Planner:– ReTEST today after school or Wednesday before
school in this roomYou Need:– Today: Daily 5!
Do Now: – Take out the “Cell Form and Function” handout for
me to stamp.– “A” get posters – you have 8 mins to complete and
then you need to pass in for grade
Learning Target • Students will
understand the similarities and differences between animal and plant cells
Cell Specialization
• Prokaryotic vs. Eukaryotic
TuesdayDecember 2, 2014
Planner:– ReTEST Wednesday before school in this room– Lesson 7 – Plant and Animal Cells – due tomorrow
You Need:– Today: Daily 5!
Do Now: Pick up 2 handouts for today’s labGlossary: organelle: one of the many structures in a cell that perform a specific function Cell membrane: outermost living layer of plant and animal cells that regulates what enters and leaves cell
Learning Target • Students will
observe, identify and label the similarities and differences between animal and plant cells
Lesson 7 Plant and Animal Cells
• Follow all guidelines for scientific drawings–Plants• Spirogyra (prepared)•Onion leaf (stained rust color)• Elodea in fresh water• Elodea in salt water (tape on slide)
Pond Reflection Papers
• Observations over 4 weeks – pretty good• Reflections about why those changes occurred
– often missing– Why did organisms suddenly appear after a couple
of weeks - where did they come from?– Why did the leaves disintegrate?– Why did the water get dark and murky?– Where did the rice go?– Why did the lemna multiply?

Planner:– Check Gradebook!– Lesson 7 lab due tomorrow– Cells Test Tuesday
You Need:– Today: Daily 5!
Do Now: Set up page 60 in NB for Learning Check #6Glossary: nucleus: contains the cell’s genetic program (DNA) cytoplasm: gel like substance within the cell membrane and outside the nucleus

You Need:– Today: Daily 5!
Do Now: Glossary: Prokaryotic: Cells that do not have membrane bound structures (no nucleus) Eukaryotic: Cells that have membrane bound structures (nucleus and other organelles)Take out Lesson 7 -be ready to discuss and correct!!!
