Month of Rajab

The Holy Prophet (saws) has said, "Rajab is

the month for seeking forgiveness, so seek

forgiveness from Allah (swt)"

The Holy Prophet (saws) has said, “Verily,

Rajab is Allah’s month, Sha’aban my month

and Ramadan the month of my Ummah;

whosoever fasts a day in the month of Rajab

will be granted the great reward of Ridwan

(an angel in heaven); the wrath of Allah

shall be distanced and a door of the Hell

shall be closed.”

Imam Musa al-Kadhim (as) says "Rajab is

the name of a river in heaven, which is

whiter than milk and sweeter than

honey.Whoever fasts in Rajab shall be able

to drink from that river".

General Amaal for the Month of

Rajab

• Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (as) has

reported the Holy Prophet (saws) as

saying: Rajab is the month of

imploring for forgiveness for my

people; so, you should implore

forgiveness repeatedly in this month

much more than you do in other

months, for Almighty Allah is

forgiving and merciful. This month

is described as the advantageous

month, because mercy is poured on

my people during it so heavily. You

should thus repeat very much the

following imploration prayer:

أستغفر الله وأسأله التوبة


I ask Allah for forgiveness and I pray Him to accept my repentance.

• It is recommended to fast on three

days in the month of Rajab:

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. It

has been narrated that one who fasts

on these three days in one of the

Sacred Months will be awarded with

the reward of nine hundred year

worship.

• If one is incapable of fasting during

the month recite the following

instead 100 times each day in the

month of Rajab:

لجليل ٱه لسبحان ال Glory be to the All-majestic God.


سبيح إال لهلتٱسبحان من ال ينبغي Glory be to Him other than Whom

none should be glorified.

كرمالٱ عزالٱسبحان Glory be to the All-honorable and All-

dignified.

هلوهو له ا لعزٱسبحان من لبس Glory be to Him Who has dressed

Himself with grandeur that fits none but Him.

• The Holy Prophet (saws) is reported

as saying: Whoever repeats the

following imploration for forgiveness

100 times in Rajab and immediately

gives alms after it, Almighty Allah

will conclude his life with mercy


and forgiveness. Also, whoever

repeats it 400 times, will be given the

reward of one hundred martyrs:

ه إال هو لذي ال إلٱ ٱللهستغفر ا

I implore the forgiveness of Allah. There is no god save Him,

وحده ال شريك لهthe One and Only Who has no partner,

ليهتوب إواand I repent before Him.

• The Holy Prophet (saws) is also

reported to have said: Whoever

repeats this litany 1000 times in

Rajab, Almighty Allah will decide for

him 100,000 rewards and award

him 100 houses in Paradise:


ال إله إال ٱلله

There is no god save Allah.

• A Hadith reads that whoever repeats

the following imploration for

forgiveness 70 times in the morning

and 70 times in the evening on

each day in Rajab, will be admitted

by Almighty Allah if he dies in Rajab

and Hellfire will not touch him on

account of the blessings of Rajab:

ليهتوب إوا ٱللهستغفر ا

I implore the forgiveness of Allah and I repent to Him.

After this imploration is repeated

seventy times, it is recommended to raise


the hands towards the sky and say:

اللهم ٱغفر لي وتب عليO Allah, (please do) forgive me and

accept my repentance.

• It is recommended to implore

Almighty Allah for forgiveness in

the following form one thousand

times in Rajab so that He will

forgive:

كراملٱل ولجل ٱ ذا ٱللهستغفر ا

I implore Allah, the Lord of majesty and honor,

آلثامٱنوب ولذٱمن جميع to forgive my all sins and offenses.


• One who recites Surah Tawheed 100

times on Fridays in Rajab will enjoy,

on the Resurrection Day, light that

draws him towards Paradise.

• It has been narrated that the Holy

Prophet (saws) said, “One who recites

Surah al-Tawheed 100 times at one

night in Rajab will be decided to

have fasted for one hundred years for

the sake of Almighty Allah Who will

also decide for him one hundred

palaces (in Paradise) in the vicinity of

one of the Prophets.”

• The Holy Prophet (saws) is also

reported as saying that Almighty

Allah will forgive all the sins of


those who offer a ten unit prayer, at

one night in Rajab, reciting in each

unit Surah al-Fatihah once and

repeating Surah al-Tawheed three

times.


Dua to be recited after Every

Obligatory Prayer

Dua Ya Man Arjuhu Li Kulli Khair

It has been narrated from Imam Jafar

Sadiq; In the Name of Allah, the All-

beneficent the All-merciful. You may

say the following (supplicatory prayer)

each day in Rajab; in mornings,

evenings, and after each of the

obligatory prayers:

خير رجوه لكليا من ا

O He Whom alone I hope for all good things

شر آمن سخطه عند كلو


and Whose wrath I do not expect when I do wrong!

لقليل ٱب لكثيرٱيا من يعطي

O He Who recompenses the little deed with very much reward!

لهمن سا يعط ييا من O He Who answers one who begs Him!

لم يعرفه من له ومن لم يسا يعطييا من

O He Who gives those who do not ask Him and do not even recognize Him

نا منه ورحمةتحنout of His kindness and mercifulness!

نيالدٱلتي من جميع خير عطني بمساا

(Please do) give me, for I pray You, the whole welfare of this world


آلخرةٱوجميع خير

and the whole welfare of the Next World

لتي إياكاوٱصرف عني بمس

and save me, for I pray You,

نيا وشر ٱآلخرةجميع شر ٱلدthe whole evil of this world and the

Next World.

عطيت ه غير منقوص ما انفإ

Verily, all that which You give is unblemished.

وزدني من سعة فضلك يا كريم

(Please do) increase Your favors upon me, O All-generous!

The narrator then added that Imam al-


Sadiq (`a) then grasped his beard with

his left hand, while saying this

supplicatory prayer, and moved

ceaselessly the forefinger of his right

hand. He then added:

كراملٱلجلل وٱ يا ذا

O Lord of Majesty and Honor!

لجود ٱعماء ولنٱ يا ذا

O Lord of bliss and magnanimity!

ول لطٱو لمنٱ يا ذا

O Lord of favor and munificence!

لنارٱم شيبتي على حر

(Please do) rescue my white-hair beard from Hellfire.


Salaah to be recited Every Night in the

Month of Rajab

It is recommended to offer a sixty-unit

prayer in Rajab. Each night, it is

recommended to offer two units of this

prayer in the first unit of which Surah al-

Fatihah is recited once, Surah al-Kafirun

(No. 109) repeated three times, and

Surah al-Tawhid recited one time. After

the accomplishment of the two prayer

units, it is recommended to raise the

hands towards the sky and say the

following:

للهٱه إال لال إ

There is no god save Allah,

شريك لهوحده ال the One and Only Who has no partner.


لحمد ٱلملك وله ٱله

To Him is the kingdom and to Him is all praise.

يحيي ويميت

He restores to live and cause to die

ال يموت وهو حيand He is Ever-living and He never

dies.

لخيرٱه بيد

In His Hands is all goodness,

شيء قدير وهو على كل

He has power over all things,

لمصيرٱليه وإ

and to Him is the return of all things.


لعظيمٱ لعليٱة إال بٱلله وال حول وال قو

There is neither might nor strength save with Allah, the Most High, the

All-great.

وآله يمالٱ بيلنٱد على محم اللهم صل

O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad, the Ummi Prophet, and his Household.

It is also recommended to pass one’s

hand over the face while uttering the last

statement. The Holy Prophet (saws) is

reported to have said that if one offers

this prayer and says this supplicatory

prayer, Almighty Allah will respond to

his needs and award him the reward of

sixth times of Hajj and `Umrah (ritual

pilgrimage).


Duas to be recited Everyday in the

Month of Rajab

Dua Ya Man Yamliku Hawaaij

It is advisable to say the following

supplicatory prayer each day in Rajab. It

has been narrated that Imam Zayn al-

Abideen (as) used to say this

supplicatory prayer on the first day of

Rajab while he was imprisoned:

لسائلينٱيا من يملك حوائج O He who manages the wants of the

needy,

لصامتينٱويعلم ضمير and is aware of that which is hidden in

the heart of the silent sufferers!


لة منك سمع حاضر مسا لكلEvery problem receives Your attention,

وجواب عتيدand is settled well.

لصادقةٱاللهم ومواعيدك O Allah, Your promises come true,

لفاضلةٱياديك واYour favors are many,

لواسعةٱورحمتك and Your Mercy is extensive,

د وآل ي على محمن تصللك اسافا د محم


therefore, I beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and the

Household of Muhammad,

آلخرةٱنيا ون تقضي حوائجي للدواand fulfill my desires in this world and

in the world to come.

شيء قدير ك على كلإنVerily, You have power over all things.


Dua Khaabal Waafidoon

It is recommended to say the following

supplicatory prayer that Imam Ja`far al-

Sadiq (`a) used to say everyday in Rajab:

لوافدون على غيركٱخاب

Those who come to anyone other than You have really gone wrong.

ضون إال لكلمتعرٱوخسر

Those who visit anyone other than You have missed the right way.

ون إال بكالملمع ٱوض

Those who depend upon other than You have lost except those who depend

upon You.

نتجع ٱلمنتجعون إال من ٱجدب وا


فضلك

Those who have had recourse to other than Your favors will have lived in

poverty except those who have recourse to Your favors.

بابك مفتوح للراغبين

Your door is always open before those who desire for You.

وخيرك مبذول للطالبين

Your wealth is always available for those who seek it.

وفضلك مباح للسائلين

Your favors are always obtainable by those who ask for them.

ونيلك متاح لآلملين


Your rewards are accessible for those who hope for them.

ورزقك مبسوط لمن عصاك

Your sustenance is extended for even those who disobey You.

عترض لمن ناواك وحلمك م

Your forbearance is reachable for even those who antagonize You.

لمسيئينٱحسان إلى لٱعادتك Your habit is to do favor to the

wrongdoers

لمعتدين ٱبقاء على لٱوسبيلك and Your custom is to overlook the

transgressors.

لمهتدينٱهدني هدى ٱف همللا


O Allah, (please do) lead me to the path of the well-guided ones,

لمجتهدينٱجتهاد ٱرزقني ٱو

grant me the determination of the hardworking ones,

لمبعدين ٱلغافلين ٱوال تجعلني من

do not include me with the unmindful ones who are dismissed (from Your

mercy),

ينلدٱغفر لي يوم ٱوand forgive me on the Judgment Day.


Dua Allahumma Inni Asaluka Sabr

In his book of al-Misbah, Shaykh al-

Tusi mentions that al-Mu`alla ibn

Khunays has reported Imam Ja`far al-

Sadiq (`a) as saying, “In Rajab, you may

say the following supplicatory prayer; It

has been also mentioned by Sayyid Ibn

Tawus al-Hasani in his book of Iqbal al-

A`mal. According to the narration, this

supplicatory prayer is the most

comprehensive and it is advisable to

repeat it any time.

لشاكرين لكٱلك صبر ساإني ا همللا

O Allah, I implore You for the endurance of those who always thank

You,


لخائفين منكٱوعمل

the efforts of those who fear You,

لعابدين لك ٱويقين and the faith of those who worship

You.

لعظيمٱ لعليٱنت ا همللا

O Allah, You are verily the Most High, the All-great,

لفقيرٱلبائس ٱنا عبدك وا

while I am Your servant—the miserable and the needy.

لحميدٱ لغنيٱنت ا

You are the Self-Sufficient, the Praised,

ليل لذٱلعبد ٱنا وا


while I am the humble servant.

د وآلهعلى محم اللهم صل

O Allah, bless Muhammad and his Household

منن بغناك على فقريٱوand do favor to my neediness through

Your self-sufficiency,

وبحلمك على جهلي

to my impatience through Your forbearance,

تك على ضعفيوبقو

and to my weakness through Your power.

يا عزيز يا قوي O All-power, O Almighty.


د وآلهعلى محم اللهم صل

O Allah, bless Muhammad and his Household;

ين لمرضيٱوصياء الٱthe Successors (of prophet hood) and

the Pleased;

آلخرةٱنيا ولدٱمر ني من اهمكفني ما اٱوand save me from whatever aggrieves me among the worldly and religious

affairs.

لراحمينٱرحم يا اO most Merciful of all those who show

mercy!


Dua Allahumma Ya Zal Minan

Shaykh al-Tusi has also mentioned that

the following supplicatory prayer is

advisedly repeated each day in Rajab:

(This supplicatory prayer is also

advisably said in Masjid Sa’sa ah.)

لسابغةٱلمنن ٱ اللهم يا ذا O Allah, the Lord of the complete

favors,

لوازعة ٱآلالء ٱوthe utter bounties,

لواسعةٱحمة لرٱوthe immense mercy,

لجامعةٱلقدرة ٱوthe all-embracing power,


لجسيمة ٱعم لنٱوthe vast graces,

لعظيمة ٱلمواهب ٱوthe great bestowals,

لجميلة ٱيادي الٱوthe nice gifts,

لجزيلةٱلعطايا ٱوand the abundant donations!

يا من ال ينعت بتمثيلO He Who is not resembled to

anything,

ل بنظير وال يمثis not likened to any match,

وال يغلب بظهير


and is not overcome by any supported one!

يا من خلق فرزقO He Who has created and then

granted sustenance,

نطقلهم فاواhas inspired to understand and then

made speech,

بتدع فشرع ٱوhas made and then enacted laws,

رتفعٱف وعلhas risen high and then elevated,

حسنر فاوقدhas estimated so perfectly,

تقنر فاوصو


has shaped so excellently,

بلغ فا حتجٱوhas provided arguments so

conclusively,

سبغنعم فاواhas bestowed so completely,

جزلعطى فاواhas granted so abundantly,

فضل ومنح فاand has conferred so favorably!

لعز ٱيا من سما في O He Who has elevated so honorably

بصارالٱففات نواظر that all sights have missed Him,


طفللٱودنا في and has approached so gently

فكار الٱفجاز هواجس that He has passed all apprehensions!

لملك ٱد بيا من توح O He Who has possessed so

incomparably

له في ملكوت سلطانه فل ند that no peer can ever be found for Him

in the domination of His power

لكبرياءٱء وآلالٱد بوتفرand has been so matchless in bounties

and pride

نه اله في جبروت ش فل ضد


that nothing can oppose Him in the omnipotence of His situation!

ته دقائق يا من حارت في كبرياء هيب وهامالٱلطائف

O He, the pride of Whose dignity has perplexed even the finest allusions

دراك عظمته خطائف نحسرت دون إٱو نامالٱبصار ا

and Whose greatness cannot be recognized by even the twinkling of the

people’s sights!

لوجوه لهيبته ٱيا من عنت O He before Whose dignity all faces

have humbled themselves,

قاب لعظمتهلرٱوخضعت


to Whose greatness all necks submitted,

لقلوب من خيفته ٱووجلت and Whom is feared by all hearts!

تي ال تنبغي إال لٱلمدحة ٱذه لك به ساا لك

I pray to You in the name of this piece of praise that none deserves save You,

يت به على نفسك لداعيك من وبما وا لمؤمنينٱ

in the name of that which You have made incumbent upon Yourself for the

believers who pray to You,

جابة فيه على نفسك لٱوبما ضمنت للداعين


and in the name of Your guaranteeing response for those who supplicate to

You.

لسامعينٱسمع يا اO best hearer of all those who can

hear!

لناظرينٱبصر واO best seer of all those who can see!

لحاسبينٱسرع واO swiftest in calling to account!

لمتينٱة لقوٱ يا ذا O Lord of Power, O Strong!

وعلى ين بيلنٱد خاتم على محم صل هل بيتها


(Please do) bless Muhammad, the seal of the Prophets, and his Household,

ذا خير ما قسم لي في شهرنا هٱو قسمت

and grant us a portion of the best of that which You decide in this month,

ير ما حتمتحتم لي في قضائك خٱوchoose for me the best act that You

decide,

عادة فيمن ختمتلسٱختم لي بٱوseal my life with happiness with which

You seal the lives of others,

حييتني موفوراحيني ما اواadorn my whole life with abundant

wealth,


متني مسرورا ومغفوراواgrasp my soul with happiness and

forgiveness of my sins,

لبرزخ ٱنت نجاتي من مساءلة ا وتولbe my Redeemer as regards the

Interrogation of the Grave,

ي منكرا ونكيراعن ادرٱوprotect me against Munkar and

Nakeer,

را وبشيرار عيني مبشواlet my eyes see Mubashshir and

Basheer,

لى رضوانك وجنانك مصيراجعل لي إٱوcause the end of my march to be

towards Your pleasure and Paradises,


وعيشا قريراdecide for me delightful living

وملكا كبيراand big kingdom,

د وآله كثيراعلى محم وصلand bless Muhammad and his

Household very much.


Dua Allahumma Inni Asaluka Bi

Ma’aani

Shaykh al-Tusi has narrated that the

following holy Signature (Tawqee) –

Signed Letter of Imam Mahdi (atfs) was

conveyed to his representative Shaykh

Abu-Ja`far Muhammad ibn `Uthman ibn

Sa`eed:

On each day in Rajab, you may say the

following supplicatory prayer:

حيملرٱن حملرٱ ٱللهبسم

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

لك بمعاني جميع ما ساي االلهم إن مركيدعوك به والة ا


O Allah, I implore You in the name of the meanings of all the names by

which You are prayed by Your representatives,

كمونون على سرالمٱ

the trustees with Your secret,

مركلمستبشرون باٱ

the conveyers of Your affairs,

لواصفون لقدرتكٱ

the describers of Your power,

لمعلنون لعظمتكٱ

and the announcers of Your greatness.

لك بما نطق فيهم من مشيئتك سااI implore You by Your will that has

manifested itself through them


فجعلتهم معادن لكلماتك

and thus You have made them the essences of Your Words,

ركانا لتوحيدكوا

the indications to Your Oneness,

تي ال تعطيل لهاوآياتك ومقاماتك الthe signs leading to You, and Your

Standings that are non-stop

مكان يعرفك بها من عرفك في كل

in each place where those who recognize You could only recognize

You through them.

هم عبادك نال فرق بينك وبينها إال ا وخلقك


No difference between You and them save that they are Your servants and

creatures.

فتقها ورتقها بيدك

The opening and the closing of all things are in Your hand alone.

بدؤها منك وعودها إليك

The inauguration and the conclusion of all things belong to You alone.

شهادعضاد واا

(They are thus only) supporters, witnesses,

ذوادومناة وا

wishing (Your mercy), protecting (Your religion),

وحفظة ورواد


saving (Your laws), and pioneers (to the obedience to You).

رضكت سماءك واافبهم ملWith them have You filled Your

heavens and earth

نت ه إال الإ ال ن حتى ظهر ا

until it has become obvious that there is no god save You.

لكسالك افبذ

I thus implore You in the name of all this,

من رحمتك لعزٱوبمواقع in the name of the sites of dignity in

Your mercy,

وبمقاماتك وعلماتك


in the name of Your standings and Signs,

د وآلهي على محمن تصلاto send blessings to Muhammad and

his Household

مانا وتثبيتاـين تزيدني إوا

and increase my faith and firmness.

يا باطنا في ظهوره

O He Who is Immanent in His Evidence!

اهرا في بطونه ومكنونهوظ

O He Who is Evident in His Immanence and in His hiddenness!

يجور لدٱور ولنٱقا بين يا مفر

O He Who sets apart light from murk!


يا موصوفا بغير كنه

O He Whom is described without recognition of his real essence!

ومعروفا بغير شبه

and He Whom is recognized without having anything like Him!

محدود كل حاد

O Edger of all edged things!

مشهود وشاهد كل

O Witness of all done things!

موجود وموجد كل

O Bringer into being all existent things!

معدود ومحصي كل


O Knower of the number of all countable things!

مفقود وفاقد كل

O Knower of the place of all lost things!

ليس دونك من معبود

None is worshipped except You.

لجود ٱلكبرياء وٱهل ا

You are the worthiest of all pride and magnanimity.

ف بكيفيا من ال يكي

O He about Whom, it is infeasible to as ‘how’

ينن باوال يؤي

and it is infeasible to ask ‘where’!


عين يا محتجبا عن كل

O He Who is concealed from all sights!

معلوم وم وعالم كليا ديموم يا قي

O Everlasting, O Self-Subsistent, O Knower of all known things!

د وآله وعلى عبادك على محم صل لمنتجبينٱ

(Please do) send blessings to Muhammad, his Household, Your

selected servants,

لمحتجبين ٱوبشرك

Your concealed human beings,

بينلمقرٱوملئكتك

Your favorite angels,


ينلحافٱين لصافٱلبهم ٱو

and the Angels who draw themselves out in ranks and who throng (round

the Divine Throne),

ب لمرج ٱوبارك لنا في شهرنا هذا م لمكرٱ

and bless us in this month—the honored and dignified—

لحرمٱشهر الٱوما بعده من

as well as the next sacred months,

عملنٱسبغ علينا فيه وا

pour upon us Your graces in this month,

لقسمٱجزل لنا فيه وا

grant us abundant shares of blessings,


لقسم ٱبرر لنا فيه وا

admit our requests,

كرم الٱ جلالٱعظم الٱعظم الٱسمك ٱب

in the name of Your Name, the Greatest, the Greatest, the Loftiest, the

Most Honored

ضاءهار فالنٱذي وضعته على لٱ

that You put on daylight and it thus lit up

ظلم يل فاللٱوعلى

and You put on night and it thus darkened,

غفر لنا ما تعلم منا وما ال نعلمٱو

forgive us all that which You know about us and all that which we do not

know,


لعصمٱنوب خير لذٱعصمنا من ٱو

protect us against sins with the best of protection,

ككفنا كوافي قدرٱو

save us against the acts that You predetermine,

منن علينا بحسن نظركٱو

bestow upon us with Your superb looking,

وال تكلنا إلى غيرك

do not leave us in the hands of anyone other than You,

وال تمنعنا من خيرك

do not prevent us from Your goodness,

عمارناوبارك لنا فيما كتبته لنا من ا


bless us during the age that You have decided for us,

سرارناصلح لنا خبيئة اوا

make righteous for us our inner selves,

مان الٱعطنا منك وا

grant us Your security,

مان ـيلٱستعملنا بحسن ٱو

make us enjoy perfect faith,

ياملصٱغنا شهر وبل

and make us catch the month of fasting

عوام الٱيام والٱوما بعده من

and the days and years coming after,

كراملٱلجلل وٱ يا ذا

O Lord of Majesty and Honor!


