Attention Drivers

Summer Driving Rules! 1. We have 1 entrance and exit to the parking lot. It is the same!

2. All drivers should follow the arrows when entering and exiting the parking lot. It keeps everyone moving and creates a safer environment for our families.

3. We only have 35 parking spots in the lot - always assume you will not get one!

4. We have parking available on both sides of Irving Park Rd.

5. Never drive past the RED LINE! This is where the children walk, play, enter and exit the building. It is not a place for cars. The only cars allowed past the red line are the Revere Park employees driving to their parking area.

6. NEVER double park! Your excuse of I ’m just running in to get my child is not valid. Find a Legal Parking Spot and then pick up or drop off your child. All of our children are important and their safety is at risk when YOU do not follow the rules.

7. NEVER park in the Fire Lane. The lane must be open at all times in case of an emergency (see #6 about excuses, legal parking and following rules)

8. NEVER park at the end of the middle rows next to the playground. (see #2 & #6 the turn is needed to allow for all cars to exit safely and blocking this row will cause cars to backup, possibly cause an accident and probably hurt a child.)

9. If you are NOT handicapped - Do Not Park In the Handicapped Spots! And the excuse of “well if they come, I will move..” - REALLY! They already found a legal spot and are struggling to make their way to the building. Shame on you!! ALSO parking in between the Handicapped spots is NOT LEGAL!

10. Dropping off your child - DROP AND GO! If you “need to see that they got in the building safely - this option is NOT FOR YOU. Find a Legal Spot and walk them in. Besides we have summer morning drop off in the front of the building on Irving Park 8:00 am-9:30 am.

CHALLENGE LEAGUE COED SOCCER

By: Dalia Arroyo, Gabe Parra & Natalia Rueda-Marshall The first game of the day was between the Cosmos and Silverbacks. To start off the game the Silverback were awarded the kick-off. Nathan Dede and Gillian Katz did a great job on defense clearing the ball to Nick Dede and Samantha Reuter on offense. From the Silverbacks Phoenix Arroyo and Alexa Donlan did a good job hustling up and down the field. Throughout the game Gigi and Stephan Gutekanst did a good job maintaining possession of the ball. Teddy Escudier and Saddie Gibbons did an outstanding job passing the ball to each other. Starting off the second half of the game the Cosmos had the kick-off. Catherine Haskell and Hudson Katz did a phenomenal job chasing after the ball to pass it to their teammates. Cooper Jacobsen and Kevin Murphy did a great job helping Senn Novak, Autumn Tolitano, and Johanna Weis on offense. From the Cosmos Callie Possinger and Cash Reese did an outstanding job helping out their goalie. Playing for the Cosmos was Salvador Alvino, Nathan & Nick Dede, Teddy Escudier, Sadie Gibbons, Catherine Haskell, Hudson Katz, James Knowles, Callie Possinger, Cash Reese, Samantha Reuter and Gillian Katz. Playing for the Silverbacks was Phoenix Arroyo, Alexa Donlan, Gigi & Stephan Gutekanst, Cooper Jacobsen, Kevin Murphy, Senn Novak, Autumn Tolitano, and Johanna Weis. Playing this past Saturday were the Foxes and Riverhounds. Both teams played their hardest during their last regular season game. The Foxes did a great job on defense thanks to Oliver Tocci, and goalie Jaylen Clark. The Riverhounds excelled on offense due to Mason James and Andres Aducci. The second half was full of several great saves from both Nathan Alvarez and Franco Pena-Lepe. The Riverhounds, Scarlett Spencer, did a good job clearing the ball. Lucy Flores, for the Foxes, made a strong push on offense. Playing for the Riverhounds were Andres Aducci, Nathan Alvarez, Ainsley Carter, Mason James, Demetrius Monroy, Savanah Spencer, Scar-lett Spencer, and Cresencio Teodoro. Playing for the Foxes were Ade Arroyo, Brooks Beeson, Jaylen Clark, George Flaherty, Lucy Flores, Camille Fox-Raman, Lucy Paskiewicz, Franco Pena-Lepe, and Oliver Tocci. The last game of the day was between the Lynx and the Rhinos. The Lynx started the game with the kickoff and looked to press the ball downfield. Quinn Anderson and Truman Goldberg both found holes in the defense and kept the ball moving. The Rhinos defense came up big when needed as Brielle Heitz and Giovanni Poirier both pressured the ball and helped their goalie out. The Lynx continued to work hard on offense and Amalia Rojas scored the first goal of the game. The Rhinos looked to answer back as Christopher Garza pursued the ball and pushed the offense up field. The Lynx defense kept the ball away from the goal as the first half came to a close. In the second half the Rhinos looked to control the pace as they kept control of the ball. Luis Cuzco made some great passes and Alyssa Sanchez pushed the pace as the Rhinos kept the Lynx on their toes. The Lynx defense stayed disciplined as Liam Backofen was always in the right spot to keep the Rhinos from scoring. Both teams played great as the ball moved from one end of the field to another. Playing for the Lynx were Quinn Anderson, Liam Backofen, Henry Gadiel, Truman Goldberg, Noah Hong, Fredrick Koning, Logan Martin, Avaliese Mateo, Beatrice McIntyre, Carlton Murray, Madeline Rich, and Amalia Rojas. Playing for the Rhinos were Xavier Badagliacco, Luis Cuzco, Luka Fager, Christopher Garza, Brielle Heitz, Isabella Osorio, Giovanni Poirier, Alyssa Sanchez, Ciel Santos, and Jayden Kirkland.

