September through June

September Spelling Menu Please make sure to turn in 3 activities each Friday! If you turn this in at the end of the month and have completed each activity at least once, you will get a special prize from me!

Write each word and circle the

vowels .

Draw a picture and hide the words in your picture.

Take a spelling

pre-test.

Create a tagxedo online and print, using your words.

Write each word and circle the consonants.

Create sentences with your words.

Look up your words in the

dictionary and write the definition.

Make a cartoon using your words.

Write your words 3

times each.

Crazy font- Write your words normal and then write them in a crazy

font!

Write your words in shaving cream – Parent signature

required

Type your list on the computer and

print.

October Spelling Menu

Please make sure to turn in 3 activities each Friday! If you turn this in at the end of the month and have completed each activity at least once, you will get a special prize from me!

Write your words in waves or zigzags.

Spelling Sentences.

Write your first and last name big on a piece of paper. Use

your spelling words to trace over the letters

of your name.

Military Spelling- Spell your word out loud while doing jumping

jacks. Parent signature

required.

Write each spelling word with a pen,

pencil or crayon.. Trace over the word at least 3 times. Use a different color each

time.

Write each word as many times as there are letters in the

word. Ex. Fire- 4 times each for 4 letters.

Draw a flower and write your words in the petals and the

leaves.

Write your spelling words together without spaces.

Ex. doorwindowgreen

Make a set of flashcards to study

your words.

Triangle Spelling Ex. Dog

Write the spelling words, leaving blank

spaces for all consonants. Ex. _a__ e_ for carpet

Word Scrabble – Connect spelling words by letters to create a

scrabble board

Create a story using all of your spelling words.

Draw a picture and use your spelling words to tell a story about the

picture.

Syllable Count- Say and clap the

syllables for the word. Write the number of syllables next to the

word.

Write words three times each.

Create sentences for your words.

Consonants and Vowels-

Write the word and underline the

consonants and circle the vowels.

Create a word search with your words- Use www.puzzlemaker.com

Cut your spelling words out of a magazine and

paste them on construction paper.

word as many times as

you can in one minute.

Trace around a cookie

cutter. Completely fill up the inside of the

shape with your words.

Write small!

Write your words neatly in pen.

Spelling Pre-Test

Cut letters out of a newspaper or

magazine to spell your words.

Have a parent scramble your words- Then

unscramble them Ex. Gdo- dog

Make a set of Go Fish! cards with your

spelling words. Play with a brother or sister, mom or dad.

Draw a snowman and write your words

inside.

ABC Order

Sort your words by their parts of

speech- Noun,. Verb, Adjective

Have a spelling bee with your words-

have your parent say the word and you

spell it – Parent signature required.

Study your spelling words with a family member- Signature Required.

Draw a four leaf clover and write

your words inside.

Write your spelling words, and then

write them backwards.

Scramble your spelling words and write the normal

version next to the scrambled.

Rainbow writing – Write your spelling

words using different colors of

the rainbow.
