DIAMOND IN THE DIRT

After travelling to a local basebal tournament, 14-year-old Kalel Langford decided to paid aviset to the nearby Crater of Diamonds State Park.

Within half an hour of arriving at the park, Kalel discoverd the 7th largest diamond found atthe Park since it opened in 1972.

While walking near the East Drain, a section in the southern section of the area, Kalelspotted a shiney, dark-brown stone.

‘Its colour was so dark that we weren’t sure if it was a diamond, but we knew we needed tohave it looked at,’ Karl’s father Craig explaind.

The family took the stone to the Diamond Discovery Centre in the park, where Kalel wasthrilled to learn that he had found one of the biggest dimonds in the park’s history!

Religion

Eucharist: Giving thanks

We all love to give and receive gifts. Giving a gift to someone can be a way of showing them we love them or that we want them to know we care about them. It can also be a way of saying thank you to someone. Some gifts can be bought, but there are also gifts that money can’t buy. Sometimes the gifts that money can’t buy are the best gifts!

In your own mind or with conversation with your family, think about:

What do you think are the best gifts that God has given you? Write about them or draw an image of them. How can you use the gifts God has given you to bring joy or comfort to someone

you know – especially now that times are more challenging for all of us. USE your gifts!