CHAMPION LEAGUE COED SOCCER

The first game of Saturday last week took place between Dynamo and Impact. Playing for Dynamo were Dylan Lopez, Alihan Alymbaev, Henry-Finn Backofen, Ben Espeseth, Henry Timm, Ariana Pantoja, AJ Marshall, and Aaron Hymann. Playing for Impact were James Cohen, Isaac Abarca, Liam Alegria, Trevor Jolls, Luke Possinger, Jett Reese, Jack Rich, and Lynna Novak. Dynamo starts the game off by winning kickoff. AJ plays goalie in the first period for Impact, and James played goalie for Dynamo. Both goalkeepers did an excellent job blocking the ball, keeping each other from scoring. In the second period, Jack Rich is goalie for Dynamo and Henry Timm is goalie for Impact. Trevor helps his teammates tremendously by assisting two of them in scoring goals. This past Saturday Galaxy and Sounders played a great game and put an end to their regular season games. Starting kick off went to the Sounders whom set the rest of the game into action. Starting goalies were players Kimberly Cuzco and Andrew Brendel, coming in for the second half were Ferdinand Torres and Aiden Thomas. Great job to those goalies, they made some great saves and blocked a majority of the attempted shots made by the opposing team. The Galaxy’s Giselle Orr was able to help with that by being an amazing defensive player and constantly getting the ball off of her side. Teammates Krishelle Orr, Sebastian Daraban and Joshua Tallud displayed great technique in various skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting. On the Sounders, Barsbek Ulanbekuulu made a few great shots on the net and displayed really good dribbling skills. Teammate Patrice Culver and Adriana Pantoja did a great job at tracking and attacking the ball throughout the game. Coming out for team Galaxy was Sebastian Wang, Andrew Brendel, Charlie Fee, Joshua Tallud, Aiden Thomas, Sebastian Daraban, Giselle Orr and Krishelle Orr. Playing for the Sounders were Barsbek Ulanbekuulu, Ferdinand Torres, Patrice Culver, Kimberly Cuzco, Alex Martinez, Adriana Gudiel and borrowed player Adriana Pantoja. Great game guys! The last game of the day was an exciting matchup between the Earth-quakes and the Timbers—with the Earthquakes winning the kickoff. Playing in as goalie for the Timbers the first half was Tiago McDonagh Mooney; and the second half was Zion White. Playing in as goalie for the Earthquakes the first half was Steven Rene; and then onto the second half was Nathan Donald. The entire set of goalies made tremendous saves to help their team. Getting the first goal of the game was Jayden Rosales from the Earthquakes, with a strong powerful kick into the back of the net. Followed by that was Paulo Bombe, who made a quad-trick. This did not stop the persistence from the Timbers as Max Szukala made a goal to put the team on the board. Devin Rosenfeld and Anna Queroz from the Timbers had a ton of energy which resulted in many defensive saves to bring the ball up the field. Bruno Pena-Lepe was able to assist in a goal made by the Earthquakes. Overall, taking the win for the Earthquakes were: Bruno Pena-Lepe, Steven Rene, Nathan Donald, Jayden Rosales, Paulo Bombe, Grace Renz, Elizabeth Brandon, Avra Fox-Raman, and Jesus Oliveros. Playing hard for the Timbers were: Porter Smart, Max Szukala, Zion White, Max Pydych, Nathan Fagrelius, Tiago McDonagh Mooney, Izzy Ide, Anna Queroz, and Devin Rosenfeld.