Dua Allahumma Inni Asaluka Bil-

Mawloodain

Shaykh al-Tusi has also narrated that a

document signed by Imam al-Mahdi

(atfs) was received by Shaykh Abu’l-

Qasim, Imam al-Mahdi’s representative,

comprising that the following

supplicatory prayer would be

recommendably said in the month of

Rajab:

لمولودين في رجبٱلك بساي االلهم إنO Allah, I beseech You in the name of

those who were born in Rajab,

لثانيٱ د بن عليمحم

Muhammad ibn `Alee the second


لمنتجبٱد بن محم بنه عليٱوand his son `Alee ibn Muhammad the

divinely selected;

لقرب ٱليك خير ب بهما إتقروا

I seek nearness to You through both of them for they are the best means of

nearness to You.

لمعروف طلبٱليه يا من إ

O He from Whom favors are sought

وفيما لديه رغب

and what He possesses is desired!

لك سؤال مقترف مذنب ساا

I beseech You with the entreaty of him

وبقته ذنوبهقد اwhom is enchained by his sins


وثقته عيوبهوا

and is bound by his defects;

لخطايا دؤوبه ٱفطال على

therefore, he devoted himself to offenses,

زايا خطوبهلرٱومن

and disasters have attacked him heavily.

وبةلت ٱلك يسا

He is now begging You for accepting his repentance,

وبةالٱوحسن

good return from You,

لحوبةٱزوع عن لنٱو

redeeming from punishment,


لنار فكاك رقبتهٱومن

releasing from Hellfire,

لعفو عما في ربقتهٱو

and overlooking the sins that are hanged to him.

مله وثقتهعظم اي انت موال فا

Certainly, You, O my Master, the greatest of all hopes and desires he

has.

ريفةلشٱلك بمسائلك سااللهم وا

O Allah, I beg You in the name of the holy means that You admit

لمنيفة ٱووسائلك

and all of the elevated courses that take to You


هر برحمة منك لشٱدني في هذا ن تتغم ا واسعة

to encompass me, in this month, with vast mercy of You,

ونعمة وازعة

abundant favors,

ونفس بما رزقتها قانعة

and satisfaction with what You have decided for me

لحافرةٱلى نزول إ

until I am put in my final hole,

آلخرة ٱ ومحل

which is my abode to the Hereafter

ليه صائرة وما هي إ


and the Final Fate.


First Night of Month of Rajab

It is highly advisable to take a Ghusl on

the first night of Rajab. In this respect,

some scholars have reported the Holy

Prophet (saws) as saying, “Whoever

receives the month of Rajab and bathes

himself in the first, middle, and last of it,

will be released from all of his sins to

return as pure as the day of his birth.”

Duas to be recited on sighting the new

moon

مان ـيلٱمن والٱعلينا به هلا هماللO Allah, cause it (i.e. the moon) to

appear carrying for us security, faith,


مسللٱمة وللسٱوsafety, and Islam.

وجل لله عزٱك ي وربرب

Your and my Lord is Allah, the Glorified and Majestic.

It has been also reported that when his

eyes fell on the new moon of Rajab, the

Holy Prophet (saws) used to say the

following:

بارك لنا في رجب وشعبان همالل

O Allah, (please do) pour out Your blessings upon us in Rajab and

Sha`ban.

غنا شهر رمضان وبل


make us catch Ramadan,

ياملصٱعنا على وا

and help us observe fasting,

لقيام ٱو

do acts of worship,

سانللٱوحفظ

suppress our tongues (from saying anything improper),

لبصرٱ وغض

and cast down our eyes (against what is forbidden for us to look at).

لعطشٱلجوع وٱنا منه وال تجعل حظ

Do not make our share of Ramadan is only hunger and thirst.


Salaah’s for the 1st Night of Rajab

• It is recommended to offer, after the

obligatory Maghrib Prayer, a 20 unit

prayer and to recite in each unit

Surah al-Fatihah once and Surah al-

Tawheed once.

Whoever offers this prayer, his family

members, property, sons, and he will be

kept saved from harm, rescued against

the grave torture, and pass the Sirat as

swiftly as lightning without being called

to account.

• After the `Isha' Prayer, it is

recommended to offer a two unit

prayer in the first unit of which

Surah al-Fatihah should be recited

once, Surah al-Inshirah (No. 94)


recited once, and Surah al-Tawheed

recited three times. In the second

unit, Surahs al-Fatihah, al-Inshirah,

al-Tawheed, al-Falaq, and al-Nas

should be recited once each. After

tasleem, the following litany should

be repeated thirty times:

للهٱه إال لال إThere is no god save Allah.

Then repeat thirty times:

دد وآل محمعلى محم صل همالل

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of

Muhammad.

The reward of this prayer is that

whoever offers it, will have all his sins

forgiven and will return as sin-free as the


day of his birth.

• It is recommended to offer a thirty

unit prayer in each unit Surah al-

Fatihah is recited once, Surah al-

Kafirun (No. 109) recited once, and

Surah al-Tawheed repeated three

times.


Dua to be recited after Isha Prayer

on the 1st Night of Rajab

Imam Abu-Ja`far II (as) is reported to

have recommended saying this the

following supplicatory prayer at the first

night of Rajab after the `Isha' Prayer:

ك ملك ن با لكساي اإن همالل

O Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your being the King,

شيء مقتدر ك على كلنوا

having absolute power over all things,

مر يكونك ما تشاء من انوا

and whatever matter You want to happen shall happen.


د ك محمليك بنبيه إتوجي انإ همالل

O Allah, I turn my face towards You asking You in the name of Your Prophet,

Muhammad,

لله عليه وآلهٱحمة صلى لرٱ نبيthe Prophet of mercy—may Allah’s

blessings be upon him and his Household.

د يا محم

O Muhammad!

ٱللهيا رسول

O Messenger of Allah!

يك وربرب ٱللهلى ه بك إتوجي انإ

I seek Your intercession for me with Allah, your and my Lord,


لينجح لي بك طلبتيso that He may respond to my request.

د ك محمبنبي همالل

O Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your Prophet Muhammad

هل بيتهة من ائمالٱوand the Imams from his household,

لله عليه وعليهمٱصلى peace be upon him and them,

نجح طلبتياto respond to my request.

You may then mention your requests .


Dua After Salat Layl on the 1st Night

of Rajab

Ali ibn Hadid has narrated that Imam

Musa ibn Ja`far (as) used to say the

following supplicatory prayer while

prostrating after the accomplishment of

the Night Prayer (Salaat al-Layl):

طعتكن المحمدة إٱك ل

[O Allah,] If I obey You, then thanks to You,

ن عصيتكة إلحج ٱولك

and if I disobey You, then You have the right (to punish me).

حسان إال بكصنع لي وال لغيري في إ ال


All favors that are done to me or to anyone else must come from You.

شيء يا كائنا قبل كل

O He Who existed before all things!

شيء ن كلويا مكو

O Author of all things!

شيء قدير ك على كلنإ

Verily, You have power over all things.

لعديلة عند ٱعوذ بك من ي انإ همالل لموت ٱ

O Allah, I seek Your protection against deviation at (the hour of) death,

لقبور ٱلمرجع في ٱ ومن شر

evil recourse in the grave,


آلزفةٱدامة يوم لنٱومن

and regret on the Day of the approaching doom.

د وآل ي على محمن تصللك اسافا د محم

I therefore beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and the

Household of Muhammad

ة ن تجعل عيشي عيشة نقيوا

and to make my life wholesome,

ةميتة سويوميتتي

my death sound,

ومنقلبي منقلبا كريما

and my resort honorable;


غير مخز وال فاضحneither disgraceful nor scandalous.

د وآلهعلى محم صل همالل

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to Muhammad and his Household;

لحكمةٱة ينابيع ئمالٱthe Imams, the sources of wisdom,

عمةلنٱولي او

the causes of bliss,

لعصمةٱومعادن

and the essences of immaculacy,

سوء عصمني بهم من كلٱو

and protect me, in their name, against all evils,


ة وال على غفلةخذني على غراوال ت

do not seize me unexpectedly or inattentively,

عمالي حسرةوال تجعل عواقب ا

do not allow my end result to be regretful,

يرض عن ٱو

and be pleased with me,

لظالمين ٱ نا منمغفرتك للظالمين وا نفإ

for Your forgiveness is dedicated to the wrongdoers, and I am one of these

wrongdoers.

كيضر غفر لي ما الٱاللهم

O Allah, (please do) forgive me (my faults) which do not harm You


ينقصك العطني ما وا

and give me from that which does not cause decrease to You.

لوسيع رحمتهٱك نفإ

Verily, You are the One Whose mercy is all-embracing

لبديع حكمته ٱ

and Whose wisdom is all-excellent.

عةلدٱعة ولسٱعطني وا

(Please do) grant me opulence, comfort,

ة حلصٱمن والٱو

security, health,

لقنوع ٱجوع و لنٱو

wholesomeness, contentment,


قوىلتٱلمعافاة وٱكر ولش ٱوthanksgiving, good health, piety,

وليائك عليك وعلى ادق لصٱبر ولصٱو

patience, belief in You and Your Saints,

كر لشٱليسر وٱوaffluence, and thanksgiving.

هلي وولديا رب لك ياعمم بذوا(Please do) include, O my Lord, with this

(request) my family members (or my wife), my sons,

خواني فيكوإand my brethren-in-faith

نيحبحببت واومن ا


as well as all those whom I love and those who love me

وولدت وولدنيand my offspring and all my fathers and

mothers

لمؤمنينٱلمسلمين وٱمن among the Muslims and the believers,

لعالمينٱ يارب

O Lord of the worlds!


Dua to be recited before Salaat Witr

Ibn Ashyam says: It is advisable to say

this supplicatory prayer after offering the

eight-unit Salaat-Layl (Night Prayer) and

before offering the three-unit Salaat-

Witr.

تنفد خزائنه ال الذيالحمد لله

All praise be to Allah Whose treasures are inexhaustible

وال يخاف آمنه

and those whom are secured by Him shall never fear anything.

لمعاصيٱرتكبت ٱن إ رب

O my Lord, as I have committed acts of disobedience to You,


ي بكرمكفذلك ثقة منthis was only out of my full confidence

in Your generosity.

وبة عن عبادكلتٱك تقبل نإ

Verily, You accept the repentance of Your servants,

ئاتهموتعفو عن سي

pardon their wrongdoings,

لللزٱوتغفر and forgive their flaws.

مجيب لداعيكك نوإ

You verily respond to one who prays You,

ومنه قريب


and You are close to him.

لخطاياٱليك من نا تائب إ وا

I am repenting before You from my sins

لعطاياٱي من ليك في توفير حظوراغب إ

and from You do I desire for a good portion of Your donations.

لبراياٱيا خالق

O Creator of all beings!

شديدة يا منقذي من كل

O my Redeemer from all hardships!

محذور يا مجيري من كل

O my Rescuer from all perils!

رور لسٱ ر عليوف


(Please do) confer upon me with pleasure

مور الٱعواقب شر كفنيٱو

and save me from the evil end results of matters.

لله على نعمائك وجزيل عطائكٱ نتفا مشكور

Verily, You are Allah the thanked for Your bounties and affluent gifts

ولكل خير مذخور

and hoped for all good things.


First Day of the Month of Rajab

It is advisable to observe fasting on

this day. According to narrations,

Prophet Noah (`a) embarked on the Ark

on such a day; he therefore ordered his

companions to observe fasting. Hence,

whoever observes fasting on this day;

Hellfire will move away from him for a

distance of one year walking.

Taking a Ghusl is also advisable on

this day.


Long Dua for Day of 1st Rajab

It is recommended to recite this

supplication, for this day, that is

mentioned in the book of ‘Iqbal al-

A`maal’:

،يا اهلل يا اهلل ي أسألك يا اهللهم إنالل O Allah: I verily beseech You, O Allah;

O Allah; O Allah;

،ظيمالع كلمال يلاألز ديمالق أنت اهلل You are Allah; the Eternal, Whose

Great Kingdom is everlasting.

ميعلى السومال وميالق يالح أنت اهلل ،صيرالب


You are Allah; the Ever-living, the Self-Subsisting, the Master, the All-

hearing, and the All-seeing.

،للالجو زالع ن يا م O He to Whose Godhead, might and

majesty

،ةمظالعو ياءربالكو And grandeur and greatness

،ةردالقو ملالعو ةوالقو And power and knowledge and

potency

،وحالر و ورالنو And light and spirit

كلالمو ةمحالرو نانالحو ةئشيمالو،هتيبوبرل


And volition and tenderness and mercy and lordship—all these belong

to His Godhead.

،نور لك هل قرأش كنور To Your light, all lights glowed;

،نار لك هل دمخو And all fires abated;

.ماتلالظ لك ه ل رصحوان And all darkness submitted.

نالذي اشتققته م كمأسألك باس،كنور و كلأزو كمدق

I beseech You by Your Name that You derived from You eternity and infinity

and light;

نالذي اشتققته م مظاألع مبالسو


،كزعو كتمظعو كروتبجو كيائربك And by the Grandest Name that You

derived from Your grandeur and omnipotence and greatness and might;

،كتمح ر نالذي اشتققته م كودجبو And by Your magnanimity that You

derived from Your mercy;

،كتأفر نها متقق تتي اشال كتمحربو And by Your mercy that You derived

from Your clemency;

،كجود نها متققتتي اشال كتأفربو And by Your clemency that You

derived from Your magnanimity;

،كبيغ نالذي اشتققته م كجودبو


And by Your magnanimity that You derived from Your knowledge of the

unseen;

كوامد و كيامقو كتإحاطو كبيغبو.كمدقو

And by Your knowledge of the unseen, and Your comprehension of all things,

and Your subsistence, and Your perpetuity, and Your eternity.

نىسح ال كمائأس يعمجأسألك بو And I beseech You by all of Your Most

Excellent Names.

دمالص درالف داألح دأنت الواح إال هال إل،يالح


There is no god save You; the One, the One and Only, the Unique, the

Besought of all, the Ever-living,

،نالباط راهالظ رخاآل لاألو The Foremost of all things, the Last,

the Evident, the Immanent.

،ظيمع ماس لك كلو To You do belong all great names,

،بيغو نور لكو And all lights and unseen things,

،لومعمو ملعو And all knowledge and all known

things,

،أنشو كلمو And all kingdoms and all affairs.


اولع تيعالتو تسد قأنت ت إال هل إلبو.بيراك

And due to that there is no god save You, You have been Holy and Elevated

in high exaltation.

رطاه كل و ه ماس لكاللهم إني أسألك ب،رهطم

O Allah: I beseech You by all names that are Yours; names that are pure

and immaculate

،س دقم كبارم بيط And wholesome and blessed and holy;

ركفي الذ هتيرأج و كبتفي ك هتلزأن،كدنع


Whether You revealed in Your Books, or You added to the Reminder that

You keep,

كقل خ نم تئ ش نمل هب تيمستو Or You used it with any of Your

creatures that You willed

كيائبأنو كتكلئم ن م دأح هب كألس أو،هت يطأعف طيهعت ريخب كلسرو

Or by which any of Your angels or Prophets and Messengers besought You for granting him a welfare, and

You did,

،هتفرصف هفرص ت رش أو Or for saving him from an evil, and

You did,

.هك بأسأل غي أنبني


And I thus should beseech You by that name.

دائي لى أعني عرصن ت أن بفأسألك يا رياني،سلى ن ري عك ذ بلغتو

Hence, I beseech You, O my Lord, to give me victory over my enemies and

make my perception overcome my oblivion.

طانالس وايلى هلي عقعل لع جإاللهم ،بينام

O Allah: (please) give my intellect a manifest proof against my lusts,

،فيقوالتياري بتاخ نرقإو And attach my choices to appositeness,

وى،قبي التصاح لعجإو


And decide piety to be my companion,

.كبواهلى مع كركني شعز أوو And arouse me to thank You for Your

gifts,

كبيلإلى س داك هدني اللهم بواه،قيمتسالم كراطصو يمقالم

And, O Allah; guide me through Your true guidance to Your straight course

and Your right path.

ني لمحتف واتهمامي الشز كلمال تو،ذولينخمال ريقلى طع

And do not make desires control over me and thus take me to the way of the

disappointed ones,

،راتكنالم نيبني ويب لحو


And intervene between me and the forbidden things,

،عاناف ماللي ع لعاجو And decide for me advantageous

knowledge,

ال و روفعمال بلبي حفي ق سرأغو،ةتغ ني بذأخت

And implant in my heart the love for the good; and do not overtake me all of

a sudden,

.حيمالر ابوأنت الت كإن يلع بتو And accept my repentance; You are

verily the Oft-returning to mercy, the Merciful.

،هنميو رههذا الش ةكرني ب فرعو


And (please) acquaint me with the blessing and felicity of this month,

،هري شنع فراصو هريني خقزارو And confer upon me with its good and

keep away from me its evil,

،فيه ذورح مني القو And protect me against what is peril in

it,

،هقحب يامالق نم ه بحلى ما أي عنأعو And help me do that which I like from

the carrying out if its duty,

،هلضف ةفرعمو And the recognition of its virtue,

محيا أر زينالفائ نم ني فيهلعاجو.ميناحالر


And make me of the winners; O the most Merciful of all those who show

mercy.

عالت الم كماساللهم إني أسألك ب،ظيمالع ليلالج

O Allah: I beseech You by Your Name: the elevated, the lofty, and the great,

،دمالص دالواح كماسبو And by Your Name: the One, the

Besought of all,

لى،األع زيزالع كماسبو And by Your Name: the Almighty, the

All-high;

ها،لنى كسالح كمائأسبو And by all of Your Most Excellent

Names.


وات األص هل تعشخ ن يا م O He before Whom all sounds submit,

قابالر هل تعضخو And all necks yield,

،ناقاألع هل تلذو And all heads humble themselves,

،لوبالق هنم تلجوو And all hearts fear,

،يءش لك هل دانو And all things surrender,

،ضاألرو ماواتالس هب تقامو And by Whom the heavens and the

earth subsisted.

صاراألب ككردال ت ك أن دهأش


I bear witness that visions cannot comprehend You,

صاراألب كردوأنت ت While You comprehend all visions,

.يربالخ طيفوأنت الل And You are the Knower of subtleties,

the All-aware.

،رافيلإسو ميكائيلو ئيلربج بيا ر O the Lord of (Archangels) Gabriel and

Michael and Israfeel

ينيروبالك و بينرق الم ةكلئم ال ميعجو،بينالكات رامالكو

And all the favorite angles and the Cherubim and the noble, recording

angles


،كدمحب حينبسالم ةكلئم ال ميعجو And all the angels that praise You, declaring Your praiseworthiness,

،ريسإدو شيثو مآد برو And the Lord of Adam and Shayth and

Idrees

،حوصال هودو نوحو And Noah and Hud and Salih

ماعيلإسو راهيمإبو And Abraham and Ishmael

،لوطو حاقإسو And Isaac and Lot

باطاألسو فيوسو قوبعيو And Jacob and Joseph and the Tribes


موسىو وبأيو And Job and Moses

،عيبشو هارونو And Aaron and Shu`ayb

يا،مرإو مانيلسو ودوداو And David and Solomon and Jeremiah

،قيلزحو ريزعو And Ezra and Ezekiel

،ياسإليا وعشو And Joshua and Elias

،لفذي الكو سيونو عسلي إو And Elisha and Jonah and Dhu’l-Kifl

يى،حيا ويركزو And Zachariah and John


،جيسرجعيسى و و And Jesus and Georges

،نيعمأج مهيل ع ى اهلللمحمد صو And Muhammad, peace of Allah be

upon him and upon them all,

بينرقالم اهلل ةكلئ لى معو And peace be upon the favorite angels

of Allah

بينالكات رامالكو And upon the recording, noble angels,

حين بسالم لكماأل ميعجو And upon all the angels who praise

Him,

.ثيراك ليماست مسلو


And thorough benediction be upon them.

،رخاآل لنا األوبأنت ر You are our Lord; the Foremost of all,

the Last of all,

،نالباط راهالظ The Evident, the Immanent,

ضيناألرو ماواتالس تق لالذي خ It is You Who created the heavens and

the layers of the earth

،جيدمال شرلى العع تي وتاس مث And You then established Yourself on

the (Divine) Glorious Throne

،عيد تو ئدبنى تسالح كمائأسب


By Your Most Excellent Names, You originate (creation) & then reproduce

it,

،ثيثاح هبلطي هارالن ليشي اللغتو And You cover the night with the day,

which is in haste to follow it,

رمالقو سمالشو And the sun and the moon

كلالفو جومالنو And the stars and the orbit

قلالخو هورالدو And the ages and the creation;

،كرأمب رونخسم All these are subservient by Your

order.


.مينالعال بيا ر تيعالتو تكبارت Blessed and Exalted be You, O the

Lord of the worlds.

أنت إال هال إل There is no god save You;

اننمال اننالح The All-tender, the All-favorer,

،ضاألر و ماواتالس ديعب The wonderful Maker of the heavens

and the earth,

،رامكالو لل ذو الج The Lord of majesty and honor.

ربي لو كان البحر مدادا لكلمات Though the sea became ink for the

Words of my Lord,


لنفد البحر قبل أن تنفد كلمات ربيVerily, the sea would be used up before the words of my Lord were exhausted,

ولو جئنا بمثله مددا.even though We brought the like

thereof to help.

بالالج ثاقيلم ملعت You know the weights of mountains,

حار الب كائيلمو And the measures of oceans,

،ماللرا ددعو And the number of pebbles,

،طاراألم رطقو And the numbers of the drops of rain,


،جاراألش قر وو And the number of the leaves of trees,

ماءالس جومنو And the number of the stars in the

skies,

هيلع قرأشو ليالل هيلع ملما أظو،هارالن

As well as whatever is covered by darkness of night and whatever is

under the daylight.

