Students made four pockets inside their folder to hold their notes. Students labeled the pockets for
the four categories to be studied: looks like, development, food and habitat.
Next students read books and watched educational videos about the Monarch Butterfly’s life cycle.
Students took notes on index cards.
Next, students worked as a class to construct paragraphs for each category, based on their topic
sentences.