PREMIER LEAGUE COED SOCCER

Tuesday was the final game of the season for the Premier League. A final championship match between the Fire and Chelsea. Both teams came out ready to play with Henry Marshall, Lilly Cohen, Antonio Bombe, Anaiz Chorne, Alex Cohen, Patrick McLaughlin and Colin McLaughlin for Chelsea and David Mandujano, Ismael Mandujano, Emani DeShon, Joshua Coronel, Alani Perez, and Ruby Castro for the Fire. With basically everyone on the field the entire game the kids on both teams gave it their all. With no goals at the half the game was still tied and a winner needed to arise. Ruby Castro and Emani DeShon proved to be a strong enough defense to shut down Chelsea with Ismael as goalie. As well did Chelsea with Henry Marshall in net and Patrick McLaughlin, Colin McLaughlin, and Alex Cohen on defense. Lilly was able to score the first goal of the game in the middle of the second half getting just past David. Within the last five minutes of regulation Ismael would tie the game shooting from within the goal box to get past Antonio. With the game tied it was apparent that regulation would not be enough to settle on a winner. The teams were going into overtime! With a five minute overtime period, it suddenly became a sudden death match with the winner-take-all would come from the first goal scored. Already drained from regulation, you could see how tired the kids were and how badly they still wanted to play and leave it all out on the field. And after halfway through overtime Antonio Bombe took the ball to the net and was met by Fire goalie Ismael and defender Joshua where the three collided and fought for the ball. Antonio would get just enough to pop the ball out and have it roll into the net clinching the championship. Both teams gave it their all, not just in this game but all season and it was a great game to go out on.

WORLD LEAGUE COED SOCCER

Now heading into the last regular games for World, Barcelona and Manchester United had a very entertaining match last Tuesday. It all started with Manchester United starting with the ball first, but within seconds Ajrian Velazquez-Wright was able to make a goal. From then on Anthony Castro from Chelsea stepped up to the plate and helped out his team with great defence. This helped Adriel Rodriguez get through and score a goal. But this was very difficult to do with Carlos Leon being goalie and having great reflex skills, he was able to save six close shots from the other team. MU was able to score a lot of points in the first half, but that only motivated Barcelona. From then on it was an intense game seeing both teams trying to maintain the lead. Kevin Hernandez was able to make unexpected blocks and gave his team the ball. But MU had great overall team communication and was able to take home the win. The final score was 6-3 in favor of MU. Playing for Manchester United was Carlos Leon, Gaven Leon, Eddy Perez Aidan Perez Sandro Santos, and Ajrian Velazquez-Wright. Playing for Barcelona was Sean Micubo, Laura Arroyo, Adriel Rodriguez, Kevin Hernandez, and Anthony Castro.

Kindergarten Groups

Bubble Guppies & Care Bears

The first week of camp for the kindergarten kids went fantastically! The Bubble Guppies (boys) and the Care Bears (girls) had a blast meeting one another, and we did that with a fun little introduction game where we said our names, and our favorite colors. We then played a version of duck-duck-goose where the kids had to know each others names to pick the goose! The highlight of this week however, was our trip to Jump Zone. It was a great time for the kids and Leaders/Staff to have some close, one-on-one fun together. Also, a big, huge thanks to all of the families that donated sunscreen, it is greatly appreciated!! We can't wait to see everyone again for another fun-filled week!