ضال أرو ماءس ماءس كنواري م ال ي،ضاأر

No sky can screen You from another sky and no layer can screen You from

another layer,


،قطابتم رحال بو Neither does any wavy ocean

،توقالر دس نيال ما بو Or anything that lies between the

blockage of mendings

.ثوثبمال باءاله نم رارال ما في القو Or anything of the spread motes that

lie in the depths.

نون كمال زونخم ال كماسأسألك ب I beseech You by Your Name; the

stored, the concealed,

،نيرالم ورالن The luminous light,

،بينالم قحال The true right,


نور نم الذي هو نور Which is light made of light

،لى نورع نورو And light on light,

،نور لك قوف نورو And light over all lights,

،نور لك عم نورو And light with all lights,

،نور لك هلو And to Your Name does belong the

entire light.

،ورالن بيا ر كنم From You, O Lord, is the light,

.ورالن عجر ي كيلإو


And to You does the light return,

،ةملظ لك هب يءضالذي ت كنوربو And by Your light are all darknesses

lit,

،ريدم طانيش لك ديك هب لطبتو And by Your Name is the trick of all rebellious devils made ineffective,

،نيدع اربج لك هب لذتو And by Your Name are all the obstinate tyrants humiliated,

ك قلخ نم يءش هل قومال يو And nothing can stand with it against

Your will,

،رحالبو رالب هتمظعل عدصتيو And because of its grandeur, the lands

and the oceans are split,


،هب ملكتي حين ةكلئمال لقتستو And angels keep silent when there is

speech about it,

ظيمالع شر الع ةلمح هتيشخ ن م دعرتو And due to fear of it, the angels

bearing the Great Throne tremble in awe,

،عبالس ضيناألر خومإلى ت so do all those of lower states, down to those in the lowest layers of the earth.

،حارالب هب تق لف الذي ان Through it, oceans burst,

،هاراألن هب ترجو And rivers flow,

،يونالع هب ترجفتو


And springs split,

،ومجالن هب تسارو And stars move,

،يرجأ و حابالس هب مكرأو And clouds are accumulated and

moved

،بابالض هب لدتاعو And fog straighten up,

،مالالر هب تهالو And sands heap,

بالالج هب تسرو And mountains settle down,

،ضوناألر هب ترقتاسو And the layers of the earth become

stable,


رطالق هب لزنو And drops of rain descend,

،بالح هب جرخو And seeds grow up,

،قلالخ لتبج هب تقرفتو And creation have become of various

kinds,

،ياحالر هب تقفخو And winds blow

.واحاألر هب تسفنتو ترشتانو And souls spread and breathe.

،ةيلهالى بمستأنت الم هلل يا ا O Allah: It is You to Whom Godhead is

ascribed;


رباألك بيرالك كمسا ب (I beseech You) by Your Name: the big,

the All-big,

م ظاألع ظيمالع The great, the All-great,

،جوهالو هل تنالذي ع Before which all faces humble

themselves.

،الءاآلو لويا ذا الط O the Lord of bounty and graces:

،ريبأنت يا ق إال هال إل There is no god save You, O the Nigh;

هالك ك مائأس ميع جأسألك اللهم ب I beseech You, O Allah, by all of Your

Names,

،ملأع مما ل نها وم ت ملما ع Those which I know and those which I

do not;

كل وه ماس لكبو And by every Name that belongs to

You;

دمح م لآلى محمد وع يلصت نأ (I beseech You) to send blessings upon

Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

دائيعأ رمأني يفكت نأو And to rescue me from the plots of my

enemies


نايني مغلبتو And to make me attain my hope;

.ميناحالر محرأيا O the most Merciful of all those who

show mercy.

محمد، لآلى محمد وع لاللهم ص O Allah: (please) send blessings upon

Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

محمد ل آو دامحم محوار And have mercy upon Muhammad and

the Household of Muhammad

محمد، آللى محمد وع كبارو And bless Muhammad and the

Household of Muhammad


تمحرتو تكبارو تمحرو تيلما صكراهيمإب آلو راهيملى إبع

As You sent blessings, mercy, benedictions, and clemency upon

(Prophet) Abraham and the household of Abraham.

،جيدم ميدح كإن Verily, You are verily worthy of all

praise, full of all glory.

فرالشو ةسيلالو دامحم طاللهم أع O Allah: (please) grant Muhammad the right of intercession and an honorable

station

كقلخ لىع ةضيلالفو ةعفالرو And an exalted position and

preference over all Your creatutes,


،هاتيحت نيفطصفي الم لعاجو And decide him to be the target of the

Chosen Ones’ greetings,

،هتجرد ينيلفي العو And elevate his rank to the most

exalted place,

،هتلزنم بينرقفي المو And put his position within the position of the Favorite Ones.

كتكلئم ميعلى جع لاللهم ص O Allah: (please) send blessings upon

all of Your angels

كلسرو كيائبأنو And Prophets and Messengers

.كتاع ط لأهو


And people of obedience to You.

ناتؤمالمو نينؤمملل رفاللهم اغ O Allah: (please) forgive the believing

men and women

ماتلسالمو مينلسالمو And the Muslim men and women,

،واتاألمو مهنم ياءحاأل The alive and the dead,

،راتيلى الخع مهلوبقنا ولوبق نيب فألو And (please) put affection between our

and their hearts on good things.

هآلو يهلع ى اهللل ص دامحم زجإاللهم O Allah: (please) award Muhammad—

peace of Allah be upon him and his Household—


،ه تمأ نع ايبن تيزما ج لضأف With the best award that You have

ever given to a Prophet on behalf of his people,

كل آياتما تك An award that befits his having recited

Your verses,

،هب هتلسما أر غلبو And conveyed that with which You

sent him,

هتمأل حصنو And wished well for his nation,

قينالي ى أتاهتح كدبعو And worshipped You until death came

upon him.


.بينيالط هلى آلعو هيلع ى اهلللص Allah’s blessings be upon him and upon his Immaculate Household.

(تبارك الله رب العالمين) “Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the

Worlds!”

(تبارك الله أحسن الخالقين) “Blessed be Allah, the Best of

creators!”

الذي نزل الفرقان على عبده تبارك).ليكون للعالمين نذيرا

“Blessed is He Who hath revealed unto His slave the Criterion (of right and

wrong), that he may be a warner to the peoples.


الذي له ملك السماوات واألرضHe unto Whom belongs the

Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth,

يتخذ ولداولم He has chosen no son

ولم يكن له شريك في الملكNor has He any partner in the

Sovereignty.

(وخلق كل شيء فقدره تقديرا He has created everything and has

meted out for it a measure.”

شاء جعل لك خيرا من تبارك الذي إن ) ذلك


“Blessed is He Who, if He will, will assign You better than all that;

جنات تجري من تحتها األنهارGardens underneath which rivers flow,

(ويجعل لك قصورا and will assign You mansions.”

الذي له ملك السماوات كوتبار) واألرض وما بينهما

“And blessed be He unto Whom belongs the Sovereignty of the heavens

and the earth and all that is between them,

وعنده علم الساعةand with Whom is knowledge of the

Hour,


.(ه ترجعونوإلي and to Whom you will be returned.”

.(اسم ربك ذي الجلل والكرام تبارك) “Blessed be the name of your Lord,

Mighty and glorious.”

الذي بيده الملك وهو على كل تبارك) شيء قدير

“Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all

things;

خلق الموت والحياة ليبلوكم أيكم الذي أحسن عمل

Who has created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in

conduct;


.(الغفوروهو العزيز and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving.”

الذي جعل في السماء بروجا تبارك) “Blessed be He Who has placed in the

heaven mansions of the stars,

.(وجعل فيها سراجا وقمرا منيرا and has placed therein a great lamp and a

moon giving light.”

You may then add the following:

تي ال ها اللك اتامالت اهلل ماتلكب أعوذ،رال فاجو رب نهزجاوي

I seek the protection of all of the Perfect Words of Allah that neither an upright one nor can a licentious one

exceed them,


،هنودجو ليسبإ ر ش نم Against the evil of Iblees and his

troops,

،طانلسو طانيش لك رش نمو And against the evil of all devils and

rulers

،نكاهو رساحو And sorcerers and magicians

.رذي ش لك رشو And against the evil of all evil ones.

دينيسي وفن ك عدوتاللهم إني أس O Allah: I keep as trust with You my

self and my religion

ريصبعي ومسو And my hearing and my sight


حيوارج ميعجدي وسجو And my body and all my organs

أوالديمالي ولي وأهو And my family members and my

property and my children

،ه رنيني أمعي نم ميعجو And all those for whose affairs I am

responsible

ليمع واتيمخو And the seal of my deeds

نيتقز رني وتلوخ ني وتكلما م رسائو And all that which You have given me

in possession and authorized me to dispose and provided me

يلع ه ب تمعأنو


And conferred upon me

،ناتؤمالمو نينؤمالم ميعجو And all the believing men and women.

عدوتس م رييا خ O the best of trustees;

ظ حاف رييا خو O the best of keepers;

.ميناحالر محيا أرو O the most Merciful of all those

showing mercy.

:كماساللهم إني أسألك ب O Allah: I beseech You by Your Name:

،اهلل اهلل اهلل اهلل اهلل Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah,


،ظيمالع شرالع بر وه إال هالذي ال إل There is no god save You, the Lord of

the Great Throne;

محمد آللى محمد وع يلصت أن (I beseech You) to send blessings upon

Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

ينع جرفت أنو And to relieve me;

،نفيه نمو ضيناألرو ماواتالس بيا ر O the Lord of the heavens and the

earth and whoever is therein;

حارالب يرجمو O He Who causes oceans to flow

،نفيه نم قرازو


And provides provisions to whatever is therein

هاباقأط و ضينراألو ماواتالس رفاطو O the Originator of the heavens and

the earth and their layers,

.كل الف يرجمو حابالس رخسمو And He Who causes the clouds to be

obedient (to Him) and He Who causes ships to move,

،نورا رمالقو ياءض سمالش لجاعو And He Who appoints the sun a splendor and the moon a light,

،لمالس هيلع مآد قخالو And He Who is the Creator of Adam,

peace be upon him,

نم لمالس مهي لع ياءباألن ئشنمو


،هتيرذ And the Maker of the Propehts from his offspring—peace be upon them,

سابالحو جومالن ددع ريسإد ملعمو،ماناألز قاتأوو هورالشو نينالسو

And He Who taught Idrees to calculate the stars, and taught him the

reckoning and the number of years and months and the time;

موسى، ملكمو And He Who spoke to Moses

،باناعث صاهع لجاعو And caused his stick to be serpent,

لى موسى ع واحفي األل راةوالت لزنمو.لمالس هيلع


And revealed the Torah in the tablets to Moses, peace be upon him;

،نوحل كلالف يرجمو And He Who caused the ark of Noah to

run,

،حبالذ نم ماعيلإس يفادو And He Who ransomed Ishmael from

slaughtering,

،ف يوس دقفب قوبعي يلتبالمو And He Who tried Jacob by the loss of

Joseph

يناهع تضياب أن دع ب هيلع فيوس رادو،كاءالب نم

And He Who restored Joseph to him (i.e. his father) after his eyes had

become white, out of heavy weeping.


جى،الشو نزالح نم هب لق جرفتف Hence, his heart got rid of sadness and

sorrow;

دعب ربلى الكيى عحا يير كز قرازوياسال

And He Who granted Zachariah, in his old age, John as son after he had

despaired of so;

،حصالل ةاقالن جرخمو And He Who sent forth the she-camel

to (Prophet) Salih;

،كيدي هودلى مع ةيحالص لسرمو And He Who sent forth the awful cry

on those who plotted against (Propeht) Hud,


،وبأي نع لءالب فكاشو And He Who relieved Job from his

adversity,

.شينالفاح مو الق نم وطجي لنمو And He Who saved (Prophet) Lot from

the committers of abomination;

،مانقلل ةمكالح بواهو And He Who bestowed upon Luqman

with wisdom;

مريلى مع هماتلكب سدالق وحلقي رمو،لمالسها يلع

And He Who ordered the Holy Spirit to convey His Words to Mary, peace be

upon her,

هيل عيسى ع كدبها عن م تقلخو


،لمالس And He created from her His servant,

Jesus, peace be upon him,

ا يركز نيى بح ي ةلتق نم مقتنالمو،لمما السهيلع

And He Who punished the slayers of Joan, son of Zachariah, peace be upon

both of them;

ك مائعيسى إلى س كعفروأسألك ب I beseech You by Your taking Jesus up

to Your heavens,

نم هل مقتنت إلى أن هل كقائبإبو.كدائأع

And by Your keeping him alive until You decide to retaliate upon Your

enemies for him.


هآلو هي لع ى اهللل محمد ص لسريا موكيائبأن مخات

O He Who sent Muhammad—peace of Allah be upon him and his

Household—the seal of Your Prophets,

،ةنسالح كعرائشب كبادع رإلى أش To the most evil of Your slaves, carrying to them Your excellent

commandments,

،ميالق كدينو And Your straight religion,

لمالس هيلع كليل خ راهيمإب ةلمو Which is extension of the religion of

Your intimate friend, Abraham, peace be upon him,


،ميالق هدين هارإظو And (You sent him for) making His

straight religion prevail over all religions,

هتملك كإعلئو And making His Word be the highest.

،كرامالو لليا ذا الج O the Lord of majesty and honor;

،موال نو ة نس هذأخال ت ن يا م O He Whom is not overtaken by sleep

or slumber;

دميا ص ديا أح O the One and Only; O the Besought of

all;

،ريا قاه ريا قاد زيزيا ع


O the Almighty; O the Able; O the Omnipotent;

لطان والس ةويا ذا الق O the Owner of power and authority

.ياءربالكو روت بالجو And supremacy and grandeur;

ديريا ق يليا ع O the Most High; O the All-powerful;

،جيبيا م ريب يا ق O the Nigh; O the Responding;

،عيديا م ليميا ح O the Forebearing; O the Reproducer

(of creation);

،عيد يا ب انيدتيا م O the Approaching; O the Far-off;


حيميا ر ؤوفيا ر O the All-kind; O the All-merciful;

،فوريا غ ريميا ك O the All-generous; O the All-

forgiving;

حفيا ذا الص O the Owner of excuse;

،معطيا م غيث يا م O the Aide; O the provider of food;

يا شافي يا كافي،O the Healer; O the Rescuer;

عافي،يا كاسي يا م O the Provider with dress; O the Curer;

،ريا شافي الض


O the Alleviator of harms;

.دوديا و كيميا ح ليميا ع O the All-knowing; O the All-wise; O

the All-loving;

حيميا ر فوريا غ O the All-forgiver; O the All-merciful:

،ةرخاآلنيا والد مان حيا ر O the Beneficent of this world and the

Hereafter;

،سديا ذا الق جعارميا ذا ال O the Lord of the Ascending Stairways;

O the Lord of sanctity;

ليميا ع قيا خال O the Creator; O the All-knowing;

ابيا أو ج رفيا م


O the Reliever; O the Turning with mercy;

،بيريا خ لويا ذا الط O the Lord of bounty; O the All-aware;

قلخي ملو قل خ ن يا م O He Who created, but He was not

created;

،دولي ملو دلي مل ن يا م O He Who never begets nor was he

begotten;

ياءاألش نم بان ن يا م O He Who is different from all things;

هاضوعخها ول هرهق ب هنم ياءاألش وبانت ،هل


And all things are different from Him out of His prevelance over them and

their submission before Him;

هاررى األنأجو حارالب قل خ ن يا م O He Who created the oceans and

caused the rivers to flow;

،ارها الننم جرأخو جاراألش تبأنو And He caused the trees to grow and

He extracted fire from them

ناباألعو باتالن ضيناألر س ياب نمو.مارالث رئساو

And extracted plants and rapes and the other fruits from the dry lands.

لمالس هيلموسى ع هدبعل حرالب قيا فال،هملكمو


O He Who set apart the river for His servant, Moses, peace be upon him,

and He Who spoke to him,

هبزحو نوعرف قرغمو And He Who drowned Pharaoh and

faction

،هياعأشو رودم ن كلهمو And He Who destroyed Nimrud and

his groups

هيلع دوداو هتليفخل ديدالح نيلمو،لمالس

And He Who made the iron pliant for His vicegerent, David, peace be upon

him,

ودالغب نحبسي ه عم بالالج رخسمو


،صالاآلو And He Who subdued the hills to

hymn the praises (of their Lord) with him at nightfall and sunrise;

نالجو ياح الرو وامالهو ريالط رخسمولمالس هيلع ماني لس كدبعل سنالو

And He Who subdued the birds and the verments and the winds and the

jinn and the humankind for His servant, Solomon, peace be upon him;

كشرع هل زتالذي اه كماسوأسألك ب I beseech You by Your Name to which

Your Throen shook

،كتكلئم هب تحرفو And by which Your angels were

delighted;


أنت إال هل إلف So, there is no god save You;

،ةبالح قفالوى والن ئبارو ةمس الن قخال The Creator of souls and the Maker of

seeds and the Splitter of grains;

.عالتالم بيرالك ليلالج زيزالع كماسبو And by Your Name: the Almighty, the

Lofty, the Great, the high Exalted;

ككلمو كدبع هب خ فنالذي ي كماسبو،ورفي الص لمالس هيلع رافيلإس

And by Your Name by which Your servant and angel, Michael, peace be upon him, shall blow the Trumpet,

رشحمإلى ال راعاس بورالق لأه قوميف،لونسني


And thus the inhabitants of graves shall stand up, hasting to the place of

resurrection;

نم ماواتالس هب ت عفالذي ر كماسبومادع ريغ

And by Your Name by which You uplifted the heavens without supports

،أوتادا ضينألرل ه ب تلعجو And by which You made bulwarks for

the earth;

قوف ضيناألر هب تح طالذي س كماسبو،بوسحمال الماء

And by Your Name by which You surfaced the earth on the repressed

water;


الماء كذل هب تسبالذي ح كماسبو And by Your Name by which You

repressed that water;

نم ضيناألر هب تل مالذي ح كماسبوها،لمحل هترتاخ

And by Your Name by which You caused him whom You chose for

undertaking the earth to undertake it

لى ع هب عان تما اس ةوالق نم هل تلعجوها.لمح

And You supplied him with the power that helped him undertake it;

،رمالقو سمالش هري بجالذي ت كماسبو And by Your Name by which the sun

and the moon move;


نم هارالن هب تخ لالذي س كماسبو،ليالل

And by Your Name by which You strip the day of the night;

زاقأر تلزأن هب عيتالذي إذا د كماسبوبادالع

And by Your Name; if You are prayed by it, You bring down the provisions of

the servants

كقل خ ميعجو And all Your creatures

كحارب و كضأرو And Your lands and Your oceans

،وامالهو حارالب انكسو


And the inhabitants of the oceans and the verments

س النو نالجو And the jinn and the humankind

هاتيناصب ذ أنت آخ ةداب لكو And every creeping creature that You

grasp by the forelock!

.ديرق يءش للى كع كنإ You verily have power over all things.

هيلع رفع جل هب تل عالذي ج كماسبو،ةكلئمال ع م هب طيري ناحاج لمالس

And by Your Name by which You made a wing for Ja`far, peace be upon him,

by which he flies with the angels;

هيلع سون ي هب عاك الذي د كماسبو


،هنم هتجرأخف الحوت نطفي ب لمالس And by Your Name by which Jonah—peace be upon him—prayed You from

the interior of the whale; and You thus took him out of there;

ن م ةرجش هيلع هب تبالذي أن كماسبو،طينقي

And by Your Name by which You caused a tree of gourd to grow above

him;

فيه ما كان هنع تف شكو هل تبجتاسف.الحوت نطب ضيق نم

Hence, You responded to him and relieved from the distress that he had

experienced in the interior of the whale;


كدبلى محمد عع يلصت أسألك أن،بينيالط هلى آلعو كسولرو

I beseech You to send blessings upon Muhammad, Your servant and Your

Messenger, and upon his Household, the Immaculate,

ي رض فشك تي ونع جرفت أنوتي،رطو نني مذقنتستو

And to relieve me (from my distress) and to remove away my harm and to

save me from my troubles

تي،نحم نني مصلختو And to release me from my ordeal

يوني،ي دن ع يضقتو And to help me settle my debts


تي،ي أماننع يدؤتو And to help me fulfill my trust

دائي،ع أ تبكتو And to suppress my enemies

ادي،سبي ح تمشال تو And not to make those who envy me

rejoice at my misfortune

،هلي ب ةما ال طاقني بيلتبال تو And not to try me through that which I

cannot stand

تي،ينمأني غلبت أنو And to make me attain my hope

،محنتيلي لهستو And to make easy for me my ordeal


تي،لي أراد رسيتو And to facilitate my determination

تي،يغإلى بني لوصتو And to make me reach my desire

،نيار الد ريلي خ عمجتو And to join for me the welfare of the two abodes (i.e. this world and the

Next World)

،هرمأنيني عي نم لكني وسرحتو And to safeguard me as well as

everybody for whom I care

،هارالنو ليفي الل نامتي ال تال كينعب With Your eye that never sleeps at

night or in days;

.ظامالع ماءاألسو رامكوال لليا ذا الج


O the Lord of majesty and honor and Grand Names.

نابو كدبع نابو كدبأنا ع باللهم يا ر كتأم

O Allah: O my Lord: I am verily Your servant and the son of Your servant

and Your bondwoman

ى اهلللص كيبن تيب لأه ياء لأو نمو،مهي لعو هيلع

And I am one of the loyalists of Your Prophet’s Household—peace of Allah

be upon him and them—

مهيلع تك بار ذينال Upon whom You showered blessings

مهيلع تيلصو مهتمحرو


And whom You had mercy and You blessed

آلو راهيملى إب ع تكبارو تيلما صك إبراهيم

In the same way as You blessed and sanctified Abraham and the household

of Abraham;

،جيدم ميدح كإن Verily, You are worthy of all praise,

full of all Glory.

