5 Objective A major activity taken up is the Women empowerment and Kisan
Melawa where in participants from the surrounding villages gather
together. The main purpose of this is to serve as a platform for exchange
of knowledge, experience amongst womens and farmers. Also to provide
platform to participants to interact with each other, share their
experiences, information about new activities that they have taken up and
the outcomes, impacts and economics of these activities wherever
applicable. In addition practical demonstrations are conducted during the
event. The practical demonstration further strengthens the confidence of
the participants to go in for the particular activity. This acts as a
motivational factor for the participant himself as well as other participants
who can take up these new initiatives.
This also acts as a platform for advertizing the achievements of the
Community Development Project in the time interval. Dignitaries from all

Sri.Nanabhau Patole ( Member of Parliament Bhandara-Gondia Lokasabha
Kshetra addressed the following points to the farmers :
• BAIF –MITTRA needs to initiate an ideal model in village in terms of
ongoing activities.
• Adapt the diversified farming system and avoid the dependency on
mono cropping of Paddy.
• To adopt allied businesses activities along with farming for food
security. Like Poultry, Goat rearing and Livestock management that
the BAIF MITTRA has initiated and suggest to Fishery and Tissue
culture training to the SHG as a Income generation source
• Need to adopt improved techniques of Irrigation and Horticulture
plantation like Pomegranate farming in large scale in 11 Village
through BAIF-MITTRA
• Farmers having milch animals need to focus on dairy farming. Govt
has to liaison with nestle company in Bhandara District to avail the
facilities of Milk Marketing
• Every villager has to participate in Prime Ministers” SWACH BHARAT”
abhiyan.
• He welcomed and appreciated the works initiated by MOIL through
BAIF-MITTA and wishes that it be the model for whole Bhandara
district in near future.
• At the end he lauded and expressed their compliments for the farmers
to participate in huge numbers, especially women, in the event and
microenterprises initiated of SHG through BAIF-MITTRA
9. Exhibition
Stalls
Total 5 stalls were set up during the event
• MOIL MITTRA CDP Project with details on various components and its
activities with pictorials. Live demo models of integrated bio gas unit,
goat platform, vermi-composting unit, fodder strips, were also
displayed along with a prototype of water conveyance device.
Innovative techniques were also displayed in the stall.
• Agriculture Department – on new technologies and practices of the
area, its schemes & benefits.
• Self- help Group Stalls – Displaying the Food products for sale and
Craft material – Promoted as microenterprises by MITTRA –CDP
Project
• Progressive Farmers – Displaying organically produced Ginger,
Sugarcane etc.
• Jain Irrigation – Information and system of Drip irrigation in Various
crops and solar water Pumping

. Highlights
• Participants shared their experiences on respective interventions and
their output, and advised other participants to participate in the
programme
• Participants appreciated the support of MOIL and motivation cum
facilitation from MITTRA for the adaptation of project interventions
• Technical Experts from Agriculture and Livestock departments shared
their schemes and also had a interactive session with participants and
answered their queries
• Recently born calves were also exhibited during the events
• Field Visit was organized for the honorable guests covering bio gas
units, newly born calves, schools with e-learning units, vermin
composting units and kitchen garden during the Melawa.
• There was a interactive session between participant s and project
team on the various interventions of MOIL CDP Project