K–1st Discovery Summer Camp

First Grade Boys Groups

Superman & Batman

What a great week to start off the first week of Summer Camp! The Batman and Superman boys had a blast getting to know each other. Especially the new comers at Summer Camp were able to meet new friends! We played many activities involving getting to know each others names and something about themselves. I'm glad to see that everyone was participating in all the activities and were not shy enough to introduce themselves. Their favorite part of the day was when it was raining and we had no choice but to go inside. However, that did not stop them from dancing with each other and having a great time at camp! There is always a way to make the day fun, even if the weather tries to ruin it.

1st Grade Girls Groups

Pink Panthers & Smurfs

The first week of Summer camp went great! The Pink Panther Girls

and The Smurf girls (1st grade girls) all got to meet each other and

make new friends. We had a lot of fun getting to know each other

in our groups and playing activities that involved our names and

our favorite things to do. Even though it did rain for a little bit that

didn't stop us from having fun outside on the field and the play-

ground. It was also one of our little Panthers birthday on wednes-

day: Sophia Lamb enjoyed being with her friends and having so

much fun on her special day! I was glad to see how everyone was

having such a great time with their new friends. Thank you to all

parents who donated sunscreen and it was great meeting you this

first week!

2nd-3rd Explorer Summer Camp

2nd Grade Girls

Power Puff Girls

Summer camp kicked off on a high note for the 2nd grade girls on Monday for the non-CPS kids and everyone else Wednesday! Throughout the first few days they played many activities to help them get to know the campers in the group. On Tuesday they enjoyed multiple games of freeze dance and musical mats. Later in the week they went on field trips to Timber Lanes for bowling and Jump Zone!

2nd Grade Boys

Spiderman & Quick Silver

The Spidermen's first week of camp was a blast! We learned a little bit more about each other while playing Two Truths and a Lie, we played several intense rounds of Duck Duck Goose, and a GREAT game of kickball in the tennis courts! And what better way to end a fun week with a field trip on Thursday and Friday?! As always the first day of camp is an exciting but also a day with little nerves to meet all of our second grade campers in the Quick Silver group. Even though our group started out small with just one happy camper name Parker, we were able to make the best of meeting the staff members and leaders. While tagging along with the second grade boys Spiderman group, we had fun enjoying outdoor activities such as Do you know your Neighbor?, where we got to learn each other's names, and making arts and crafts with Sandy indoors. Eventually our small group have grown large and mighty with 14 campers eager to officially start off summer camp with roar. As the boys began to build new friendships and be acquainted with each other we headed outside the play Zip, Zap, Zop. At first it was a challenge to learn the rules but as fast as we got confused we were able to learn the game and have a blast Zipping, Zapping, and Zopping. Even the little drops of rain couldn’t stop our game from declaring a victor.

3rd Grade Boys

Pokemon & Digimon

This past week was the first week of summer camp and the Pokemon had a blast. The first two days were light as most kids were still in school but that didn't stop the ones that were here from having fun. Wednesday was the big day where everyone got to meet

each other. The group was quick to make friends as everyone learned each others names and had fun playing all sorts of games. Pokemon also had fun bowling on Thursday and used all of their energy at jump zone on Friday. Next week looks to be loads of fun as the kids prepare for the first full week of camp. The first week of camp was a fun one for the Digimon group. We all got to know each others names while playing name games throughout the week. The best game of the weeks was by far the game of capture the flag on Wednesday with both of the third grade groups facing each other. Everyone had fun playing while bonding as a group and using each other's individual skills to capture the flag. We also enjoyed two trips to Timber lanes and Jump Zone which were both a blast for the kids! Next week we will be going on trips to the Field Museum as well as Enchanted Castle which both look to be like fun trips for the week. Thanks for a great week 3rd grade, hope to see you all back next week!