،كلوطو كدجملو And depending upon Your glory and

Your bountifulness,

اه بيا ر اهبأسألك يا ر I beseech You; O my Lord; O my Lord;


اه بيا ر اه بيا ر O my Lord; O my Lord;




ك سولرو كدبمحمد ع قحب In the name of Muhammad, Your

servant and Messenger,

،هآلو هيلع ى اهلللص Peace of Allah be upon his and his

Household,


كسفلى نع كقحبو And in the name of Your duty toward

Yourself

اديسحدائي وأع تمصخ إال That You may be the enemy of my enemies and those who envy me

،مهنلي م تمقتانو مهتلذخو And that You may disappoint them

and revenge on them for me

،مهرني أمتيفكو مهيلني عترهأظو And make me prevail on them and do

with them on my behalf

،مهنني متسرحو مهيلني عترصنو And that You may grant me victory

over them and guard me against them


قيزفي ر يلع تعسوو And expand my sustenance

ليأم ةني غايتغلبو And make me attain the ultimate of my

hopes;

.جيبم ميعس كإن Verily, You are All-hearing, Responding.



(1st, 15th and Last Day of Rajab)

Salman Farsi narrates that Prophet

Muhammad (saws) said "O Salmaan,

there is no Mumin/Muminah (True

Believer/Female Believer) who

performs 30 Raka' in the month of

Rajab (10 units on 1st, 10 units on 15th

& 10 units on the last day) and in each

Raka'ah recites Surah Al Faatihah once,

Surah Al-Ikhlaas 3 times, and Surah Al

Kafiroon 3 times; that Allah does forgive

them their sins and bestows rewards

upon them as upon a person who has

fasted a whole month.

He becomes among those who will be

steadfast in their salaat in the year which

is to come. For him, the deeds of the day

are equal to that of the martyr. He will be


raised with the Martyrs of the Holy

Battle of Badr. For him is written for the

fast of each day, one year's worship. His

station is raised 1000 times higher.”

He said Jibreel informed me "O

Muhammad this is the sign between you

and the Mushrikeen (Polytheists) and the

Munaafiqeen (Hypocrites) because the

Munafiq does not perform this Salaat."

Method of Salaah:

10 Raka' and in each Raka' recite; Surah

Al-Fatihah once, Surah Al Ikhlas 3

times and Surah Al Kafiroon 3 times

and after you recite you’re Salaam (at the

end of each 2 units) raise your hands and

say:

للهٱه إال لإ الThere is no god save Allah,

شريك له الوحده the One and Only Who has no partner.

لحمد ٱلملك وله ٱله

To him is the kingdom and to Him is all praise.

يحيي ويميت

He gives life and causes to die

يموت ال وهو حي

while He is Ever-living and never dies.

لخيرٱبيده

In His hand is the good


شيء قدير وهو على كل

and He has power over all things.

Then add the following:

(Same method is used to recite the Salaat

for the 3 days ie 1st, 15th & the last day of

the month of Rajab, but only the last

invocation is different as under; Spread

your hands over your face upon

completion of invocation and submit

your request.)

For 1st of Rajab:

عطيت مانع لما ا ال اللهم O Allah, verily, none can ever divest him

whom You decide to give,


وال معطي لما منعت none can ever give him whom You

decide to deprive,

لجدٱمنك لجدٱوال ينفع ذا

and nothing can ever stop that which You decide.

For 15th of Rajab:

حداها واحدا الإThe Lord Who is One, One and Only,

فردا صمداSingular, and Besought by the all

خذ صاحبة وال ولدالم يت

has betaken neither a wife nor a son.


For Last Day of Rajab:

لطاهرينٱد وآله محملله على ٱوصلى May Allah send blessings to

Muhammad and upon his Household, the Immaculate

لعظيمٱ لعليٱة إال بٱلله وال حول وال قو

There is neither might nor power save with Allah, the Most High, the All-great.


Laylatul Raghaib - First Shabe

Juma’ (Night Preceding Friday) of

Rajab

One should observe fasting on the first

Thursday in Rajab. Between the Maghrib

(sunset) and `Isha' (evening) Prayers, one

should offer a 12 unit prayer each couple

of which is separated by Taslim. In each

unit, one should recite Surah al-Fatihah

once, Surah al-Qadr three times, and

Surah al-Tawhid twelve times.

After accomplishing the prayer, one

should repeat the following invocation of

blessings 70 times:

يمالٱ بيلنٱد على محم اللهم صل آله على و


O Allah, (please do) send blessings to Muhammad, the Ummi Prophet, and

upon his Household.

Then, one should prostrate himself and

repeat this litany 70 times:

لروح ٱئكة و لملٱرب سبوح قدوس

Glorified (is He), Holy (is He), the Lord of the angels and the Spirit.

Then, one should raise the head from

prostration and repeat this supplicatory

prayer 70 times:

رحم ٱغفر وٱ رب

O my Lord, (please do) forgive (me), have mercy (upon me),


وتجاوز عما تعلم and overlook (my wrongdoings) that

You know.

عظمالٱ لعليٱنت ك اإنSurely, You are the Most High, the

Greatest.

One should then prostrate himself again

and repeat the same litany seventy times:

لروح ٱوئكة لملٱرب سبوح قدوس

Glorified (is He), Holy (is He), the Lord of the angels and the Spirit.

Then, one may pray Almighty Allah for

granting one’s needs, for they will be

surely granted, God willing.


As is mentioned by Sayyid Ibn Tawus

in Iqbal al-A`maal and `Allamah al-

Majlisi in Ijazat Bani-Zuhrah, the

rewards of one who offers this prayer

are (1) a great number of his sins are

forgiven, (2) on the first night in the

grave, Almighty Allah sends him the

reward of this prayer in the form of a life

form with happy mien and fluency to say

to him, “Good tidings, darling! You have

escaped all hardships.” The offerer of

this prayer will then ask, “Who are you?

Indeed, I have never seen such s good-

looking face, I have never heard such

fluent words, and I have never smelled

such nice scent.” He will be answered, “I

am the reward of the prayer you offered

at so-and-so night in so-and-so month in

so-and-so year at the town of so-and-so.


I am here now to give you your due,

entertain you in your loneliness, and

save you from this cheerless situation.

When the Trumpet shall be blown

(declaring the Resurrection Day), I will

cast a shadow over your head in the

Resurrection Court. So, be happy, for

you shall never be deprived of

goodness.”


Salaah for Eve of 7th Rajab


Salaah for Night of 13th, 14th and 15th

Rajab

It is recommended to offer a certain

prayer on each of the White Nights (i.e.

the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth

nights of each Arabic month) in Rajab,

Sha`ban, and Ramadan.

On the 13th Night , recite a 2 Raka’

Salaah, in each unit after Sura Fatihah

recite Sura Yasin, Sura Mulk and Sura

Tawheed once each.

On the 14th Night recite a 4 Raka’ and

on the 15th Night recite a 6 Raka’ Salaah

with the same method as mentioned

above.

Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (as) is reported as

saying, “Whoever offers these prayers,

will be awarded the merits of these three


months (namely, Rajab, Sha`ban, and

Ramadan) and will have all his sins

forgiven, except polytheism.


Night of 15th Rajab

• Taking a Ghusl is an advisable act at

this night.

• As said by `Allamah al-Majlisi, It is

recommended to spend this whole

night with acts of worship.

• It is recommended to visit the holy

shrine of Imam al-Husayn (`a) at

this night. Recite Ziyarah Special to

the night of 15th Rajab

• It is recommended to offer a prayer

consisting of 30 units in each of

which one should recite Surah al-

Fatihah one time and Surah al-Tawheed ten times. Sayyid Ibn

Tawus has reported this prayer from

the Holy Prophet (saws) with an

abundant reward.


• It is recommended to offer another

prayer consisting of twelve units in

each of which Surahs of al-Fatihah,

al-Tawheed, al-Falaq, al-Nas, al-

Qadr, and Ayah al-Kursi should be

recited four times each. After

accomplishing the prayer, one

should repeat the following litany

four times:

يالله الله رب Allah, Allah is my Lord.

شرك به شيئاا الI do not associate anyone with Him

خذ من دونه ولياتوال ا

and I do not betake any Master other than Him.


One may then submit his requests.

Another Narration for the same

Namaz:

(Also for Night of 27th Rajab)

Shaykh al-Tusi, in Misbah al-

Mutahajjid, has mentioned that Dawud

ibn Sarhan narrated that Imam Ja`far al-

Sadiq (`a) said the following:

On the fifteenth night of Rajab, you

may offer a twelve-unit prayer in each

unit of which you may recite Surah al-

Fatihah and any other Surah. When you

finish, you may recite Surah al-Fatihah,

al-Falaq, al-Nas, al-Tawheed, and

Ayah al-Kursi each four times. After

that, you may repeat the following litany

four times:


ٱللهسبحان All glory be to Allah,

لحمد للهٱوall praise be to Allah,

للهٱه إال لوال إthere is no god save Allah,

كبرلله اٱو

and Allah is the Greatest.

Then, you may say the following:

يالله الله رب Allah, Allah is my Lord.

شرك به شيئاا الI do not associate anyone with Him.


للهٱوما شاء Only shall that which Allah wills

happen.

لعظيمٱ لعليٱة إال بٱلله قو ال

There is no power save with Allah, the Most High, the All-great.


Day of 15th Rajab

Take a Ghusl on this day

• It is recommended to visit the holy

shrine of Imam al-Husayn (as) on

this day. In this respect, it has been

narrated that Abu-Basir asked Imam

al-Ridha (as) about the best times of

visiting Imam al-Husayn’s tomb.

The Imam (`a) answered, “These are

the fifteenth of Rajab and the

fifteenth of Sha`ban.”

• Recite Salaah of Salman Farsi

• One may offer a four-unit prayer

after the accomplishment of which,

one may extend the hands and say

the following supplicatory prayer:

جبار كل اللهم يا مذل


O Allah, O He Who humiliates all the tyrants!

لمؤمنينٱ ويا معز

O He Who dignifies the believers!

لمذاهبٱنت كهفي حين تعييني ا

Verily, You are my Shelter when all courses mislead me

بارئ خلقي رحمة بي نتوا

and You are the Maker of my creation out of Your having mercy upon me,

وقد كنت عن خلقي غنيا

while You have never needed to create me.

لهالكين ٱرحمتك لكنت من ولوال

Were it not for Your mercy, I would be of those who perish.


عدائيصر على النٱدي بنت مؤيوا

You are my backer against my enemies,

ياي لكنت من نصرك إ الولو لمفضوحينٱ

and were it not for Your support, I would be of those who are exposed.

حمة من معادنهالرٱيا مرسل

O He Who sends mercy from its origin!

لبركة من مواضعهاٱومنشئ

O He Who originates blessings from their centers!

فعةلرٱموخ و لشٱنفسه ب يا من خص

O He Who has given Himself exclusively disdain and elevation;


زونه يتعزولياؤه بعزفاtherefore, His saints feel dignified out

of His Honor!

ة لمذلٱلملوك نير ٱويا من وضعت له عناقهمعلى ا

O He for Whom all kings have put the yoke of humiliation on their necks;

فهم من سطواته خائفونthey are therefore fearful of His

supremacy!

شتققتها من ٱتي لٱتك لك بكينونيساا كبريائك

I pray You in the name of Your Entity from which You have derived Your

Pride,


شتققتها من ٱتي لٱلك بكبريائك ساوا تكعز

I pray You in the name of Your Pride from which You have derived Your

Dignity,

ستويت بها على ٱتي لٱتك لك بعزساوا عرشك

I pray You in the name of Your Dignity by which You have been firmly

established on the throne of authority;

فخلقت بها جميع خلقك

so, You have created all Your creatures who are,

فهم لك مذعنون

as a result, submissive to You.


بيتههل د واي على محمن تصلا

[I pray You to] send blessings to Muhammad and upon his

Household.

According to a narration, any aggrieved

person who says this supplicatory prayer

will have his grief released by Allah.

Amaal of Umme Dawood

The most important rite on the day of

15th Rajab is to say the supplicatory

prayer known as Du`a' Ummi-Dawud. This great supplicatory prayer

brings about innumerable rewards some

of which are that it grants the requests,

relieves from anguishes, and saves from

the persecutions of the wrongdoers.


In the word of Shaykh al-Tusi, in his

book of Misbah al-Mutahajjid, one

who intends to do this rite is required to

observe fasting on the thirteenth,

fourteenth, and fifteenth days of Rajab.

On the 15th day, one should perfrom a

Ghusl close to noon and recite Zuhr and

Asr prayers on time dutifully. One

should choose a quiet spot where he

would not be disturbed and people would

not converse with him/her. After the

(obligatory) prayer is accomplished, one

should face the kiblah direction and

recite the following:

لعظيمٱلله ٱصدق

True are the words of Allah, the All-great.

إال هوه لإ الذي لٱ

There is no god save Him, وملقي ٱ لحيٱ

the Ever-living, the Eternal, كراملٱلجلل وٱ ذو

The Lord of Majesty and Honor,


حيملرٱحمن لرٱ

the All-beneficent, the All-merciful, لكريمٱلحليم ٱ

the Forbearing, the All-generous. ذي ليس كمثله شيءلٱ

There is nothing like Him, لعليم ٱميع لسٱوهو

and He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing,

لخبير ٱلبصير ٱ

the All-seeing, the All-aware. إله إال هو اله نلله اٱشهد

Allah bears witness that there is no god but He,


لعلمٱلو والملئكة وٱو

and (so do) the angels and those possessed of knowledge,

لقسطٱقائما ب

maintaining His creation with justice. لحكيم ٱلعزيز ٱإله إال هو ال

There is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise.

لكرامٱغت رسله وبل

His noble Messengers have conveyed the mission

لشاهدينٱك من نا على ذلوا

and I am of those who bear witness to that.

لحمدٱلك همالل


O Allah, to You belongs praise, لمجدٱولك

to You belongs glory, لعز ٱولك

to You belongs might, لفخرٱولك

to You belongs pride, لقهر ٱولك

to You belongs supreme power, عمةلنٱولك

to You belong bounties, لعظمةٱولك

to You belongs greatness, حمةلرٱولك


to You belongs mercy, لمهابةٱولك

to You belongs reverence, لطانلسٱولك

to You belongs sovereignty, لبهاءٱولك

to You belongs beauty, متنانالٱولك

to You belongs benevolence, سبيحلتٱولك

to You belongs glorification, قديس لتٱولك

to You belongs holiness, هليل لتٱولك


to You belongs the confession of Your being the One and Only God,

كبيرلتٱولك

to You belongs the confession of Your being the most Great Lord,

ولك ما يرى

to You belongs that which is seen, يرى الولك ما

to You belongs that which is not seen, لعلىٱماوات لسٱولك ما فوق

to You belongs that which is far above the high heavens,

رىلثٱولك ما تحت

to You belongs that which is deep down under the abyss,


فلىلس ٱرضون الٱولك

to You belong the worlds below the heavens,

ولىالٱآلخرة وٱولك

to You belong the end and the beginning,

لحمدٱناء و لثٱولك ما ترضى به من

and to You is all thanks, all praise, عماء لنٱكر ولش ٱو

all gratitude, and all bliss as much as it pleases You.

على جبرئيل اللهم صل

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to (Archangel) Gabriel,

مينك على وحيك ا


the trustee on Your revelations, مرك على ا لقويٱو

the firm in conveying Your orders, كراماتك لمطاع في سماواتك ومحال ٱو

the obeyed in Your heavens and the places where Your honoring lies,

ل لكلماتكلمتحمٱ

the bearer of Your Words, نبيائكلناصر الٱ

the supporter of Your Prophets, عدائكر اللمدمٱ

and the terminator of Your enemies. على ميكائيل اللهم صل

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to (Archangel) Michael,


ملك رحمتك

the angel of Your mercy, فتكالمخلوق لرٱو

the one created for (showing) Your kindness,

هل طاعتكلمعين الٱلمستغفر ٱو

and the one seeking forgiveness and assisting the people of obedience to

You. سرافيلعلى إ اللهم صل

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to Seraph,

حامل عرشك

the bearer of Your Throne, ور لصٱوصاحب


the one in charge of the Trumpet (that declares the Resurrection Day),

مركلمنتظر الٱ

the one waiting for Your order, لمشفق من خيفتك ٱلوجل ٱ

and the one apprehensive and fearful of You.

لطاهرين ٱلعرش ٱعلى حملة اللهم صل

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to the pure angels who bear Your Throne,

لكرامٱفرة لس ٱوعلى

upon the scribes; the noble, بين يلط ٱلبررة ٱ

the virtuous, and the immaculate, لكاتبينٱلكرام ٱوعلى ملئكتك


upon Your angels; the virtuous recorders (of the deeds),

لجنانٱئكة وعلى مل

upon the angels of the gardens of Paradise,

يرانلنٱوخزنة

upon the keepers of Hellfire, عوانالٱلموت وٱوملك

and upon the Angel of Death and his assistants.

كراملٱل ولجل ٱيا ذا

O Lord of Majesty and Honor! بينا آدمعلى ا اللهم صل

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to our father Adam:


بديع فطرتك

the foremost of Your creation مته بسجود ملئكتكذي كرلٱ

whom You honored by making Your angels prostrate themselves before

him, تكبحته جنوا

and whom You allowed to dwell in Your Paradise.

نا حواءماعلى اللهم صل

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to our mother Eve:

جسلرٱرة من لمطهٱ

the purified from filth, نس لدٱلمصفاة من ٱ


the cleaned from dirt, نس لٱلة من لمفضٱ

the favorite from among the humankind,

لقدس ٱ دة بين محاللمتردٱ

and the allowed to visit the places of sanctity.

just as You have sent blessings, had mercy, and sent benedictions upon

Abraham and the Household of Abraham.

You are verily worthy of all praise, full of all glory.


عداءلس ٱوصياء والٱعلى صل همالل

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to the Successors, the happy,

لهدىٱة ئمهداء والشٱو

the witnesses, and the leaders to the true guidance.

وتادالٱبدال والٱعلى اللهم صل

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to the Substitutes (whom shall be given the favor of participating in Imam al-

Mahdi’s campaigns), the loftiest personalities,

لعبادٱياح و لسٱو

those observing fasting with devotion, those who ardently serve You,

هادلزٱلمخلصين وٱو


those whom You have chosen, the ascetic servants,

جتهادالٱو لجدٱهل وا

and the people of painstaking and hardworking deeds.

فضل بيته باهل دا واخصص محمٱو صلواتك

(Please do) give Muhammad and his Household exclusively the best of Your

blessings جزل كراماتك وا

and the most abundant of Your favors. ة وسلماي تحيغ روحه وجسده منوبل

(Please do) convey to his soul and body my greetings and compliments


وشرفا وكرما وزده فضل

and give him more favors, honor, and esteem

رف لشٱهل على درجات اغه احتى تبل

so that You will make him attain the most elevated ranks of the honored

ones لمرسلينٱين وبيلنٱمن

from amongst the Prophets, the Messengers,

بينلمقرٱفاضل الٱو

and the virtuous, favorable ones. يت ومن لم على من سم اللهم وصل

سم ا


O Allah, (please) send blessings to those whose names I have mentioned

or I have not نبيائكمن ملئكتك وا

from amongst Your angels, Prophets, هل طاعتكورسلك وا

Messengers, and obedient servants. رواحهملى اليهم وإوصل صلواتي إوا

Convey my invocations of blessings to them and to their souls

خواني فيكجعلهم إٱو

and make them my brethren in You عواني على دعائكوا

and make them help me pray You. ليكستشفع بك إي اناللهم إ


O Allah, I seek Your intercession for me to You,

لى كرمكوبكرمك إ

I seek Your honor in the name of Your honor,

لى جودكوبجودك إ

I seek Your magnanimity in the name of Your magnanimity,

لى رحمتكوبرحمتك إ

and I seek Your mercy in the name of Your mercy

ليك طاعتك إ هلوبا

and in the name of the people of the obedience to You.

حد لك به اما سا للهم بكلٱ لكاسوا


منهم

I thus beseech You, O Allah, in the name of all the things by whose names

those people have besought You, مردودة لة شريفة غير من مسا

including the honorable requests that are never rejected by You

وبما دعوك به من دعوة مجابة غير بةمخي

and all the responded and unfailing prayers that they have asked from You.

ن يا رحيميا الله يا رحم

O Allah! O All-beneficent! O All-merciful!

يا حليم يا كريم يا عظيم


O All-forbearing! O All-generous! O All-great!

يا جليل يا منيل يا جميل

O All-majestic! O Bestower! O All-munificent!

يا كفيل يا وكيل يا مقيل

O Surety! O Dependable! O Rescuer! يا مجير يا خبير

O Protector! O All-aware! يا منير يا مبير

O All-luminous! O Eradicator (of the wrongdoers)!

يا منيع يا مديل يا محيل

O Shielding! O Grantor of victory! O Assuring!


يا كبير يا قدير يا بصير

O All-big! O All-powerful! O All-seer! يا شكور يا بر

O most Ready to appreciate (servitude)! O All-benign!

يا طهر يا طاهر

O Source of purity! O All-pure! قاهر يا ظاهريا

O Omnipotent! O Evident! يا باطن يا ساتر

O Immanent! O Concealer! يا محيط يا مقتدر

O All-encompassing! O All-prevailing! ريا حفيظ يا متجب


O All-guarding! O Invincible! يا قريب يا ودود

O Nigh! O Loving! يا حميد يا مجيد

O All-praised! O full of all glory! يا مبدئ يا معيد يا شهيد

O Originator! O Reproducer! O Witness!

O All-liberal! O All-bountiful! يا منعم يا مفضل

O Source of all bounties! O Doer of favors!

يا قابض يا باسط

O Straitening! O Enlarger!


يا هادي يا مرسل

O Guide! O Sender! د يا مرشد يا مسد

O Director! O Leader (to the truth)! يا معطي يا مانع

O Giver! O Forbidder! يا دافع يا رافع

O Repealer! O Raiser! يا باقي يا واقي

O Eternal! O Guardian! ق يا وهابيا خل

O Accepter of repentance! O Decider!


