When you think of a mind map or an idea map, does something like these come to mind?


In this example, the 4 seasons radiate from the hub and the months from the respective season

Here, “the color blue” is thought of in 4 ways

1. Sky2. Earth3. Water4. Favourite Color


Mind maps (or idea maps) generally are visual, non-linear representations of a word or idea to which associated ideas, words and concepts are added.


A mind map reflects that which is thought about a single topic, which can focus group brainstorming.

Ideas can be randomly “mapped”, with placement relative to key terms.


Another term that is often used in the same vein is concept map.

A concept map can be thought of as showing the relationships among concepts.

A concept map often has connective phrases such as "gives rise to", "results in", "is required by," or "contributes to“ to help define relationships.
