowned manufacturers ensure high operational reliability and thus an

efficient production process.

Continuous control or shut-off of material flows

Range of applicationRotary flow control valve and rotary shut-off valve are designed for use in all industrial areas in which powdery bulk materials are processed, conveyed, stored, distributed, weighed or metered. The rotary flow control valve is responsible for precise and continuous adjustment of the bulk material flow from bins and silos. The rotary shut-off valve is used where quick and reliable shut-off is neces-sary. The two valves are suitable for material flows from 10 to 1000 m³/h.

Technichal designThe rotary flow control valve can shut off and adjust any desired bulk material flow between 10 and 100 % by means of a specially shaped metering section. Further turning of the rotary valve will provide a cleaning hole through which contaminant can easily flow out.

Due to its technical design the rotary shut-off valve is suitable for quick and reliable shut-off. On request any desired intermediate position can be adjusted via a special valve control

system. Moreover, the maximum opening cross-section can be limited by a stroke limiter.

The housing bottom of each valve is equipped with a fluidization fabric to prevent tearing off or deceleration of the material flow. The sealing frame made of cast iron is flexibly attached to the housing and is continuously pressed against the rotary valve casing by self-readjusting spiral springs.

Economic efficiencyAdjustment of the frame to the surface of the rotary valve casing ensures optimum sealing with good antifriction properties. This helps to extend maintenance intervals and save repair costs.

If nevertheless replacement of sealing frame, rotary valve or fluidization fabric becomes necessary, replacement is possible without removal of the housing within short time. High-quality materials and drive systems from renowned manufacturers ensure high operational reliability and thus an

efficient production process.

Range of applicationLoading of powdery bulk materials onto open or closed trucks and ships must be effected dust-free and at high loading rates. MÖLLER® loading systems are used world-wide for loading fly ash, cement, lime, gypsum, aluminum oxide, ore dusts, chemical raw materials and similar bulk materials. Loading rates of up to 200 t/h for trucks and up to 1.000 t/h for ships are achieved.

Technical conceptThe standard design loading system is equipped with a flexible double hose. The bulk material is conveyed through the internal hose, the dust escapes through the external hose via the dedusting socket. For highly abrasive materials the internal hose can be replaced by a steel telescope pipe or by bucket segments. The lifting heights can be adjusted to the local conditions.

All standard-design systems are equipped with a motor winch with single wire rope suspension, slack rope switch, a FULL level limit switch and a locking cone at the outlet. Operation is done with a locally pendant control station.

Special designFor loading ships the loading system can also be supplied with open outlet, without locking cone and with a dedusting apron.

Besides the stationary system also a mobile system running on rails is available. The maximum roadway is 11 meters. Energy supply is effected via a trailing cable. The system is always driven by an electric motor.

ApplicationsThe MÖLLER® Airlift has been developed for vertical transportation of powdery and fine-grained bulk materials.

It is used world-wide for hundreds of applications in the cement-, lime-, gypsum industry, in metallurgical plants, in ash removal installations of power stations, in the aluminium industry and in all other industries where bulk materials have to be conveyed without any problems.

Throughputs up to 800 t/h are possible. A conveying height of more than 100 m can be achieved.

Operation

The Airlift basically consists of the elevator housing (transmitter), the conveying line and the expansion separator (receiver). The communi-cating effect between the material column in the elevator housing and the flowing material-air mixture in the conveying line is utilised for material conveyance.

When the elevator housing is filled, the fluidised bulk material is pressed towards the booster nozzle by the pressure of the material column, and the air jet escaping there conveys the bulk material into the pickup pipe of the conveying line arranged directly above the nozzle.

The material contained in the elevator housing seals off the plant towards the material inlet. The throughput in- creases with rising material level. The cylindrical part of the elevator housing is available in different heights depending on the bulk material to be conveyed and the conveying height. The booster nozzle is centrally arranged in the bottom of the nozzle. Around it are fluidising areas to ensure material flow. A non-return valve prevents that bulk material enters into the air pipe.

At the upper end of the conveying line, material and air flows are separated by the expansion separator and by an additional cyclone. A rotary vane feeder provides for material discharge to the unpressurised area. A bag filter on the silo cleans the exhaust air.

