» Books» TV Programmes» Video» Film, » Music» Games and much more…..
involve an entire value-chain and create new services
This calls for new capabilities in the areas of processing, management
and distribution of digital assets.
This is where the DX comes in…
As part of the overall Connected Singapore blueprint,
IDA’s DX initiative aims to:
position Singapore as the global distribution hub and trading center
for the processing, management and distribution of digital assets.
The Digital Exchange Ecosystem
The Digital Exchange is an ecosystem that Singapore is building for the processing,
management and distribution of digital assets through three key
areas: Digital Factory, Digital Highway and DigiPort.
DX is Leveraging on:
Singapore’s excellent international telecommunications connectivity– 26 terabits per second of high-speed submarine
capacity.
Pro-business environment Established legal and financial frameworks Ready Pool of Skilled Manpower
DX will create
a new source of growth and extends Singapore’s hub status in the digital realm.
But How is it going about it?
To position Singapore as the DX, IDA will focus on three areas:
Digital Games Digital Cinema Interactive Entertainment &
Computer Animation
Digital Games
PC and Video games have become an attractive medium of Entertainment
With Asia as the new hotspot
Singapore conducts WCG…With Massively Multi-Player Online Role
Playing Games >> “lived and Breathed” as long as they have broadband connection
>> breaking down traditional Barriers
Digital Cinema
Benefits of Digital Cinema• Cost-Savings in distribution and allows greater flexibility
• With such capacity, theoretically, we can transmit the entire "Titanic" movie from Hollywood to Singapore in a fraction of a second!
• More Content Offerings and Better Viewing Experience• Digital cinema enables exhibitors to offer an additional range of
content from music concerts to sports to ‘live’ dialogue sessions• Better audio and visual qualities.
Computer Animation Exchange
• The global Computer Animation industry is a high growth area and is forecasted to grow to US$33 billion by 2008.
• Today, almost every major feature film and television program uses Computer Animation and special effects.
• CA’s use in corporate and industrial applications like architectural visualization and engineering simulations.
Services that come along with CAX:Digital Fedex
Digital Banking
"The future is digital and the digital bank shall be a virtual resource pool where animation studios
could rent digital assets and monetize the same.”
– This would save time and cost for one party using the content created by another & would monetize assets for that other party
involved.