يا نفاح يا مرتاح

O Donator! O Source of rest! مفتاح بيده كليا من

O He Who has in possessions the clues of all things!

يا نفاع يا رؤوف يا عطوف

O Source of profit! O All-kind! O All-sympathetic!

يا كافي يا شافي

O Securer! O Healer! يا معافي يا مكافي

O Curer! O Awarder! يا مهيمن يا وفي

O Faithful! O Dominant!


يا عزيز يا جبار

O Almighty! O All-potent! ر يا سلم يا مؤمن يا متكب

O Superb! O Giver of peace! O Grantor of security!

حد يا صمديا ا

O Only One! O Besought of all! ريا نور يا مدب

O Light! O Manager (of all affairs)! يا فرد يا وتر

O Single! O Lone! وس يا ناصر يا قد

O Holy! O Giver of victory! يا مؤنس يا باعث يا وارث


O Source of entertainment! O Resurrector! O Inheritor (of all

things)! يا عالم يا حاكم

O All-knowing! O Judge! يا بادي يا متعالي

O Originator! O Exalted! بمتحب م يار يا مسليا مصو

O Maker of visions! O Grantor of safety! O Amiable!

يا قائم يا دائم

O Subsistent! O Everlasting! يا عليم يا حكيم

O Knowing! O Wise! يا جواد يا بارئ


O All-magnanimous! O Maker! ياسار يا بار

O Caring! O Source of pleasure! يا عدل يا فاصل

O Fair! O Distinguisher (between the right and the wrong)!

يا حنان يا منانيا ديان

O Master! O All-munificent! O Favorer!

يا سميع يا بديع

O All-hearer! O best Maker! خفير يا معين يا

O Observer! O Helper! يا ناشر يا غافر

O Extender (of mercy)! O Forgiver!


رسل يا مييا قديم يا مسه

O Eternal! O Alleviator! O Reliever! يا مميت يا محيي

O He Who causes to die! O Grantor of life!

يا نافع يا رازق

O Grantor of benefits! O Provider of sustenance! بيا مقتدر يا مسب

O All-competent! O Creator of causes! يا مغيث يامغني يا مقني

O Aide! O Grantor of wealth! O Giver to hold!

يا خالق يا راصد يا واحد

O Creator! O Onlooker! O One!


يا حاضر يا جابر

O Present! O Mender! شديد ياحافظ يا

O Safeguarding! O Firm (in punishment)!

يا غياث يا عائد يا قابض

O Aid! O Donor! O Straitening! ستعلىٱف يا من عل

O He Who has mounted to the most elevated point,

علىالٱلمنظر ٱفكان ب

He thus occupies the most exalted site! يا من قرب فدنا


O He Who has approached so closely that He has become the nearest of all

things ى وبعد فنا

and, at the same time, He has been so far that He is in the furthest point,

خفىوا رلس ٱوعلم

and He has known the secret and even what is more hidden!

لمقادير ٱدبير وله لتٱليه يا من إ

O He to Whom all management is relegated and to Whom all measures

are referred! لعسير عليه سهل يسيرٱويا من

O He for Whom the most difficult thing is easy and simple!


يا من هو على ما يشاء قدير

O He Who has power to do whatever He wills!

ياحلرٱيا مرسل

O He Who sends forth the wind! لصباحٱيا فالق

O He Who causes the dawn to break! رواح الٱيا باعث

O He Who revives the spirits! ماحلسٱلجود وٱ يا ذا

O Lord of magnanimity and lenience! ما قد فات يا راد

O He Who has the power to restore that which has been missed!


مواتالٱيا ناشر

O He Who resurrects the dead bodies! تات لشٱجامع يا

O He Who draws together the dispersal!

يا رازق من يشاء بغير حساب

O He Who provides sustenance to whomever He wants without measure!

ويا فاعل ما يشاء كيف يشاء

O He Who has power to do whatever He wills however He wills!

لكرامٱلجلل وٱويا ذا

O Lord of Majesty and Honor! وم يا قي يا حي

O Ever-living! O Self-subsistent!


حي اليا حيا حين

O He Who existed when there existed nothing else!

لموتىٱيا محيي يا حي

O Ever-living! O Reviver of the dead! نت إله إال ا ال ياحي

O Ever-living! There is no god save You

رضالٱماوات ولسٱبديع

the excellent Maker of the heavens and the earth.

O my God and my Master, د د وآل محمعلى محم صل


(please do) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of

Muhammad, ددا وآل محمرحم محمٱو

have mercy upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

دد وآل محم وبارك على محم

and send benedictions upon Muhammad and the Household of

Muhammad يت وباركت ورحمت على كما صل

إبراهيم وآل إبراهيم

just as You have sent blessings and benedictions and had mercy upon

Abraham and the household of Abraham.

You are verily worthy of all praise and full of all glory.

ي وفاقتيرحم ذلٱو

Have mercy upon my humiliation, neediness,

نفرادي ووحدتيٱوفقري و

poverty, loneliness, aloneness, وخضوعي بين يديك

humbleness before You, تمادي عليكعٱو

reliance upon You, عي إليك وتضر

and submission to You.


ليل لذٱلخاضع ٱدعوك دعاء ا

I implore You with the imploring of the humble, the subservient,

لخائفٱلخاشع ٱ

the fearful, the scared لبائسٱلمشفق ٱ

the afraid, the miserable, لحقير ٱلمهين ٱ

the modest, the insignificant, لفقيرٱلجائع ٱ

the hungry, the poor, لمستجير ٱلعائذ ٱ

the seeker of Your refuge, the seeker of Your protection,


بذنبه لمقرٱ

the confessing of his sins, لمستغفر منهٱ

the implorer for You to forgive his sin, هلمستكين لربٱ

and the humble to his Lord; سلمته ثقتهدعاء من ا

I implore You with the imploration of one whom has been disappointed by

those whom he trusts, ته حبورفضته ا

rejected by his intimate ones, وعظمت فجيعته

and whose catastrophe has been enormous.


دعاء حرق حزين

I implore You the imploration of one burning, sad, ضعيف مهين

weak, mortified, مستكين بائس

depressed, wretched, بك مستجير

and resorting to Your shelter. مليك كنلك باسااللهم وا

O Allah, I also beseech You in the name of Your being the King,

مر يكونما تشاء من ا كنوا

whatever You will shall definitely take place,


ك على ما تشاء قديرنوا

and You have power over all things. لحرامٱهر لشٱبحرمة هذا لكاسوا

I beseech You in the name of the holiness of this sacred month,

لحرامٱلبيت ٱو

the Sacred House, لحرامٱلبلد ٱو

the Sacred Town, لمقامٱكن ولرٱو

the Rukn (i.e. the corner of the Holy Ka`bah), the Maqam (i.e. the

standing-place of Prophet Abraham), لعظامٱلمشاعر ٱو

the great rituals,


مللسٱد عليه وآله ك محمنبي وبحق

and in the name of Your Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and

his Household. دم شيثايا من وهب آل

O He Who gave Shayth to Adam, براهيم إسماعيل وإسحاق ول

and gave Ishmael and Isaac to Abraham!

يوسف على يعقوب ويا من رد

O He Who returned Joseph to Jacob! وبيا لبلء ضرٱويا من كشف بعد

O He Who relieved Job from his harm after long hardships!

هم اموسى على يا راد


O He Who returned Moses to his mother!

لخضر في علمهٱوزائد

O He Who increased al-Khidhir knowledge!

د سليمان وويا من وهب لداو

O He Who gave Solomon to David, ولزكريا يحيى

gave Jonah to Zachariah, ولمريم عيسى

and gave Jesus to Mary! يا حافظ بنت شعيب

O He Who safeguarded the daughter of Shu`ayb!

موسى ماويا كافل ولد


O He Who cared for the son of the mother of Moses!

دد وآل محم ي على محمن تصلا لكساا

I beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of

Muhammad, هان تغفر لي ذنوبي كلوا

forgive my all sins, وتجيرني من عذابك

save me from Your chastisement, مانكوتوجب لي رضوانك و ا

and confer upon me with Your pleasure and security

وإحسانك وغفرانك وجنانك

and with Your favoring, forgiveness, and gardens of Your Paradise.


حلقة ي كلعن ن تفكا لكساوا

I ask You to redeem me from all circles of misfortune

يؤذينيبيني وبين من

that are drawn around those who intend harm to me and me,

باب وتفتح لي كل

unlock for me all doors, صعب ن لي كلوتلي

make easy for me all hardships, عسير ل لي كلوتسه

alleviate for me all difficult matters, ناطق بشر ي كلخرس عنوت

mute all those who speak ill of me,


باغ ي كلعن وتكف

defend me against all oppressors, لي وحاسد عدو ي كلوتكبت عن

suppress all my enemies and envious ones,

ظالم ي كلوتمنع من

protect me against all unjust ones, عائق يحول بيني وبين وتكفيني كل

حاجتي

and rescue me from all impediments that lie between my needs and me,

ق بيني وبين طاعتك ن يفرويحاول ا

try to take me away from acts of obedience to You,


طني عن عبادتكويثب

and try to frustrate me from serving You.

دينلمتمرٱ لجنٱلجم يا من ا

O He Who has bridled all mutinous jinn,

ياطينلشٱوقهر عتاة

overcome all tyrannical devils, رينلمتجب ٱرقاب ذلوا

mortified the necks of the oppressors, لمستضعفين ٱطين عن لمتسلٱكيد ورد

and deterred all the ruling authorities from harming the enfeebled ones!

لك بقدرتك على ما تشاء ساا


I beseech You in the name of Your power over all things

وتسهيلك لما تشاء كيف تشاء

and Your alleviating whatever You will however You will,

ن تجعل قضاء حاجتي فيما تشاء ا

to grant my requests as You will.

Then, you may prostrate yourself and

try to stick your cheeks to the ground,

saying the following:

اللهم لك سجدت

O Allah, I am prostrating myself before You

وبك آمنت

and I have full faith in You;


ي وفاقتيرحم ذلٱف

so, (please) have mercy upon my humility, neediness,

عيجتهادي وتضرٱو

efforts, meekness, رب ومسكنتي وفقري إليك يا

paucity, and my want to You, O my Lord.

You should try to shed even a single

drop of tear, for this is the signal of

admission.


27th Night of Rajab

This highly blessed night is called

Laylat al-Mab`ath, which stands for the

beginning of the Holy Prophet’s Mission

of propagating the true religion of

Almighty Allah.

Shaykh al-Tusi, in his book of

Misbah al-Mutahajjid, has quoted

Imam Muhammad al-Jawad (as) as

saying, “There is a night in Rajab,

which carries for people fortune that

is more preferable than whatever is

subjected to sunlight. It is the

twenty-seventh night of Rajab. The

next morning was the beginning of

the Holy Prophet’s prophethood.

Verily, one who does acts of worship

at this night will have the reward of


one who has worshipped Almighty

Allah for sixty years.”

It is advisable to perform Ghusl on this

night.


Salaah on 27th Night of Rajab

• After you offer the `Isha' Prayer

and go to sleep, wake up at any

hour before midnight. You may

then offer a prayer of 12 units in

each of which you may recite

Surah al-Fatihah and any

other Surah from al-Mufassal, which begins with Surah

Muhammad (No. 47) up to the

end of the Holy Qur'an. You

should separate each couple of

units with tasleem. After

accomplishing this prayer, you

should recite Surahs al-Fatihah,

al-Falaq, al-Nas, al-Tawhid, al-

Kafirun, al-Qadr, and Ayah al-

Kursi each seven times. After

this, you may say the following


supplicatory prayer:

خذ ولداذي لم يتلٱالحمد لله

All praise be to Allah Who has not taken to Himself a son,

لملكٱولم يكن له شريك في

Who has no partner in the Sovereignty للذٱمن ولم يكن له ولي

nor has He any protecting friend through dependence.

ره تكبيراوكب

And magnify Him with all magnificence.

ك لك بمعاقد عزساي االلهم إن

O Allah, verily I beseech You in the name of the situations of Your Dignity


ركان عرشك على اon the pillars of Your Throne,

حمة من كتابكلرٱومنتهى

in the name of Your utmost mercy in Your Book,

عظمالٱعظم الٱعظم الٱسمك ٱوب

in the name of Your Name—the Greatest, the Greatest, the Greatest,

علىالٱعلى الٱعلى الٱوذكرك

in the name of Your Mention—the Highest, the Highest, the Highest,

لتاماتٱوبكلماتك

and in the name of Your Words the perfect,

د وآلهي على محمن تصلا


to bless Muhammad and his Household

هلهنت ان تفعل بي ما اوا

and do to me that which befits You.

You may then submit your desires.

• Also recite prayer mentioned for the

15th Night of Rajab


Dua to be recited on the Night and

Day of 27th Rajab

In al-Balad al-Amin, al-Kaf`ami has

instructed the following:

Say the following supplicatory prayer

on the Divine Mission Night:

[Sayyid Ibn Tawus has mentioned that

this supplicatory prayer is said on the

Divine Mission Day (i.e. the twenty-

seventh of Rajab).]

عظمالٱي جللتٱلك بساي االلهم إن

O Allah, I beseech You in the name of the Grandest Manifestation

ملمعظٱهر لشٱيلة من للٱذه في ه

at this night in this glorified month م لمكرٱلمرسل ٱو


and in the name of the honored Messenger

د وآلهي على محمن تصلا

to send blessings to Muhammad and his Household,

علم نت به منا ان تغفر لنا ما اوا

and forgive us that which You know better than we do. يا من يعلم وال نعلم

O He Who knows while we do not! ذه ليلتنا هاللهم بارك لنا في

O Allah, (please do) bless us at this night,

لتهاسالة فضلرٱتي بشرف لٱ

which You have exalted with the honor of the Divine Mission,


جللتهاوبكرامتك ا

You have esteemed with Your honoring,

حللتهاريف الشٱ لمحلٱوب

and You have raised to the Honorable Place.

ريف لشٱلمبعث ٱلك باللهم فإنا نسا

O Allah, we thus beseech You in the name of the honorable mission,

طيفلل ٱد يلسٱو

the gentle master, لعفيفٱلعنصر ٱو

and the chaste line د وآلهي على محمن تصلا


to bless Muhammad and his Household

يلةلل ٱعمالنا في هذه ن تجعل اوا

and to decide our deeds at this night يالي مقبولة للٱوفي سائر

as well as all the other nights as acceptable,

وذنوبنا مغفورة

our sins as forgiven, وحسناتنا مشكورة

our good efforts as praiseworthy, ئاتنا مستورةوسي

our evildoings as concealed, لقول مسرورةٱوقلوبنا بحسن


our hearts as pleased with decent wording,

ليسر مدرورةٱرزاقنا من لدنك بوا

and our sustenance that You decide for us as copiously flowing with easiness.

ك ترى وال ترىاللهم إن

O Allah, verily You see [everything] but nothing can see You

علىالٱلمنظر ٱنت بوا

while You are in the Highest Prospect. لمنتهى ٱجعى ولرٱإليك وإن

And, verily, to You are the final return and goal,

لمحياٱلممات وٱلك وإن

to You are causing to death and granting of life,


ولى الٱآلخرة وٱلك وإن

and to You are the Last and the First [of all things].

ونخزى ن نذلاللهم إنا نعوذ بك ا

O Allah, we surely seek Your protection against meeting of disgrace

and shame تي ما عنه تنهىان نوا

and against committing that which You have ordered us not to do.

ة برحمتكلجنٱلك اللهم إنا نسا

O Allah, we surely pray You for Paradise, out of Your mercy,

لنارٱونستعيذ بك من

and we seek Your protection against Hellfire.


عذنا منها بقدرتكفا

So, (please do) save us from it, in the name of Your omnipotence.

لعينٱلحور ٱلك من ونسا

We also pray You for the Paradisiacal Women;

تكرزقنا بعزٱف

so, please grant us them, in the name of Your might.

نارزاقنا عند كبر سنوسع اجعل اٱو

(Please do) cause the most expansive of our sustenance to be given to us

when we become old aged, قتراب آجالناٱعمالنا عند حسن اوا

and the best of our deeds to be at the time close to our death.


طل في طاعتك وا

(Please do) extend [our ages and make us spend them] in acts of obedience to

You ب إليك وما يقر

and in all that which draws us near to You,

ويحظي عندك

in all that which allow us to enjoy a good position with You,

عمارناويزلف لديك ا

and in all that which make our lives acceptable by You.

مورنا احوالنا وحسن في جميع اوا معرفتنا


(Please do) improve our recognition of You under all circumstance and

conditions, حد من خلقك فيمنوال تكلنا إلى ا

علينا

do not refer us to any of Your beings lest they shall always remind us of

their favors to us, نيا ل علينا بجميع حوائجنا للدوتفض

آلخرةٱو

favor us by settling all our needs in this world as well as the Next World,

بنائنابآبائنا وا ابدٱو

and do the same thing to our forefathers, our descendants,


لمؤمنينٱوجميع إخواننا

and all our brethren-in-faith نفسناال لناك جميع ما سافي

with regard to all that which we have besought You for ourselves.

لراحمينٱرحم يا ا

O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!

لعظيمٱسمك ٱلك باللهم إنا نسا

O Allah, we beseech You by Your Grand Name

لقديمٱوملكك

and Your Eternal Kingdom دد وآل محمي على محمن تصلا


to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

لعظيم ٱنب لذٱن تغفر لنا وا

and forgive our grave sins, لعظيم ٱلعظيم إال ٱيغفر اله إن

for none can forgive the grave save the All-great.

ملمكرٱذا رجب اللهم وه

O Allah, this is Rajab, the honored month,

لحرمٱشهر ل اوكرمتنا به اذي الٱ

which You have honored us through it, being the first of the Sacred Months,

ممالٱكرمتنا به من بين ا

and You have selected us for this honor from amongst the other nations.


لكرمٱلجود وٱلحمد يا ذا ٱفلك

So, all praise be to You, O Lord of Magnanimity and Generosity!

سمكٱلك به وبسافا

I thus beseech You by Your Name, عظمالٱعظم الٱعظم الٱ

the grandest, the grandest, the grandest,

كرمالٱ جلالٱ

the most majestic, the most honorable, كفي ظل ستقرٱذي خلقته فلٱ

that You have created so that it has settled under Your Shadow فل يخرج منك إلى غيرك


and it thus shall never transfer to anyone other than You,

هل بيته د واي على محمن تصلا لطاهرين ٱ

I beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and his Household the

immaculate, لعاملين فيه بطاعتك ٱن تجعلنا من وا

and include us, during this month, with those who practice acts of

obedience to You اعتكآلملين فيه لشفٱو

and those who hope for Your admission.

بيل لسٱهدنا إلى سواء ٱاللهم


O Allah, (please do) lead us to the Right Path

جعل مقيلنا عندك خير مقيل ٱو

and choose for us the best resting-place with You,

ظليل في ظل

under a dense shade وملك جزيل

and abundant possession. لوكيل ٱك حسبنا ونعم فإن

Surely, You are Sufficient for us! Most Excellent are You and in You do we

trust! قلبنا مفلحين منجحينٱاللهم

O Allah, (please do) make us return (to You) with success and victory;


ين غير مغضوب علينا وال ضال

neither accursed (by You) nor misleading (the Right Path),

لراحمينٱرحم برحمتك يا ا

out of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!

لك بعزائم مغفرتكساي االلهم إن

O Allah, I earnestly beseech You, in the name of the matters that bring about

Your forgiveness وبواجب رحمتك

and the matters that incumbently achieve Your mercy,

إثم من كللمة لسٱ

to grant me safety from all sins,


بر لغنيمة من كلٱو

gain of all decencies, ة لجنٱلفوز بٱو

attainment of Paradise, لنارٱجاة من لنٱو

and redemption against Hellfire. تكلداعون ودعوٱاللهم دعاك

O Allah, just in as the suppliants have besought You, I am beseeching You.

لتكلسائلون وساٱلك وسا

Just as the implorers have begged You,

I am begging You.

لطالبون وطلبت إليك ٱوطلب إليك

Just as the requesters have asked You, I am asking You.


جاءلر ٱقة ولثٱنت اللهم ا

O Allah, You are (my) trust and hope عاءلدٱغبة في لرٱوإليك منتهى

and You are the ultimate desire in my supplications.

د وآلهمعلى مح اللهم فصل

O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and his Household

ليقين في قلبيٱجعل ٱو

and establish conviction in my hear, ور في بصريلنٱو

light in my sight, صيحة في صدريلنٱو

well-wishing in my chest,


هار على لسانيلنٱيل وللٱوذكرك ب

remembering You on my tongue day and night,

ورزقا واسعا غير ممنون وال محظور رزقنيٱف

and expansive sustenance that is neither failing nor banned. So, please

provide me sustenance ا رزقتنيوبارك لي فيم

and bless that which You decide for me,

جعل غناي في نفسيٱو

make me self-sufficient, ورغبتي فيما عندك

make me desire for none save You,



out of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!

You may then prostrate yourself and

repeat the following litany one hundred

times:

ذي هدانا لمعرفتهلٱالحمد لله

All praise be to Allah Who has guided us to the recognition of Him,

نا بواليته وخص

included us exclusively with the protection of Him,

قنا لطاعته ووف

and granted us the obedience to Him. شكرا شكرا


Thanks, thanks.

When you raise your head (i.e. finish

the prostration), you may say the

following:

ك بحاجتيي قصدتاللهم إن

O Allah, I am turning my face toward You asking for the settlement of my

needs, لتيعتمدت عليك بمساٱو

I depend upon You in submitting my problem,

تي وسادتيئمهت إليك باوتوج

and I submit to You in the name of my Imams and Masters.

همنفعنا بحبٱاللهم


O Allah, benefit us by our love for them,

وردنا موردهموا

make us follow their examples, رزقنا مرافقتهمٱو

grant us their companionship, رتهمة في زملجنٱدخلنا وا

and allow us to enter Paradise with their group,


by Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!


