MonarchODU Wireless Android Automatic Setup

To access the automated setup please connect to the AccessODU network and go to http://onramp.wlan.odu.edu/ Android devices which have been rooted will not be supported by the Technical Support Center, if you encounter problems on a rooted device please restore it to a non-rooted state and try again.

Automatic Setup:

On the first page please check that you accept the End-User License Agreement and tap ‘Start’

Next you will need to install the XpressConnect application You can choose between various App Stores to download it from This tutorial will show via Google Marketplace (Google Play) To start the download tap on the ‘Install’ button

Click the ‘Install’ button in the Google Play window to start installing the application from Google

When prompted tap ‘Accept & download’

Wait for the download to complete

Wait for the application to install

Once the installation is complete it will have buttons for ‘Open’ and ‘Uninstall’ At this time you can exit out of the App Store and go back to your web browser

Now to configure MonarchODU with the XpressConnect application tap the link titled “click on this link to be walked through the configuration of your Android device”

When prompted that the content is downloadable and executable tap on “Execute” to launch the configuration application

The XpressConnect application will now open and load the configuration file you just downloaded

When prompted enter your MIDAS ID and Password then tap ‘Continue’

You will be prompted to create a password with which to secure your stored passwords on the Android device This password does not need to be your MIDAS password and is unique and local to your Android device

On this screen create and verify a password for your credential storage This password does not need to be your MIDAS password and is unique and local to your Android device Make sure you remember the password as you will need it when you want to change passwords on your Android device in the future

Now the Android device will attempt to join the MonarchODU network, you will see it go through several steps while it connects

When you get to this screen your Android device is fully configured and connected to MonarchODU You can either click on ‘Done’ or click on ‘Rate this app’ to provide your opinion on the application to the developers

When you close the application you will be asked to submit a report on your device to help with improving the application You may click ‘Yes’ if you wish to provide this information or ‘No’ if you do not with to