High availabilityThe MÖLLER Airlift does not use any mechanical or drive elements and is therefore not subject to wear to these elements like conventional vertical conveyors.

This means high availability at low specific energy consumption.

The bottom part of the conveying line centrally arranged above the booster nozzle can be exchanged. Inspection glasses are placed in the cylinder for control of the filling level.A control circuit is built up between the Airlift filling level and the feeding dosing unit for fully automatic operation.

Equipment variantsIf extremely abrasive materials are conveyed, the exchangeable pickup pipe will be made of particularly wear resisting material.

The Airlift can be equipped with fluidisation fabric for bulk material temperatures of up to 300°C.

The material can be fed into the upper cylindrical part of the elevator housing vertically or horizontally.

Should the bulk material contain large contaminants the Airlift can be equipped with a grating to remove these contaminants from the conveying process. When the plant is shut down, they can be removed through the manhole.

ApplicationThe MÖLLER® Twin Shaft Paddle Mixer is used wherever large amounts of ash are produced and must be transported. To avoid dust formation during transport on belt conveyors and open vehicles the ash is sprayed with water in the Twin Shaft Paddle Mixer before transport. The humidified ash can then be transported. The maximum loading capacity amounts to 300 m³/h of wet ash.

Technical conceptAt the material inlet the dry ash is fed in controlled quantities into the Twin Shaft Paddle Mixer trough an inlet on the top. In the housing two shafts fitted with conveying and mixing paddles attached with screws rotate in opposite directions, thus circulating and conveying the ash to the material outlet. On the way to the outlet atomised water is sprayed into the ash via high-pressure nozzles and absorbed by the ash.At the material outlet the ash falls soil-damp, dust-free and without free water residue onto a conveyor belt or directly into a loading facility. For this purpose MÖLLER offers a suitable wet loading device which prevents the vapours produced by the hot ash from escaping to the environment.

Economic efficiencyThe MÖLLER Twin Shaft Paddle Mixer is equipped with a generously dimensioned drive which permits continuous operation. The sturdy and reliable construction has only a few wearing parts and works without a central bearing in the worm trough.

Wear is minimum due to the low speed.

The entire worm trough can be accessed via an inspection flap, which is self-locking via gas pressure shock absorbers. This permits quick and easy inspection and replacement of all important components. Also cleaning of the interior is considerably facili-tated. The conveying and mixing paddles are attached to the shafts with screws and can be replaced without dismantling the shaft.

ApplicationsThe MÖLLER® pressure vessel is a conveying unit for the pneumatic transport of powdery or granular bulk materials. It is particularly suitable for conveying fly ash, cement, gypsum, aluminium oxide and can therefore be used in many industries. MÖLLER pressure vessels can be connected either to conventional pipe conveying systems, to the much more efficient MÖLLER TURBUFLOW® system or to the new MÖLLER FLUIDFLOW system. Single pressure vessels are used for batch-wise pneumatic transport; twin or triple pressure vessels also allow continuous operation. The Möller pressure vessel system is designed for capacities up to 300 t/h and conveying distances up to 3000 m.

OperationThe first step in a conveying sequence is to fill the pressure vessel by a buffer silo. A distributor airslide is also in use if twin or triple pressure vessels are applied. After the filling, the pressure vessel is supplied with the required conveying air. A shut-off device then opens the conveying pipe and initiates the conveyance with highest possible pressure until the pressure vessel is empty. An air distribution system controls the optimum bulk material/air mixture of the material flow from the pressure vessel. This results in maximum conveying performance without blocked pipes. In combination with the patented MÖLLER TURBUFLOW conveying pipe the system ensures low-wear and power-saving operation.

The Type M Fuller-Kinyon Pumps are

heavy-duty, screw-type pneumatic

pumps. These pump systems are most

commonly used to convey dry, free-

flowing, pulverized materials from

grinding mills, transfer materials from

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

Fuller-Kinyon Type M Pumps are

constructed of cast iron and steel, and

mounted on a cast iron base. Type M

pumps are equipped with ball

bearings that support a pump screw

at both ends to help provide a

smooth, balanced operation. The

screw is dynamically balanced and

areas of this screw, along with other

parts of the pump in direct contact

made of hardened, wear-resistant

The materials to be conveyed enter the hopper bygravity and are advanced through the barrel by thescrew. The material is compacted as it is advanced.