Ziyarah of Imam Ali for Laylat

Maba’th

The Ziyarah of Imam Ali has been

mentioned by Shaykh al-Mufid, Sayyid

Ibn Tawus, and al-Shahid in the

following form:

When you intend to visit the holy

shrine of Imam `Ali Amir al-Mu'minin

(‘a) on the Divine Mission Day or the

night before it, you may stop at the gate

of the holy dome, facing the holy tomb,

and say the following:

لله وحده ال شريك ٱ إله إال ن الشهد اا له


I bear witness that there is no god save Allah, alone without having any

associate. دا عبده ورسوله محم ن شهد اوا

And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger,

لمؤمنين ٱمير بي طالب ابن ا علي نوا خو رسولهلله واٱعبد

that `Ali the son of Abu-Talib, the Commander of the Faithful, is the

brother of His Messenger, لطاهرين من ولده حجج ٱة ئمالٱ نوا

لله على خلقهٱ

that the immaculate Imams from his offspring are Allah’s arguments against

His creatures.


You may then enter the shrine, stop at

the tomb, turn the face toward the tomb

and make the kiblah direction between

your shoulders, and repeat the takbir

statement on hundred times:

Allah is the Most Great.

كبراالله

You may then say the following:

للهٱالسلم عليك يا وارث آدم خليفة Peace be upon you, O inheritor of

Adam the vicegerent of Allah. للهٱالسلم عليك يا وارث نوح صفوة


Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Noah the choice of Allah.

السلم عليك يا وارث إبراهيم خليل للهٱ

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Abraham the intimate friend of Allah.

للهٱالسلم عليك يا وارث موسى كليم Peace be upon you, O inheritor of

Moses the spoken by Allah. للهٱالسلم عليك يا وارث عيسى روح

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Jesus the spirit of Allah. د رسل السلم عليك يا وارث محمد سي

للهٱ


Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Muhammad the chief of Allah’s

Messengers. لمؤمنينٱ ميرالسلم عليك يا ا

Peace be upon you, O commander of the faithful.

قينلمتٱك يا إمام السلم علي Peace be upon you, O epitome of the

pious ones. ينلوصيٱد السلم عليك يا سي

Peace be upon you, O chief of the Prophets’ successors.

رسول رب السلم عليك يا وصيلعالمينٱ

Peace be upon you, O successor of the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds.


لين والٱالسلم عليك يا وارث علم آلخرينٱو

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of the knowledge of the past and the coming

generations. لعظيمٱ ابلنٱها يالسلم عليك ا

Peace be upon you, O Great News. لمستقيم ٱراط لصٱها يالسلم عليك ا

Peace be upon you, O Straight Path. لكريمٱب لمهذٱها يالسلم عليك ا

Peace be upon you, O noble, refined one.

قيلتٱ لوصيٱيها السلم عليك ا Peace be upon you, O pious successor

(of the Prophet).


كيلزٱ ضيلرٱيها السلم عليك ا Peace be upon you, O well-pleased,

pure one. لمضيء ٱلبدر ٱيها السلم عليك ا

Peace be upon you, O shining full moon.

كبرالٱيق دلصٱيها السلم عليك ا Peace be upon you, O grandest

veracious one. عظم الٱلفاروق ٱيها السلم عليك ا

Peace be upon you, O greatest distinguisher (between the right and

the wrong). لمنير ٱراج لسٱيها السلم عليك ا

Peace be upon you, O glowing lantern.


لهدىٱالسلم عليك يا إمام Peace be upon you, O leader to the

true guidance. قىلتٱالسلم عليك يا علم

Peace be upon you, O pattern of piety. لكبرىٱلله ٱة السلم عليك يا حج

Peace be upon you, O grand argument of Allah.

لله وخالصته ٱة السلم عليك يا خاص Peace be upon you, O select and elite

of Allah, ه وصفوته للٱمين وا

trustee and choice of Allah, ته لله وحجٱوباب

door to and argument of Allah,


ه لله وسرٱومعدن حكم source and secret of Allah’s judgment,

لله وخازنهٱوعيبة علم guardian and keeper of Allah’s

knowledge, لله في خلقهٱوسفير

and envoy of Allah among His creatures.

ةللصٱقمت ك ان شهد اا I bear witness that you performed the

prayers, كاةلزٱوآتيت

paid the zakat, لمعروفٱمرت بوا

enjoined the right,


لمنكرٱونهيت عن forbade the wrong,

سوللرٱبعت تٱو followed the Messenger,

وتهتل لكتاب حقٱوتلوت recited the Book as exactly as it must

be recited, للهٱغت عن وبل

conveyed the messages of Allah, للهٱووفيت بعهد

fulfilled your covenant with Allah, للهٱت بك كلمات وتم

the Words of Allah were accomplished by you,


جهاده لله حقٱوجاهدت في strove in Allah’s way in the best

manner, لله عليه ٱصلى ونصحت لله ولرسوله وآله

advised for the sake of Allah and for the sake of His Messenger—peace be

upon him and his Household, وجدت بنفسك صابرا محتسبا

and sacrificed yourself with steadfastness, seeking Allah’s reward,

للهٱن دين مجاهدا ع struggling for the defense of Allah’s

religion, لله عليه وآله ٱلله صلى ٱيا لرسول موق


protecting Allah’s Messenger—peace be upon him and his Household,

للهٱطالبا ما عند seeking for that which is with Allah,

للهٱراغبا فيما وعد and desiring for that which Allah has

promised. ذي كنت عليه شهيداومضيت لل

You also sealed your life as martyr, وشاهدا ومشهودا

a witness, and witnessed; لله عن رسوله ٱفجزاك

so, may Allah reward you هلهم واسللٱوعن


on behalf of His Messenger, Islam, and the people of Islam

لجزاءٱفضل يق امن صد with the most favorite reward, for you

are veracious.

مالقوم إسلٱل ونك كنت اشهد اا I bear witness that you were the first to

embrace Islam, ماناـخلصهم إيوا

the most sincere in faith, هم يقيناشدوا

the most confident, خوفهم للهوا

and you were the most Allah-fearing, عظمهم عناء وا


the most steadfast (against ordeals for the sake of Islam),

لله ٱلله صلى ٱحوطهم على رسول وا عليه وآله

the most watchful for Allah’s Messenger, peace be upon him and his

Household, فضلهم مناقبوا

endowed with the most favorable merits,

كثرهم سوابق وا the foremost of everyone else in

everything, رفعهم درجةوا

the owner of the most elevated rank,


شرفهم منزلةوا the owner of the most honorable

position, كرمهم عليهوا

and the most respected (by Almighty Allah and His Messenger).

ٱفقويت حين وهنو Thus, you became stronger when they

became weak لله ٱلله صلى ٱولزمت منهاج رسول

عليه وآله and you abode by the course of Allah’s Messenger, peace be upon him and his

Household. نك كنت خليفته حقاشهد اوا


I also bear witness that you were the true vicegerent of him (i.e. the Holy

Prophet); لمنافقينٱلم تنازع برغم

no one could ever compete with you in this position in spite of the existence of

hypocrites, لكافرينٱوغيظ

the despise of the unbelievers, لفاسقينٱوضغن

and the malice of the wicked. ٱمر حين فشلوالٱوقمت ب

You also managed the matters when they failed to do so, ٱونطقت حين تتعتعو


you spoke (the truth) when they stammered,

ٱلله إذ وقفوٱومضيت بنور and you carried on with the light of

Allah when they stopped. هتدىٱبعك فقد تٱفمن

Hence, he who follows you has actually been led to the true guidance.

مالهم كلوكنت ا You were the first to speak,

هم خصاماشدوا the firmest in refuting the rivals,

صوبهم منطقاوا the most eloquent of them,

يااهم رسدوا


the most apposite in opinions, شجعهم قلباوا

the most courageous, كثرهم يقيناوا

the most confident of them, حسنهم عمل وا

the best of them in deeds, مورالٱعرفهم بوا

and the most learned in affairs. با رحيماكنت للمؤمنين ا

For the believers, you were merciful father,

عليك عياال ٱإذ صارو and they were thus your dependants;


ٱثقال ما عنه ضعفوفحملت ا so, you carried the burdens that they

were too weak to carry, ٱضاعووحفظت ما ا

preserved that which they forfeited, ٱهملوورعيت ما ا

conserved that which they neglected, ٱنورت إذ جبوشم

prepared yourself for facing that which they were too coward to face,

ٱوعلوت إذ هلعو advanced when they were dismayed,

ٱوصبرت إذ جزعو and acted steadfastly when they

became anxious.


لكافرين عذابا صباٱكنت على You were thus incessant torment on

the unbelievers, وغلظة وغيظا

and you were also rude and furious (on them).

وللمؤمنين غيثا وخصبا وعلماYou rained (with mercy) on the

believers, and you were fertile and source of knowledge for them.

تك لم تفلل حج Your argument was never weak,

ولم يزغ قلبكyour heart never deviated,

ولم تضعف بصيرتك


your sagacity was never feeble, ولم تجبن نفسك

and your determination never cowered.

لعواصفٱكه تحر لجبل الٱكنت ك You were as firm as mountain, since

storms could never displace you لقواصفٱتزيله وال

and misfortunes could never move you.

لله عليه ٱلله صلى ٱنت كما قال رسول ك وآله

You were as exactly as described by Allah’s Messenger—peace be upon him

and his Household—who said about you


قويا في بدنكthat you are strong in your body,

متواضعا في نفسكmodest in yourself,

للهٱعظيما عند great in the view of Allah,

رض الٱكبيرا في imposing in the earth,

ماء لسٱفي جليل and lofty in the heavens.

حد فيك مهمزلم يكن ال None could ever find fault with you,

لقائل فيك مغمز وال none could ever speak evil of you,


وال لخلق فيك مطمعyou never desired for any of the

created beings, حد عندك هوادة وال ال

and you were never lenient (unfairly) to anyone.

دك قويا ليل عنلذٱعيف لضٱيوجد هخذ له بحقاعزيزا حتى ت

The weak, humble one was strong and mighty in your view until you give him

back his right, خذ العزيز عندك ضعيفا حتى تٱ لقويٱو

لحقٱمنه and the strong, mighty one was weak in your view until you take the others’

rights from him.


لك سواءلبعيد عندك في ذٱالقريب و The near and the remote were equal in

your view. فق لرٱدق ولصٱو لحقٱنك اش

Your habit was to be true, honest, and kind,

لك حكم وحتموقو your words were ruling and

determination, مرك حلم وعزموا

your custom was forbearance and fortitude,

يك علم وحزماور and your view was knowledge and

firmness.


ينلدٱعتدل بك إ At your hands, the religion became

even, لعسيرٱوسهل بك

the difficult became easy, يرانلنٱطفئت بك او

the fires were extinguished, مانـيلٱوقوي بك

the faith became strong, مسللٱوثبت بك

Islam became steady, نامالٱت مصيبتك وهد

and the calamity of losing you undermined all people.


فإنا لله وإنا إليه راجعونSurely, we are Allah's and to Him we

shall surely return. لله من قتلك ٱلعن

Curse of Allah be upon him who slew you,

لله من خالفكٱعن ول curse of Allah be upon him who

mutinied against you, فترى عليكٱلله من ٱولعن

curse of Allah be upon him who forged lies against you,

كلله من ظلمك وغصبك حقٱولعن curse of Allah be upon him who

wronged you and usurped your right,


لله من بلغه ذلك فرضي بهٱولعن and curse of Allah be upon him who, when was informed about this, was

pleased with it. لله منهم براءٱإنا إلى

Verily, we disavow all those before Allah.

ة خالفتكم الله ٱلعن Curse of Allah be upon the group that

disagreed with you, يتك وجحدت وال

denied your (Divinely commissioned) leadership,

وتظاهرت عليك وقتلتكaided each other against you, slew you,


وحادت عنك وخذلتكdeviated from you, and disappointed

you. لنار مثواهمٱذي جعل لٱالحمد لله

All praise be to Allah, for Hellfire is the abode of those

لمورودٱلورد ٱوبئس and evil the place to which they are

brought. رسوله صلى لله ووليٱ شهد لك يا وليا

داء الٱغ ولبلٱلله عليه وآله بٱ I bear witness for you, O Intimate

servant of Allah and loyalist of Allah’s Messenger, peace be upon him and his

Household, that you did convey and carry out (your mission).


لله وبابهٱنك حبيب شهد اوا And I bear witness that you are the

beloved of Allah and the door to Him, ذي منه يؤتى لٱلله ووجهه ٱنك جنب وا

you are the Side of Allah and His Face from which one can come to Allah,

للهٱنك سبيل وا you are Allah’s way,

للهٱنك عبد وا you are Allah’s servant,

لله عليه وآلهٱخو رسوله صلى وا and you are the brother of His

Messenger, peace be upon him and his Household.

تيتك زائرا لعظيم حالك ومنزلتك عند ا


لله وعند رسوله ٱ I have thus come to visit you because you enjoy a magnificent position and

standing with Allah and with His Messenger.

بزيارتكلله ٱبا إلى متقر So, I seek nearness to Allah through

my visit to you فاعة لشٱراغبا إليك في

and I desire that you will intercede for me.

ص نفسيبتغي بشفاعتك خل ا Through your intercession for me, I

hope for redemption of myself, لنارٱذا بك من متعو

I seek refuge with you against Hellfire,


حتطبتها على ٱتي لٱهاربا من ذنوبي ظهري

I am fleeing from my sins that I have overburdened myself with them,

يفزعا إليك رجاء رحمة رب and I resort to you in the hope of my

Lord’s mercy. لله ٱي إلى ستشفع بك يا موالتيتك اا

I have come to you, O my master, seeking your intercession for me

before Allah ب بك إليه ليقضي بك حوائجيتقروا

and seeking nearness to Him through you so that He may settle my needs;

لمؤمنينٱمير شفع لي يا اٱف


so, (please) intercede for me, O Commander of the Faithful.

ك وزائركلله وموالٱي عبد فإن Verily, I am the slave of Allah and your

servant and visitor, لمعلومٱلمقام ٱلله ٱولك عند

and you enjoy a distinguished position with Allah,

لعظيم ٱلجاه ٱو a great rank,

لكبير ٱن الشٱو a big standing,

لمقبولة ٱفاعة لشٱو and an admitted right of intercession.

اللهم صل على محمد وآل محمد


O Allah, (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household

of Muhammad وفى الٱمينك على عبدك وا وصل

and send blessings upon Your servant, Your most faithful trustee,

لوثقى ٱوعروتك Your firmest handle,

لعلياٱويدك Your highest Hand,

لحسنى ٱوكلمتك Your excellent Word,

لورىٱتك على وحج Your argument on the people,

كبر الٱيقك وصد


Your grandest veracious one, وصياء الٱد سي

the chief of the Prophets’ successors, ولياء الٱوركن

the reliance of the saints, صفياء الٱوعماد

the support of the elite ones, لمؤمنينٱ ميرا

the commander of the faithful, قين لمتٱويعسوب

the leader of the pious ones, يقيندلصٱوقدوة

the example of the veracious ones, لصالحين ٱوإمام


the pattern of the righteous ones, لل لزٱلمعصوم من ٱ

the one protected against flaws, لخللٱلمفطوم من ٱو

the one saved from defects, لعيب ٱب من لمهذٱو

the one cleared from faults, يبلرٱر من لمطهٱو

the one purified from doubts, خي نبيكا

the brother of Your Prophet, رسولك ووصي

the successor of Your Messenger, فراشه لبائت على ٱو


the one who replaced him when he spent that night instead of him,

لمواسي له بنفسهٱو the one who sacrificed his soul for

him, لكرب عن وجهه ٱوكاشف

the one who always relieved him in harsh situations,

ته فا لنبوذي جعلته سيلٱ and the one whom You chose to be the

sword of his (i.e. the Prophet) Prophethood,

ومعجزا لرسالتهthe miracle of his (Divine) mission,

تهلة واضحة لحج ودال the lucid indication of his arguments,


لرايته وحامل the bearer of his pennon,

ووقاية لمهجته the protector of his soul,

تهموهاديا ال the guide of his nation,

سهاويدا لب the power of his might,

سهاوتاجا لر the crown of his head,

وبابا لنصرهthe door to his victory,

ومفتاحا لظفرهand the key to his triumph,


يدكرك بالش ٱحتى هزم جنود until he defeated the armies of

polytheism by Your aid, مركلكفر باٱباد عساكر وا

terminated the warriors of atheism by Your permission,

وبذل نفسه في مرضاتك ومرضاة رسولك

exerted all efforts to win the pleasure of You and Your Messenger,

وجعلها وقفا على طاعته devoted all of his efforts to the

obedience to him, ومجنا دون نكبته


and made of himself armor to protect him from any misfortune,

لله عليه وآله ٱحتى فاضت نفسه صلى هفي كف

until the soul of the Prophet, peace be upon him and his Household, departed his body while his face was in the hand

of `Ali, ستلب بردهاٱو

who thus felt its coldness, ومسحه على وجهه

and rubbed his face therewith. عانته ملئكتك على غسله وتجهيزهوا

And Your angels helped him bathe and prepare his body for burial.


عليه ووارى شخصهوصلى He then performed [the ritual] prayer

for him, buried his body, وقضى دينه

settled his debts, نجز وعده وا

fulfilled his promises, ولزم عهده

made his covenants, حتذى مثاله ٱو

followed his example, ته حفظ وصيو

and abode by his will. عباء با نصارا نهض مستقلوحين وجد ا


فةلخلٱ When he could find supporters, he

undertook the burdens of the position of leadership (caliphate)

مامةلٱثقال مضطلعا با and assumed the loads of Imamate.

لهدى في عبادكٱفنصب راية He thus hoisted the flag of true guidance among Your servants,

دك من في بلالٱونشر ثوب spread the dress of security in Your

lands, تكلعدل في بريٱوبسط

extended justice among Your creatures,


وحكم بكتابك في خليقتكjudged according to Your Book among

your beings, قام الحدودوا

executed the laws, لجحودٱوقمع

suppressed unbelief, يغلزٱم وقو

rectified the deviation, لغمرة ٱن وسك

mollified the criticism, لفترةٱباد وا

eradicated lethargy, لفرجةٱ وسد


blocked the gap, لمارقةٱلقاسطة وٱلناكثة وٱوقتل

killed the preachers, the wrongdoers, and the apostates, لله صلى ٱولم يزل على منهاج رسول

لله عليه وآله ووتيرتهٱ kept on following the course and

tradition of Allah’s Messenger, peace be upon him and his Household,

ولطف شاكلتهkept on following his excellent pattern,

وجمال سيرتهkept on following his superb practice,

ته مقتديا بسن he imitated his convention,


تهقا بهم متعل held fast to his morale,

مباشرا لطريقتهand copied his way (of treating with

matters). مثلته نصب عينيهوا

And he always noticed the Prophet’s deeds as if they were before his eyes;

يحمل عبادك عليهاhe thus ordered Your servants to copy

these deeds ويدعوهم إليها

and invited them to imitate them سهاخضبت شيبته من دم رن إلى ا


until his white beard was dyed with the blood of his head.

اللهم فكما لم يؤثر في طاعتك شكا على يقين

O Allah, as he never preferred a dubious matter to a certain one for the

sake of obeying You ولم يشرك بك طرفة عين

and never associated any one with You even for a winking of an eye,

ة زاكية نامية صل عليه صل please send upon him growing and

increasing blessings تكة في جن بولنٱيلحق بها درجة

due to which he may join the position of Prophethood in Your Paradise,


ماة وسلغه منا تحيوبل and (please) convey our greetings and

compliments to him ته فضلوآتنا من لدنك في مواال

وإحساناand, on account of our allegiance to his

leadership, please grant us from You favor, kindness, ومغفرة ورضوانا

forgiveness, and pleasure. لجسيمٱلفضل ٱ ك ذوإن

You are verily the Lord of enormous favor.

لراحمينٱرحم برحمتك يا ا [please do that] in the name of Your


mercy, O most merciful of all those who show mercy.

You may then put your right and then

left cheeks on the tomb, turn to the

kiblah direction, offer the Prayer of

Ziyarah, and supplicate for anything you

want.

Then, you may say the (famous) Tasbih

al-Zahra' and then say the following

words:

رتنيك بشاللهم إن

O Allah, You have conveyed to me glad tidings

ك ورسولك على لسان نبيthrough Your Prophet and Messenger

د صلواتك عليه وآلهمحم


Muhammad, Your peace be upon him and his Household,

لهم قدم نا ٱ آمنوذينلٱر وبش»فقلت: «.همصدق عند رب

as You said, “And give good news to those who believe that theirs is a

footing of firmness with their Lord.” نبيائك ي مؤمن بجميع االلهم وإن

عليهمورسلك صلواتك

O Allah, I indeed believe in all Your Prophets and Messengers, Your

blessings be upon them. فل تقفني بعد معرفتهم موقفا

So, (please) do not cause me, after my recognition of them, to be in a

situation


شهادالٱرؤوس تفضحني فيه على due to which You expose me in the

presence of the Witnesses;

صديق لتٱني على بل قفني معهم وتوف بهم

rather, (please) include me with them and make me die while I give them

credence. م بكرامتكنت خصصتهاللهم وا

O Allah, You have also bestowed upon them exclusive honor from You

باعهمتٱمرتني بوا

and You have ordered me to follow them.

ي عبدك وزائركاللهم وإن


O Allah, I am Your slave and visitor, خي رسولكإليك بزيارة ابا متقر

seeking Your nearness through visiting the brother of Your Messenger.

