*Bolded items in the schedule are explained in more detail below
The Lynx CoR spends a lot of the day together and may
choose, as a group, options other than what is written on
this schedule. There are also times when Lynx students may
choose Badger options.
Open Den: Students may choose from self-directed projects
anywhere in the Den (large classroom). Some tables will be
set up with an interesting art or science project including
directions and questions to think about. Other options
(building blocks, Legos, K’nex, felt board, library, games, etc.)
will always be available for students to access themselves.
Morning Movement: All students may choose from a
number of moving options like Aerobics/Line Dancing,
Musical Jump Ropes & Hula Hoops, “Walkabout” on the big
field and Wheels!
Enrichment Assisstants: Our staff has created several in-depth
Enrichment classes that take place over one week. This
summer, all Lynx will be expected to support staff as
Enrichment Assistants. They will pick their 1st, 2nd and 3rd
choices and will be assigned to an enrichment class based on
availability. Please see the Summer Games/Enrichment
Schedule for more information about enrichment
choices/descriptions. REMEMBER - You must arrive at BT
by 9:50 AM for enrichment classes. Late arrivals may have
to make other choices.
Lynx Projects: Project choices are listed on the “Lynx
Summer Schedule” calendar (See the other side of this page).
Activities are opportunities for learning and include elements
of SPS academic standards and are flexible enough for
individual creativity and expression. Most curriculum options
have been chosen by the Lynx group themselves.
Blackie’s Games: Games are listed for each day on his
separate schedule. There will also be a time slot at the end of
the day for a game students choose themselves. They will
use various approaches designed to build skills and expand
understanding of rule concepts and applications.
Water Time: Any student may choose to join the outside
fun with water when it’s offered according to their CoR
assignment (on Blackie’s Schedule). However, they must
have a swimsuit or “wet” clothes (no jeans) and a towel!
Curriculum can vary with sprinklers, slip-n-slides or water
balloons, etc. Check “Blackie’s Schedule” for more
information.
WHEELS!: (This option will be available during Morning
Movement and certain recess time slots. Check with Andy for
more details.) This choice was created so kids can build their
“wheel powered” skills. The time of day for bikes, scooters or
skates (NO skateboards) may vary. You & your child must
meet all our requirements (signed contract & equipment fit &
condition check) to take part. Participation is completely at
BT staff discretion.
ASL Practice/Reading Buddies: These are Lynx specific
activities. We will be learning/reacquainting ourselves with
American Sign Language to help us communicate with an ever
growing community. We will also be pairing up with some
Badgers to provide reading support and guidance.
Fieldtrips on the calendar begin at 9:00 AM sharp (unless
otherwise stated). We plan to return by 5:30 PM. Make sure
you check for each specific fieldtrip cell phone number
(posted next to sign-in sheet) so you may contact the group,
if necessary. For reference:
Rita’s cell number is (206) 459-4976
Mckinsey’s cell number is (206) 914-2494
Certain fieldtrips may have an added cost and/or may have
attendance restrictions.
For safety concerns, late arrivals may NOT join fieldtrips.
Walking Fieldtrips are possible on any given day and are not
marked on the schedule. The teachers will have radios and
will stay relatively close to Pathfinder on this kind of walk.