3rd Grade Girls

Wonder Woman

The first week of summer camp was very exciting! The Wonder Woman girls had a lot of fun getting to know each other by building forts and having a dance party in the Orange room first thing in the morning. Ariana Pantoja, Jacqueline Cywinski, Ana Guset and Mari Koseki all loved dancing. We played fun games such as frogger and tag throughout the rainy day on Wednesday. Our groups also enjoyed a fun bowling trip and a energy filled day at Jump Zone. Next week the girls will be going to the Field Museum on Monday and Enchanted Castle on Wednesday.

Oh The Places We SHOULD GO!

In honor of the 100th year Anniversary of the National Parks visit the park closest to Chicago

Mammoth Cave National Park 1 Mammoth Cave Parkway Mammoth Cave, KY 42259 (270) 758-2180 www.nps.gov

Explore formations named Frozen Niagara, Church and Domes at Mammoth Cave National Park. Do tours titled Gothic or Historic. Stay at a park lodge or campground. Hike, bike, horseback ride, kayak or go for bass bluegill, catfish, crappie and other fish. An easy drive of about 389 miles from Chicago, mostly on Interstate 65, Mammoth Cave is an all season destination with lots to do. And its numbers are impressive. With more than 390 miles mapped and more to come, the park has the longest cave system known to exist. The park encompasses 52,830 acres, mostly along the Green River. Scientists say the oldest section was formed about 10 million years ago. Park guides point out items left behind by Native Americans more than 2,000 years ago. Declared a World Heritage Site in 1981, Mammoth Cave became a national park in 1941 but visitors have been touring the cave since 1816. The park attracts about two million visitors a year.

4th-5th Voyager Summer Camp

4th Grade Boys

Iron Man & X-Men

First day with the whole group and I couldn't have asked for a better way to kickstart camp! The Iron Man and Xman played kickball, jump the river, soccer and spent the day running around in the field. It was a great start to the summer and we look forward to whats to come.

4th Grade Girls

Rugrats

With the much anticipated summer camp rolling around this week, on Monday and Tuesday the 4th grade Rugrats only had two girls—Lucy Kirkland and Ella Foeller. As Wednesday came, all of our girls came out and the summer has definitely started off on the right foot. We’ve done fun activities, hand games, and have had a lot of participation. I definitely look forward to the rest of the summer!

5th Grade Boys

Thundercats & MonStars

Summer fun and competition is in full swing with the Thundercats! We have had a blast this week getting to know each other, playing kickball and soccer, and having a dance party or two. We wel-comed our CPS friends to camp on Wednesday, and much time has been spent teaching our group leader Alex how to play sports. It has been exciting to see the leadership skills and friendships developing, and the rest of the summer has so much more in store! Thank you parents for the excellent communication!

The MonStars were at full strength Wednesday with the entire 5th grade group. We fit in some field trips Thursday going to Haunted Trails and Friday to Timber Lanes. It feels like an extension to last summer with the core of the group already close and making easy welcoming to those new faces. Can't wait to kick off week 2!

6th-8th Adventure Summer Camp

6th-8th Grade Girls

Wild Thornberrys

The Wild Thornberrys kicked off their summer with a rainy but fun filled day. On Wednesday they played some kickball and football in the rain! Then on Thursday they headed to bowling and on Friday to Haunted Trails. The girls can't wait to see what next week brings as they continue their summer!

6th-8th Grade Boys

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The 6-8th grade boys group, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, had a great first week of summer camp. The group was smaller on Monday and Tuesday but almost all of the boys came once CPS schools were out! Wednesday we all got to know each other by

playing name games and football in the rain (they're tough guys). Thursday we went to Brunswick Zone to bowl and eat pizza, and Friday will bring a field trip to haunted trails which we're all excited about! Bus was not moving in this photo

5th Grade Girls

Super Girls

The first week of camp has been off to a great start for the Super-girls! Supergirls got to meet one another through name games and two truths and a lie after reintroducing themselves after the whole group has come together. They're all excited to end the week with two field trips, Thursday to haunted trails and Friday to timber lanes!