تاه لمن ا ومزور حق تيام وعلى كل وزاره

Indeed, each visited person is expected to pay attention to his duty towards

the one who visits and comes to him. تي انت خير موا

And You are the Best One to Whom one may come

كرم مزوروا

and You are the most Generous One to be visited;


لك يا اللسافا ن يا رحيميا رحم ه

I therefore beseech You, O Allah, O All-beneficent, O All-merciful,

يا جواد يا ماجد

O All-magnanimous, O All-glorious, حد يا صمديا ا

O One, O Besought of all, يا من لم يلد ولم يولد

O He Who never begets nor is He begotten,

دحولم يكن له كفوا ا

and the like of Whom is none, خذ صاحبة وال ولداولم يت

O He Who has not betaken wife or child,


دد وآل محمن تصلي على محما

(I beseech You) to send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of

Muhammad, خا تجعل تحفتك إياي من زيارتي ان وا

رسولك

to choose the gift that You present to me on account of my visiting Your

Messenger’s brother لنارٱفكاك رقبتي من

to be release of me from Hellfire, لخيرات ٱن يسارع في ن تجعلني مموا

to include me with those who strive with one another in hastening to good

deeds


ويدعوك رغبا ورهبا

and those who call on You with love and reverence,

لخاشعينٱوتجعلني لك من and to make me of those who are

humble before You. ي عليبزيارة موال ك مننت علياللهم إن

بي طالببن ا

O Allah, You have indeed conferred upon me with the favor of visiting my

master `Ali the son of Abu-Talib ومعرفتهوواليته

and with the favor of my being loyal to his (Divinely commissioned)

leadership and recognition of him;


ن ينصره وينتصر بهجعلني ممٱف

so, (please) make me of those whom You give victory and whom You choose

to triumph through them. بنصرك لدينك علي ومن

And (please) bestow me with the favor of making me support Your religion.

ني على جعلني من شيعته وتوفٱاللهم و دينه

O Allah, (please) include me with the adherents of him and cause me to die

following his doctrine. ضوانلرٱحمة ولرٱوجب لي من اللهم ا

O Allah, (please) cause me to deserve mercy, pleasure,


حسان لٱلمغفرة وٱو

forgiveness, favor, بيلطٱل لحلٱلواسع ٱزق لرٱو

and sustenance that is growing, legally gotten, and pleasant,

لراحمينٱرحم هله يا انت اما ا

(and make it) suitable to Your favoring, O most merciful of all those

who show mercy! لعالمينٱ لحمد لله ربٱو

All praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds.


27th Day of Rajab

• Take a Ghusl on this day.

• It is recommended to observe

fasting. In fact, this day is one of the

four days that are dedicated to

fasting in the whole year. The

reward of observing fasting on this

day is equal to seventy year fasting.

• Recite Salwaat as frequently as

possible on this day.


Salaah’s for Day of 27th Rajab

• In his book entitled Misbah al-

Mutahajjid, Shaykh al-Tusi

mentions that al-Rayyan ibn al-Salt

is reported as saying that Imam

Muhammad al-Jawad (as) observed

fasting on the fifteenth and the

twenty-seventh of Rajab while he

was in Baghdad.

He then ordered us to offer the prayer

that consists of twelve units at each of

which Surah al-Fatihah and another

Surah should be recited. At the

accomplishment of this prayer, it is

recommended to recite Surahs al-

Fatihah, al-Tawhid, al-Falaq, and al-

Nas each 4 times.

Then it is recommended to say the

following litany four times:


للهٱال إله إال

There is no god save Allah. كبرلله اٱو

Allah is the Most Great, ٱللهوسبحان

all glory be to Allah, لحمد للهٱو

all praise be to Allah, لعظيمٱ لعليٱة إال بٱلله وال حول وال قو

and there is neither might nor power save with Allah, the Most High, the All-

great.

Then, it is recommended to repeat the

following four times:

شرك به شيئااي ال الله الله رب


Allah, Allah is my Lord. I associate none with Him.

Then, it is recommended to say the

following four times, too:

حداي اشرك برباال

I never associate anyone with my Lord.

• Shaykh al-Tusi has also reported

Abu’l-Qasim Husayn ibn Ruh—

may Allah have mercy upon him—

as saying: On this day, you may

offer a prayer consisting of twelve

units at each of which you may

recite Surah al-Fatihah and any

other Surah. After each couple of

units (ie after each tasleem), you

may say the following:


خذ ولداذي لم يتلٱالحمد لله

All praise is due to Allah, Who has not taken a son

لملكٱولم يكن له شريك في

Who has not a partner in the kingdom,

للذٱمن يكن له وليولم

and Who has not a helper to save Him from disgrace;

ره تكبيراوكب

and proclaim His greatness with thorough proclamation.

تيتي في مديا عد

O my Supporter throughout my lifetime!


تيياصاحبي في شد

O my Companion in hardships! ي في نعمتييا ولي

O provider of me with all graces that I enjoy!

يا غياثي في رغبتي

O my Succor in my desires! نجاحي في حاجتي يا

O source of success of my needs! يا حافظي في غيبتي

O my guardian while I am absent! في وحدتي يا كافي

O He Who is sufficient for me when I am alone!


نسي في وحشتيايا

O my entertainment in my loneliness! لساتر عورتيٱنت ا

You alone conceal my faults! لحمدٱفلك

So, all praise be to You. لمقيل عثرتيٱنت وا

You alone overlook my slips. لحمدٱفلك

So, all praise be to You. لمنعش صرعتيٱنت وا

You alone revive my deterioration. لحمدٱفلك

So, all praise be to You.


When you accomplish the prayer, you

should recite Surahs al-Fatihah, al-

Tawhid, al-Falaq, al-Nas, al-Kafirun,

al-Qadr, and Ayah al-Kursi seven

times. You should then repeat the

following seven times:

للهٱإله إال ال

There is no god save Allah; كبرلله اٱو

Allah is the Most Great, ٱللهوسبحان

glory be to Allah, ة إال بٱللهوالحول وال قو

and there is neither might nor power save with Allah.


You should then say the following

seven times:

شرك به شيئاا الي رب الله الله

Allah, Allah is my Lord. I associate none with Him

After that, you may submit your needs.


Dua for Day of 27th Rajab

As is mentioned in Iqbal al-A`mal and

some manuscripts of Misbah al-

Mutahajjid, it is recommended to say the

following supplicatory prayer on this

day:

جاوز لت ٱلعفو وٱمر ب يا من ا

O He Who has ordered us to forgive and overlook

جاوز لتٱلعفو وٱن نفسه وضم

and has taken upon Himself to forgive and overlook!

يا من عفا وتجاوز O He Who did forgive and overlook!

ي وتجاوز يا كريمعف عنا


(Please do) forgive me and overlook (my evildoings), O All-generous!

لبلطٱكدى اللهم وقد ا

O Allah, surely all requests have been rejected,

لمذهبٱلحيلة وٱعيت وا

all means and ways have been inaccessible,

آلمال ٱودرست

all hopes have been eradicated,

جاء إال منكلرٱنقطع ٱو

all expectations have been cut off from everybody save You

شريك لك الوحدك

alone. There is no partner with You.


لمطالب إليك ٱجد سبل ي االلهم إن مشرعة

O Allah, I find the ways to requesting from You wide open,

جاء لديك مترعةلرٱومناهل

the springs of hoping for You quenching,

حةعاء لمن دعاك مفتلدٱبواب وا

the doors of supplication unlocked before one who implores You,

ستعان بك مباحةٱستعانة لمن الٱو

and Your aid available for those who seek it.

وضع إجابةك لداعيك بمنعلم اوا


I also know that You are in the position of response for one who

beseeches You,

وللصارخ إليك بمرصد إغاثة

in the position of relief for one who resorts to You,

مان لض ٱهف إلى جودك ولل ٱفي نوا بعدتك

and hastening to Your magnanimity and reliance upon Your promise

لباخلينٱعوضا من منع

compensate from the stinginess of the misery ones

ثرينالمستٱيدي ومندوحة عما في ا

and suffice from that which is grasped by the mean ones.


تحتجب عن خلقك الك نوا

[I know for sure] that You never screen Yourself against Your beings,

عمال دونكالٱن تحجبهم إال ا

but it is their evildoings that prevent them from journeying toward You.

لراحل إليك ٱفضل زاد ا ناوقد علمت

I have also known for sure that the best provisions of one who intends to

travel to You

يختارك بها عزم إرادة is a true willpower by which one

chooses You from amongst others.

لرادة قلبيٱوقد ناجاك بعزم

Hence, my heart has called at You with full willpower,


غته دعوة دعاك بها راج بل لك بكلساوا مله ا

and I pray You in the name of all supplications said by a hopeful and

thus You have achieved his hope,

غثت صرختهو صارخ إليك اا

said by a seeker of aid and thus You have admitted his request,

جت كربهو ملهوف مكروب فرا

said by an aggrieved, depressed one and thus You have relieved him,

غفرت له و مذنب خاطئا

said by a guilty sinner and thus You have forgiven him,

تممت نعمتك عليها و معافىا


said by a healthy one and thus You have perfected Your favors on him,

هديت غناك إليهو فقير اا

or said by a poor one and thus You have conferred upon him with Your

wealth;

وعندك منزلة عوة عليك حقلد ٱولتلك

so, these supplications occupy a considerable position with You and

enjoy a standing with You,

دد وآل محميت على محمإال صل

I pray You to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of

Muhammad

آلخرةٱنيا ولدٱوقضيت حوائجي حوائج

and grant all my requests for this world and the Next World.


ملمكرٱب لمرجٱذا رجب وه

This is Rajab, the honored and dignified month,

لحرمٱشهر ل اوكرمتنا به اذي الٱ

which You have honored us through it, being the first of the Sacred Months,

ممالٱكرمتنا به من بين ا

and You have selected us for this honor among the other nations.

لكرم ٱلجود وٱيا ذا

O Lord of Magnanimity and Generosity!

عظم الٱعظم الٱسمك ٱلك به وبفنسا عظم الٱ


I thus beseech You by Your Name, the grandest, the grandest, the grandest,

كرمالٱ جلالٱ

the most majestic, the most honorable,

كفي ظل ستقرٱذي خلقته فلٱ

that You have created so that it has settled under Your Shadow

فل يخرج منك إلى غيرك and it thus shall never transfer to

anyone other than You,

هل بيته د وامحمي على ن تصلا لطاهرين ٱ

to send blessings to Muhammad and his Household the immaculate

لعاملين فيه بطاعتك ٱوتجعلنا من


and to include us, during this month, with those who practice acts of

obedience to You

فيه بشفاعتكآلملين ٱو

and those who hope for Your admission.

بيللسٱهدنا إلى سواء ٱاللهم و

O Allah, (please do) lead us to the Right Path,

جعل مقيلنا عندك خير مقيل في ظلٱو ظليل

choose for us the best resting-place with You, under a dense shade

لوكيل ٱك حسبنا ونعم فإن


and abundant possession. Surely, You are Sufficient for us! Most Excellent

are You, and in You do we trust!

لمصطفينٱلم على عباده لسٱو

Peace be upon His servants, the chosen,

جمعينوصلواته عليهم ا

and His blessings be upon them all.

ذي لٱاللهم وبارك لنا في يومنا هذا لتهفض

O Allah, (please do) bless us on this day that You have honored,

ه لتوبكرامتك جل

covered with Your nobility,

نزلتهعلى االٱلعظيم ٱلمنزل ٱوب


and implanted in the great and highest Dwelling.

رسلتهعلى من فيه إلى عبادك ا صل

(Please do) send blessings to him whom You sent (as Your Messenger) to

Your servants

حللتهلكريم اٱ لمحلٱوب

and whom You accommodated in the Noble Place.

عليه صلة دائمة تكون لك اللهم صل شكرا

O Allah, send upon him blessing that is never-ending, being in the form of

thanks to You

ولنا ذخرا

and reward to us.


مرنا يسراجعل لنا من اٱو

And make easy for us all our affairs

عادة إلى منتهى آجالنالسٱختم لنا بٱو

and make our end result, up to the last of our lives, pleasant

عمالنار من اليسيٱوقد قبلت

after You accept our little deed

فضل آمالناغتنا برحمتك اوبل

and achieve for us all our hopes out of Your mercy.

شيء قدير ك على كلإن

Verily, You have power over all things.

م د وآله وسلعلى محملله ٱوصلى

May Allah bless and exalt Muhammad and his Household.


It is worth mentioning that this

supplicatory prayer, which is one of the

excellent supplications of Rajab, was

said by Imam Musa ibn Ja`far al-Kadhim

(as) on the day when the ruling

authorities took him to Baghdad. That

day was the twenty-seventh of Rajab.

Peace be upon you, O son of the chief of the Messengers.

ينصيولٱد بن سي السلم عليك يا

Peace be upon you, O son of the chief of the Prophets’ successors.

للهٱ با عبدالسلم عليك يا ا

Peace be upon you, O Aba-`Abdullah.


بن علي السلم عليك يا حسين

Peace be upon you, O al-Husayn the son of `Ali.

دة نساء بن فاطمة سي السلم عليك ياعالمينلٱ

Peace be upon you, O son of Fatimah the Doyenne of the women of the

world. ه بن وليٱلله وٱ السلم عليك يا ولي

Peace be upon you, O saint of Allah and son of His saint.

هبن صفيٱلله وٱ السلم عليك يا صفي

Peace be upon you, O select of Allah and son of His select.

تهبن حجٱلله وٱة السلم عليك يا حج


Peace be upon you, O argument of Allah and son of His argument.

بن حبيبهٱلله وٱالسلم عليك يا حبيب

Peace be upon you, O beloved by Allah and son of the beloved by Him.

بن سفيره ٱلله وٱالسلم عليك يا سفير

Peace be upon you, O representative of Allah and son of His representative.

مسطور لٱلكتاب ٱالسلم عليك يا خازن

Peace be upon you, O keeper of the inscribed Scripture.

نجيل لٱوراة ولتٱالسلم عليك يا وارث بور لزٱو

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Psalms.


نحملرٱمين السلم عليك يا ا

Peace be upon you, O trustee of the All-beneficent God.

لقرآنٱالسلم عليك يا شريك

Peace be upon you, O partner of the Qur'an.

ينلدٱالسلم عليك يا عمود

Peace be upon you, O support of the religion.

السلم عليك يا باب حكمة ربعالمينلٱ

Peace be upon you, O door to the wisdom of the Lord of the worlds.

ذي من لٱة السلم عليك يا باب حطآلمنينٱدخله كان من


Peace be upon you, O door of Forgiveness; he who enters from this

door will be of the secured ones. للهٱالسلم عليك يا عيبة علم

Peace be upon you, O case of Allah’s knowledge.

للهٱ السلم عليك يا موضع سر

Peace be upon you, O place of Allah’s secret. بن ثاره ٱلله وٱالسلم عليك يا ثار

موتور لٱوتر لٱو

Peace be upon you, O (the object of) Allah’s vengeance and the violated

sanctity. ت تي حللٱرواح الٱالسلم عليك وعلى


ناخت برحلكابفنائك و

Peace be upon you and upon the souls that resided in your yard and settled

down near your caravan. للهٱ با عبدي ونفسي يا امانت وبي ابا

May Allah accept my father, my mother, and myself as ransoms for

you, O Aba-`Abdullah. ة بك زيلرٱت مصيبة وجللٱلقد عظمت

مسللٱهل اعلينا وعلى جميع

O Aba-`Abdullah, unbearable is the sorrow and never-racking is the agony

you put up with, for us and for all (true) Muslims.

لم لظٱساس ست اسة امالله ٱفلعن هل البيت جور عليكم الٱو


Curse of Allah be on the people who laid the basis of wronging and injustice

against you the Household of the Prophet.

ة دفعتكم عن مقامكممالله ٱولعن

Curse of Allah be upon the people who removed you from your position

لله ٱبكم تي رتلٱزالتكم عن مراتبكم وا فيها

and took you away from your actual ranks that Allah has chosen for you.

للهٱ با عبدي ونفسي يا امانت وبي ابا

May Allah accept my father, my mother, and me as ransoms for you, O

Aba-`Abdullah. ة ظلت لدمائكم اقشعرٱشهد لقد ا


خلئق لٱة ظللعرش مع اٱ

I bear witness that the shades of the Divine Throne shared the shades of the

creatures in shuddering for the shedding of your blood.

جنان لٱرض وسكان الٱماء ولسٱوبكتكم بحرل ٱو برلٱو

The heavens, the earth, and the inhabitants of the gardens of Paradise,

the lands, and the oceans—all those wept for you.

لله ٱلله عليك عدد ما في علم ٱصلى

May Allah shower upon you blessings as many as the number of what is there

in the knowledge of Allah. للهٱيك داعي لب


Here I am at your service, O caller to Allah.

ستغاثتك ٱإن كان لم يجبك بدني عند ستنصاركٱولساني عند

If my body could not respond to your call when you called for aid and my

tongue could not respond to your call for help,

ريجابك قلبي وسمعي وبصفقد ا

then my heart, my hearing, and my sight have verily responded to you.

نا لمفعوالنا إن كان وعد ربسبحان رب Glory be to our Lord! Most surely, the

promise of our Lord was to be fulfilled. ر من طهر مطهك طهر طاهر ن شهد اا


رطاهر مطه

I bear witness that you are pure, immaculate, and purified and you are the offspring of the pure, immaculate,

and purified ones. دبللٱطهرت وطهرت بك

You are indeed pure and you are the reason for the purity of the lands.

نت بها وطهر حرمكرض اوطهرت ا

Pure is the land where you are and pure is your holy shrine.

عدل لٱقسط ولٱمرت بك قد ان شهد اا ودعوت إليهما

I bear witness that you enjoined justice and fairness and you called to them.


يق صدقت فيما دعوت ك صادق صدنوا إليه

And you are verily honest and veracious, and you were truthful in

that for which you called. رضالٱلله في ٱك ثار نوا

And you are verily (the object of) Allah’s vengeance on the earth.

للهٱغت عن ك قد بلنشهد اوا

And I bear witness that you did convey on behalf of Allah,

للهٱك رسول وعن جد

on behalf of your grandfather the Messenger of Allah,

مؤمنينلٱ ميربيك اوعن ا


on behalf of your father the Commander of the Faithful,

حسنلٱخيك وعن ا

and on behalf of your brother al-Hasan.

للهٱونصحت وجاهدت في سبيل

And you advised and strove in the way of Allah

يقينل ٱتاك مخلصا حتى اوعبدته

and you served Him sincerely until death came upon you.

لسابقينٱلله خير جزاء ٱفجزاك

So, may Allah award you with the best of the rewarding of the foremost (to

deeds of goodness). م تسليمايك وسللله علٱوصلى


And may Allah bless and exalt you thoroughly.

د وصلد وآل محمعلى محم اللهم صلمظلوملٱحسين لٱعلى

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of

Muhammad, and send blessings upon al-Husayn the wronged,

شيدلرٱهيد لشٱ

the martyr, the orthodox, عبراتلٱقتيل

the slain one whom is wept heavily, كرباتلٱسير وا

and the object of agonies صلة نامية زاكية مباركة


with such blessings that are increasing, growing, and sacred;

ينفد آخرها لها والويصعد ا

the first of which ascends and the last of which is infinite,

والد حد من اى ايت علفضل ما صلامرسلينلٱنبيائك ا

and with the best blessings that You ever sent on any of Your missioned

Prophets’ sons. عالمينلٱيا إله

O God of the worlds!

Ziyarah of Ali ibn Hussain

بيلطٱيق دلصٱها يالسلم عليك ا

Peace be upon you, O veracious, pure,


بمقرلٱحبيب لٱ كيلزٱ

immaculate, dear, favorite, للهٱبن ريحانة رسول ٱو

and son of the basil of Allah’s Messenger.

السلم عليك من شهيد محتسب

Peace be upon you as you are steadfast martyr.

لله وبركاتهٱورحمة

Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you.

شرف منقلبككرم مقامك واما ا

How noble your position is and how honorable your seat is.

سعيك لله ٱشهد لقد شكر ا


I bear witness that Allah thanked you for your efforts,

جزل ثوابكوا

magnified your rewards, عاليةلٱروة لذٱلحقك بوا

and joined you to the exalted summit رفلشٱ رف كللشٱحيث

where there is the entire honor لساميةٱغرف لٱوفي

in the elevated chambers. هل عليك من قبل وجعلك من ا كما من

لبيت ٱ

Similarly, He had bestowed upon you and made you one of the members of

the Household of the Prophet


جس لرٱلله عنهم ٱذهب ذين الٱ رهم تطهيراوطه

from whom Allah removed filth and whom He purified with thorough

purification. لله وبركاته ٱلله عليك ورحمة ٱصلوات

ورضوانه

Allah’s blessings, mercy, benedictions, and pleasure be upon you.

كلطاهر إلى ربٱد يلسٱها يشفع اٱف

So, O pure master, (please) intercede for me with your Lord

ثقال عن ظهري وتخفيفها الٱ في حط يعن


so that He may unburden and relieve me from the loads (of sins) that I carry

on my back. بيك د ايي وخضوعي لك وللسرحم ذلٱو

لله عليكماٱصلى

And (please) have mercy upon my humbleness and submission to you and to the master, your father. May Allah

You may then throw yourself on the

tomb and say the following words:

آلخرةٱلله في شرفكم في ٱزاد

May Allah increase your honor in the Hereafter

نيالدٱفكم في كما شر

in the same way as He honored you in this world


سعد بكمسعدكم كما اوا

and may He bless you in the same way as He blessed others on account of

you. ينلدٱم علكم انشهد اوا

And I bear witness that you are the signposts of the religion

عالمينلٱونجوم

and the stars of the worlds. لله وبركاتهٱلسلم عليكم ورحمة ٱو

Peace and Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you.

للهٱنصار السلم عليكم يا ا

Peace be upon you all, O supporters of Allah


رسوله نصار وا

supporters of His Messenger, بي طالببن ا نصار عليوا

supporters of `Ali the son of Aba-±alib نصار فاطمةوا

supporters of Fatimah, حسين ل ٱحسن ول ٱنصار وا

supporters of al-Hasan and al-Husayn, م سلل ٱنصار وا

and supporters of Islam. كم لقد نصحتم للهنشهد اا

I bear witness that you indeed did sincerely for the sake of Allah

وجاهدتم في سبيله


and strove sincerely in His way. فضل هله اام وسللٱلله عن ٱفجزاكم

جزاء لٱ

So, may Allah reward you on behalf of Islam and its people with the best of

rewarding. ه فوزا عظيماللٱفزتم و

By Allah I swear, you did win a great success. عظيمافوز فوزا يا ليتني كنت معكم فا

I whish I were with you so that I would win a great success.

