Montalvo Brings Great Jazz to the Carriage HouseThis Fall

Oct. 17: The Brubeck Brothers QuartetOct. 24: Hiroshima 30th Anniversary Legacy Tour

SARATOGA, Calif. Montalvos intimate Carriage House Theatre is the ideal

venue to hear fantastic jazz music and it starts on October 17 with an

exciting performance by The Brubeck Brothers Quartet. Also in October,

Montalvo presents 2010 Grammy nominee Hiroshima as they celebrate their

30-year recording career. And, save the date for January 19, when the

brilliant saxophonist Joshua Redman will perform solo. All of these

performances are part of Montalvos Fall and Winter Carriage House Concert

Series. Tickets are on sale now through the Montalvo Box Office and

Ticketmaster.com.

The exciting Brubeck Brothers Quartet features two members of one of

America's most accomplished musical families, Daniel Brubeck (drums) and

Chris Brubeck (bass and trombone), sons of the acclaimed jazz pianist and

composer Dave Brubeck. Guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Chuck Lamb

complete this dynamic quartet. The groups debut Koch recording,Intuition

,impressed the national jazz media and spent several weeks in the top 10

radio charts while earning enthusiastic reviews fromJazz Times, Downbeat,

The Boston Globe and many other respected publications. Intuition was,

measure for measure, one of the hardest swinging sets of the year.

ahead jazz, their concerts reveal an inherent ability to explore and play odd

time signatures while naturally integrating the influences of funk, blues and

world music.

Hiroshima, the multi-gold, Grammy-nominated group, celebrates 30 years

of a remarkable recording career (more than 3 million copies sold) with their

Legacy tour. Since Hiroshimas inception in 1980, the group has assumed

the artistic mission of bridging cultural divides through the power of music.

Hiroshima has borrowed from numerous cultures Asian, Latin American,

African American and more and merged these influences into a unique and

innovative whole that is solely their own. The result is a brand of music that

speaks to nearly every aspect of contemporary culture. As the only Asian

American band to attempt to fuse Eastern and Western music, they have

created a singular niche, one that only they occupy. Of Legacy,All About