كم ترزقونحياء عند ربكم انشهد اا

I bear witness that you are alive with your Lord, receiving sustenance.


عداءلسٱهداء ولشٱكم نشهد اا

I bear witness that you are the true martyrs and the true happy ones

علىلٱفائزون في درجات لٱكم نوا

and you are the winners in the most elevated ranks.

لله وبركاتهٱلسلم عليكم ورحمة ٱو

Peace be upon you all, O best of Allah’s creatures.

لساداتٱالسلم عليكم يا سادة

Peace be upon you all, O masters of all masters.

Peace be upon you all, O lions of jungles.

Peace be upon you all, O arks of redemption.

Peace be upon you, O son of Khadijah the grand lady.

هيد لشٱبن ٱالسلم عليك يا شهيد

Peace be upon you, O martyr and son of the martyr. قتيل لٱبن ٱالسلم عليك يا قتيل

Peace be upon you, O slain and son of the slain.

ه بن وليٱلله وٱ السلم عليك يا ولي

Peace be upon you, O saint and son of the saint.

ته بن حجٱلله وٱة السلم عليك يا حج على خلقه

Peace be upon you, O argument of Allah and son of His argument against

His creatures.


ة للصٱقمت ك قد ان شهد اا

I bear witness that you performed the prayers,

كاةلزٱوآتيت

gave the poor-rate, معروفلٱمرت بوا

enjoined the right, منكرلٱونهيت عن

forbade the wrong, ورزئت بوالديك

were deprived of your parents, ك وجاهدت عدو

and strove against your enemies. ملكلٱك تسمع نشهد اوا


I also bear witness that you can now hear the speech

جوابلٱ وترد

and answer back لله وخليله ونجيبهٱك حبيب نوا

and you are verily the beloved of Allah, His intimate friend, His selected

servant, هبن صفيٱه ووصفي

His elite, and son of His elite. ي بن موالٱي و يا موال

O my master and son of my master, زرتك مشتاقا

I am visiting you because of my eagerness to you;


ديلله يا سي ٱفكن لي شفيعا إلى

so, (please) my master, be my interceder before Allah.

ين بيلنٱد ك سيستشفع إلى الله بجدوا

I also seek the intercession of your grandfather the chief of the Prophets

before Allah, ينوصيلٱد بيك سيباو

I seek the intercession of your father the chief of the Prophets’ Successors,

عالمينلٱدة نساء ك فاطمة سيماوب

and I seek the intercession of your mother the Doyenne of the women of

the worlds. لله قاتليك ٱلعن الا

May Allah curse those who slew you.


لله ظالميكٱولعن

May Allah curse those who wronged you.

لله سالبيك ومبغضيك من ٱولعن آلخرينٱلين ووالٱ

May Allah curse those who deprived you (of your right) and those who hated you from the past and the

coming generations. د وآله دنا محملله على سيٱوصلى

لطاهرينٱبين يلطٱ

May Allah send blessings upon our chief Muhammad and upon his

Household the immaculate and pure.

يبن موالٱي والسلم عليك يا موال

Peace be upon you, O my master and son of my master.

لله قاتليكٱلعن

May Allah curse those who slew you. لله ظالميكٱولعن

May Allah curse those who wronged you.

تكملله بزيارتكم وبمحبٱب إلى تقري اإن

Verily, I seek nearness to Allah through my visit to you and my

showing love for you all. عدائكملله من اٱإلى ابروا

I release myself before Allah from your enemies.


لله ٱلسلم عليك يا موالي ورحمة ٱو وبركاته

Peace and Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you, O my master.

بي منيخة بقبر الٱرواح الٱالسلم على حسين لٱلله ٱ عبد

Peace be upon the souls that are residing near the tomb of Aba-

`Abdullah al-husayn. نسلدٱالسلم عليكم يا طاهرين من

Peace be upon you all, O purified from filth.

ونالسلم عليكم يا مهدي


Peace be upon you all, O well-guided ones.

للهٱبرار السلم عليكم يا ا

Peace be upon you all, O pious to Allah. ين حافلٱملئكة لٱالسلم عليكم وعلى جمعينبقبوركم ا

Peace be upon you and upon the angels surrounding all your graves.

رحمته لله وإياكم في مستقرٱمعنا جMay Allah gather us with you in the

center of His mercy لراحمينٱرحم ه اوتحت عرشه إن

and under His Throne. Verily, He is the most merciful of all those who

show mercy.

O Allah! In The same way as You made Him as the protector of Your beings and the Trustee of Your tolerance

And the translator of Your messages,

اللهم كما جعلته علما لعبادك

يها ٱلزاهد ٱلتقياالسلم عليك ا

Peace be upon you, O ascetic and pious.

يها ٱلحجة على ٱلخلق االسلم عليك اجمعيناا

Peace be upon you, O decisive argument against all creatures.


يها ٱلتالي للقرآناالسلم عليك ا

Peace be upon you, O succeeding of the Qur'an.

يها ٱلمبين للحلل من االسلم عليك ا ٱلحرام

Peace be upon you, O distinguishing between the lawful and the unlawful.

يها ٱلولي ٱلناصحالسلم عليك اا

Peace be upon you, O sincere saint.

يها ٱلطريق ٱلواضحاالسلم عليك ا

Peace be upon you, O evident course.

يها ٱلنجم ٱللئحاالسلم عليك ا


Peace be upon you, O bright star.

با ٱلحسناشهد يا موالي يا ااا

I bear witness, O my master Abul-Hasan,

نك حجة ٱلله على خلقهاا

that you are verily the decisive argument of Allah against His

creatures,

وخليفته في بريته

His representative among His created beings,

مينه في بلدهاوا

His trusted administrator in His lands,


وشاهده على عباده

and His witness over His servants.

نك كلمة ٱلتقوىاشهد ااوا

I also bear witness that you are verily the word of piety,

وباب ٱلهدى

the door to true guidance,

وٱلعروة ٱلوثقى

the Firmest Handle,

رضاوٱلحجة على من فوق ٱال

and the evident proof against those who are on the earth


ومن تحت ٱلثرى

and those who are beneath the layers of the soil.

نك ٱلمطهر من ٱلذنوباشهد ااوا

I bear witness that you are purified from sins,

ٱلمبرا من ٱلعيوب

cleaned against defects,

وٱلمختص بكرامة ٱلله

bestowed with the honor of Allah,

و بحجة ٱللهوٱلمحب

endued with the proof of Allah,


وٱلموهوب له كلمة ٱلله

granted the Word of Allah,

وٱلركن ٱلذي يلجا ليه ٱلعباد إ

and the stronghold to whom the servants (of Allah) resort

ٱلبلدوتحيى به

and by whom the lands are revived.

شهد يا موالياوا

I bear witness, O my master,

بنائك موقن مقراني بك وبآبائك وااا


that I have faith in and I submit to you, your forefathers and your

sons,

نفسي ولكم تابع في ذات

I follow all of you in my personal affairs,

وشرايع ديني

in my religious performance,

وخاتمة عملي

in the seals of my deed,

ومنقلبي ومثواي

and in my return and final place.


ني ولي لمن واالكماوا

I do show loyalty to your loyalists,

وعدو لمن عاداكم

I show enmity towards your enemies,

مؤمن بسركم وعلنيتكم

I believe in all of the invisible and the visible,

ولكم وآخركماوا

and the first and the last of you.

وامينت ابي اابا

May Allah accept my father and mother as ransoms for you.


وٱلسلم عليك ورحمة ٱلله وبركاته

Peace and Allahs mercy and blessings be upon you.


Ziyarah of Imam Mohammed Jawad

للهٱالسلم عليك يا ولي Peace be upon you, O intimate servant

of Allah. للهٱالسلم عليك يا حجة

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s argument.

لله في ظلمات ٱالسلم عليك يا نور رضالٱ

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s light in the darkness of the earth. للهٱالسلم عليك يا بن رسول

Peace be upon you, O son of Allah’s Messenger.


السلم عليك وعلى آبائكPeace be upon you and upon your

fathers. كبنائالسلم عليك وعلى ا

Peace be upon you and upon your descendants.

وليائكالسلم عليك وعلى اPeace be upon you and upon your

loyalists. لصلةٱقمت نك قد اشهد اا

I bear witness that you performed the prayers,

كاةلزٱوآتيت defrayed the poor-rate,

لمعروفٱمرت بوا


enjoined the right, لمنكرٱونهيت عن

forbade the wrong, لكتاب حق تلوتهٱوتلوت

recited the Book as it should be recited,

لله حق جهادهٱوجاهدت في strove for Allah as exactly as striving

should be, ى في جنبهذالٱوصبرت على

and endured harm for His sake ليقينٱتاك حتى ا

until death came upon you. تيتك زائراا

I have come to you, visiting you,


بحقك عارفاrecognizing your right,

وليائكمواليا الdeclaring loyalty to your loyalists,

عدائكمعاديا الand incurring the animosity of your

enemies; شفع لي عند ربكٱف

so, (please) intercede for me with Your Lord.


Ziyarat Ameenullah

Ziyarah of Ameenullah is highly

esteemed as is cited in all books of

Ziyarah. In the words of Àllamah al-

Majlisi, this form is the best in text and

chain of authority. It is recommended

to say it at all of the holy shrines. It is

narrated on the authority of Jabir (ibn

Àbdullah al-Ansari) on the authority

of Imam al-Baqir (‘a) that Imam Zayn

al-Abidin (‘a), once, visited the holy

tomb of Imam Àli (‘a). He stood at the

tomb, wept, and pronounced the

following words:

رضه في اللهٱين مالسلم عليك يا اPeace be upon you, O trustee of Allah

on His lands


وحجته على عبادهand argument of Allah against His

servants. لمؤمنينٱير مالسلم عليك يا ا

Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful.

لله حق جهاده ٱنك جاهدت في شهد ااI bear witness that you strove for the sake of Allah as it ought to be striven,

وعملت بكتابهacted upon His Book,

تبعت سنن نبيهٱوand followed the instructions of His

Prophet, ه عليه وآله للٱصلى


peace of Allah be upon him and his Household,

ى جوارهلله إلٱ حتى دعاكuntil Allah called you to be in His

vicinity. ختيارهٱفقبضك إليه ب

So, He grasped you to Him by His will ةلحجٱعدائك لزم اوا

and put your enemies under the claim يع لبالغة على جمٱلحجج ٱلك من مع ما

خلقهalthough you have inclusive claims

against all of His creatures. مطمئنة بقدرك يجعل نفسٱاللهم ف


O Allah, (please do) cause my soul to be fully tranquil with Your decrees,

ئكاراضية بقضsatisfied with Your acts,

ئكامولعة بذكرك ودعfond of mentioning and praying to

You, ئكاوليا محبة لصفوة

bearing love for the choicest of Your intimate servants,

ئكارضك وسممحبوبة في اbeloved in Your lands and heavens,

صابرة على نزول بلئك steadfast against the affliction of Your

tribulations,


ئكاشاكرة لفواضل نعمthankful for Your graceful bounties,

وابغ آالئك ذاكرة لسalways bearing in mind Your incessant

gifts, ئكاى فرحة لقمشتاقة إل

longing for the gladness of meeting You,

ليوم جزائك ىلتقوٱمتزودة supplied with piety for the day of Your

rewarding, ئكاوليا مستنة بسنن

pursuing the morals of Your intimate servants,

عدائكخلق امفارقة ال


quitting the conducts of Your enemies, لدنيا بحمدك وثنائكٱمشغولة عن

and distracted from this world by praising and thanking You.

The Imam (as) then put his cheek on

the tomb and said:

ين إليك والهةخبتاللهم إن قلوب المO Allah, the hearts of those humbling

themselves to You are fascinated, شارعةين إليك اغبلرٱوسبل

the paths of those desiring for You are open,

ين إليك واضحةلقاصدٱعلم واthe sings of those directing to You are

evident,


ين منك فازعةلعارفٱفئدة واthe hearts of those having recognition

of You are resorting to You, ين إليك صاعدة اعلدٱصوات وا

the voices of those beseeching You are mounting up to You,

لجابة لهم مفتحةٱبواب واthe doors of responding to them are

wide open, ودعوة من ناجاك مستجابة

the prayer of him who speaks to You confidentially is responded,

ناب إليك مقبولة وتوبة من اthe repentance of him who turns to

You modestly is admitted,


ى من خوفك مرحومةوعبرة من بكthe tear of him who weeps on account of fear from You is compassionated,

بك موجودة ستغاثٱ لمن لغاثهٱوthe aid of him who seeks Your aid is

available, ستعان بك مبذولةٱلعانة لمن ٱو

the help of him who seeks Your help is obtainable,

لعبادك منجزةوعداتك Your promises to Your servants are

fulfilled, ستقالك مقالةٱوزلل من

the slips of him who implore You to excuse him are forgivable,


ين لديك محفوظةلعاملٱعمال واthe deeds of those who act for You are

preserved, لخلئق من لدنك نازلةٱرزاقك إلى وا

Your sustenance to the creatures are descending from You,

يد إليهم واصلةلمزٱئد اوعوYour gifts for further conferrals are

reaching them, فورة ين مغلمستغفرٱوذنوب

the sins of those imploring Your forgiveness are forgiven,

ئج خلقك عندك مقضيةاوحوthe requests of Your creatures are

granted by You,


ين عندك موفرةلسائلٱئز اوجوthe prizes of those begging You are

offered, يد متواترةلمزٱئد اوعو

Your gifts for further conferrals are uninterrupted,

ين معدة لمستطعمٱئد ٱوموthe dining tables for those seeking

Your feeding are prepared, ء مترعةالظمٱ ومناهل

and the springs of quenching their thirst are brimful.

يئاستجب دعٱاللهم فO Allah, (so) respond to my prayer,

يقبل ثنائٱو


accept my thanksgiving for You, يئاوليوبين ا يجمع بينٱو

and join me to my masters, يوعل بحق محمد

[I beseech You] in the name of Muhammad, `Ali,

لحسين ٱلحسن وٱوفاطمة وFatimah, al-Hasan, and al-Husayn.

يئا نعميإنك ولYou are verily the only source of my

boons, يى مناومنته

the ultimate goal of my wishes, يومثوا يفي منقلب يوغاية رجائ

and the target of my hope in my


recourses and settlement

In the book of Kamil al-Ziyarat, the

following statements are added to this

form of Ziyarah:

يوموال يي وسيدهنت إلاYou are verily my God, Master, and

Lord. ئنااولي غفر الٱ

(Please) forgive our friend, عدائناا اوكف عن

prevent our enemies against us, ذانالهم عن اشغوا

distract them from harming us, لحقٱظهر كلمة وا

give prevalence to the Word of Truth


لعلياٱجعلها ٱوand make it the supreme,

لباطلٱدحض كلمة واand frustrate the word of falsehood

ى لسفلٱجعلها ٱوand make it the lowliest.

يرقد إنك على كل شىءVerily, You have power over all things.

Imam al-Baqir (‘a) then added,

“Indeed, any one of our adherents

(Shi`ah) who pronounces these words at

the tomb of Amir al-Mu'minin (‘a) or the

tomb of one of the Imams (‘a) shall

certainly have his prayer lifted up on a

ladder of light, carrying the seal of the


Holy Prophet’s ring, and it shall be kept

so until it will be delivered to the Riser

from Muhammad’s Household (namely,

Imam al-Mahdi) who will receive the

sayer of that prayer with good tidings,

greetings, and honor.”


Ziyarah of Lady Zainab (sa)


Ziyarah Imam Musa Kadhim

بن وليه ٱلله وٱالسلم عليك يا ولي Peace be upon you, O Allah’s intimate

servant and son of His intimate servant. بن حجتهٱلله وٱالسلم عليك يا حجة

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s argument and son of His argument.

بن صفيهٱلله وٱالسلم عليك يا صفي Peace be upon you, O Allah’s choice

and son of His choice. مينه بن اٱلله وٱمين السلم عليك يا ا

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s trustee and son of His trustee.

لله في ظلمات ٱالسلم عليك يا نور


رضالٱ Peace be upon you, O Allah’s light in

the darkness of the earth. لهدىٱمام السلم عليك يا إ

Peace be upon you, O leader to the true guidance.

ى لتقٱلدين و ٱعليك يا علم السلم Peace be upon you, O signpost of

religiousness and piety.

ين لنبيٱالسلم عليك يا خازن علم Peace be upon you, O hoarder of the

knowledge of the Prophets. لمرسلينٱالسلم عليك يا خازن علم

Peace be upon you, O hoarder of the knowledge of the Messengers.


وصياء الٱالسلم عليك يا نائب ين لسابقٱ

Peace be upon you, O deputy of the preceding Successors (of the

Prophets). ين لمبٱلوحي ٱالسلم عليك يا معدن

Peace be upon you, O essence of the manifest Revelation.

ينليقٱلعلم ٱالسلم عليك يا صاحب Peace be upon you, O holder of the

certain knowledge. لمرسلينٱلم السلم عليك يا عيبة ع

Peace be upon you, O case of the knowledge of the Messengers.

الحلصٱلمام ٱيها السلم عليك ا


Peace be upon you, O righteous leader. اهدلزٱلمام ٱيها السلم عليك ا

Peace be upon you, O ascetic leader. لعابدٱلمام ٱيها السلم عليك ا

Peace be upon you, O oft-worshipping leader.

يدلرشٱلسيد ٱلمام ٱيها السلم عليك ا Peace be upon you, O prudent leader

and chief. لشهيد ٱقتول لمٱيها السلم عليك ا

Peace be upon you, O slain and martyred.

بن ٱلله وٱالسلم عليك يا بن رسول وصيه


Peace be upon you, O son of Allah’s Messenger and son of his successor.

جعفرالسلم عليك يا موالي موسى بن Peace be upon you, O my master Musa

son of Ja`far. لله وبركاتهٱورحمة

Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you.

لله ما حملكٱنك قد بلغت عن شهد اا I bear witness that you conveyed

faithfully that which Allah ordered You to convey,

ستودعكٱوحفظت ما safeguarded that which He entrusted

with you, لله ٱوحللت حلل


decided as lawful all that which Allah has deemed lawful,

للهٱوحرمت حرام decided as unlawful all that which

Allah has deemed unlawful,

للهٱحكام قمت اوا carried out the decrees of Allah,

للهٱوتلوت كتاب recited the Book of Allah,

للهٱى في جنب ذالٱوصبرت على endured harm for the sake of Allah,

جهاده لله حق ٱوجاهدت في and strove in the way of Allah as it

ought to be striven ليقينٱتاك حتى ا


until death came upon you. نك مضيتشهد اوا

I also bear witness that you passed away

لطاهرونٱى عليه آباؤك على ما مض carrying the same principles on which

your immaculate fathers لطيبون ٱجدادك وا

and pure forefathers لهادونٱوصياء الٱ

the successors, guides, لمهديونٱئمة الٱ

leaders, and rightly guided ones passed away.

على هدى لم تؤثر عمى


You never preferred blindness to true guidance

ولم تمل من حق إلى باطلand never slanted from right to wrong.

نك نصحت للهشهد اوا I also bear witness that you acted

sincerely to Allah, ينلمؤمنٱر ـيمولرسوله وال

to His Messenger, and to the Commander of the Faithful,

مانة الٱديت نك اوا fulfilled the trust,

لخيانة ٱجتنبت ٱو avoided betrayal,

لصلة ٱقمت وا


performed the prayers, لزكاةٱوآتيت

defrayed the poor-rate, لمعروفٱمرت بوا

enjoined the right, لمنكرٱونهيت عن

forbade the evil, لله مخلصاٱوعبدت

and served Allah earnestly محتسبا مجتهدا

and painstakingly, expecting His reward,

نـليقيٱتاك حتى ا until death came upon you.


هلهلسلم واٱلله عن ٱفجزاك So, may Allah reward you on behalf of

Islam and its people لجزاءٱشرف لجزاء واٱفضل ا

with the best reward and the most honoring reward.

لله زائراٱتيتك يا بن رسول ا I have come to you, O son of Allah’s

Messenger, visiting you, بحقك عارفا

recognizing your right, بفضلك امقر

admitting your precedence, لعلمك محتمل

knowing about your knowledgeability,


محتجبا بذمتكseeking shield with your inviolability,

عائذا بقبركseeking protection with your grave,

حكـيالئذا بضر resorting to your tomb,

للهٱمستشفعا بك إلى seeking your intercession with Allah,

وليائكمواليا ال declaring loyalty to your loyalists,

عدائكمعاديا ال incurring the animosity of your

enemies, نكابش مستبصرا


seeking insight of your standing نت عليهلذي اٱلهدى ٱوب

and true guidance you are leading to, عالما بضللة من خالفك

and having full acquaintance with the straying of those who dissent from you

لذي هم عليهٱلعمى ٱوب and the blindness they are following.

يمانت وي اببا Ransoms for you be my father, mother,

هليونفسي وا myself, my family members,

يي وولدومال my property, and my sons.


لله ٱيا بن رسول O son of Allah’s Messenger,

ىلله تعالٱتيتك متقربا بزيارتك إلى ا I have come to you seeking nearness to

Allah the All-exalted by visiting you ومستشفعا بك إليه

and seeking your intercession for me with Him;

شفع لي عند ربكٱف So, (please) intercede for me with your

Lord يليغفر لي ذنوب

so that He may forgive my sins, يويعفو عن جرم

pardon my offences,


يويتجاوز عن سيئات overlook my evildoings,

ييئاتي خطويمحو عن erase my wrongdoings,

لجنة ٱويدخلني allow me to enter Paradise,

هله ويتفضل علي بما هو ا endue me with favors that suit His

generosity, يبائويغفر لي وآل

and forgive me, my forefathers, يخواتي واولخوان

my brothers, my sister, لمؤمناتٱمنين ولمؤٱولجميع


and all believing men and women رض ومغاربهاالٱفي مشارق

in the east and west of the earth, بفضله وجوده ومنه

out of His favoring, magnanimity, and benevolence.
