INTRODUCTIONHello. We are Manuel Bautista and Alberto Jesús. We are eleven years old. We like playing football and spending time with friends friends of ours. We like pop music. We love festivals and the parties. We love

animals. Both of us, have pets in house. We study in Primary school called “Antonio Machado“. Which was really importaint Spanish poet and actually lived in Baeza too.

We live in Baeza (Jaén). Baeza is a cultural city, there are lots of different monuments from different historical stages. As a matter a fact, it is also protcted by UNESCO, which means that Baeza is declared as a World Heritage site. Besides Baeza, there is also another protected city called Úbeda, which is very near Baeza (10 km away), there you can see lots of religion monuments too, such as churches and cathedrals.The most famous architect in Jaén was Andrés de Vandelvira and we also celebrate his day as a work free day. We would recommend you to visit Jaén and Andalusia.

Andalusia is one of a regions that have a lot of monuments.

Jaén: Baeza and Ubeda:

One of our school trips was visiting Granada, and we must say was amazing. Specially we loved Alhambra (Granada).

Here, in this work, we are going to present you the most important monuments in Spain.

LA CATEDRAL DE LEÓN – CATHEDRAL IN LEONLa Catedral de León is a temple of Catholic worship. Was constructed between 1205-1301 and it’s in the middle of the way/path called „Camino de Santiago“ in Leon, which is the north of Spain. „Camino de Santiago“ is the Way of St. James or St. James's Way (commonly known by its name in Spanish: El Camino de Santiago) is the name of any of the pilgrimage routes (most commonly the Camino Francés or French route) to the shrine of the apostle St. James the Great in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain, where tradition has it that the remains of the saint are buried.

Cathedral in Leon has a gothic style, with French influence. It was built by different materials, for example: stone and glass and was built by Enrique of Burgos, but after he died, he was substituted by Juan Pérez.

ACUEDUCTO DE SEGOVIA - AQUEDUCTAqueduct of Segovia is a roman aqueduct, because was built by the romans between 69 to 97/98. In its time, it was used for transport water from one city to another. It’s very long, about one kilometer. You can see it in Segovia.

LA ALHAMBRA DE GRANADALa Alhambra de Granada is a muslim work, because it was constructed by the muslims while conquerd Spain. It’s one of the most visited monuments in Spain. As a matter a fact, if you want to visit it, you have to book a ticket way before coming. It’s very beautiful because the muslims were very detailed. It is constructed by stone. It is in Granada, in the south of Andalucía, in Spain. Around it, we found a lots of trees and mountains.

CIUDAD DE LAS ARTES Y LAS CIENCIAS IN VALENCIA - City of Arts and Sciences

Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in Valencia is an architectural, cultural and entertainment complex in the city of Valencia.

It was constructed by Santiago Calatrava, Félix Candela, Alberto Domingo and Carlos Lázaro in 1998.

It is formed by the Hemisfèric (IMAX cinema and digital projections), the Umbracle (garden gazebo and parking), the Science Museum Príncipe Felipe (an innovative center of interactive science), the Oceanographic, the Palau de les Arts Reina and the Agora, which gives the complex a multiuse space. It’s in Valencia.

SAGRADA FAMILIA

Sagrada Familia is a Catholic Basilica. It was constructed by Antoni Gaudí in the year 1882. It has a gothic style like the Cathedral of León. Gaudí rose the towers in order to make a beautiful and difficult front. In 2011 it was the most visit monument in Spain. It is in Barcelona, in the

north of Spain.

MEZQUITA DE CÓRDOBA

La Mezquita de Córdoba is an old mosque, it was built in 750.It has an arabic style. It was declared Cutural Heritage.It was constructed by Abd al- Rahman I, and it‘s in the middle of Córdoba. It’s amazing!

LA GIRALDALa Catedral de Santa María or Giralda is a cathedral of Sevilla.

Two thirds lower of tower corresponds to the minaret of the old mosque of this city.The third top of tower is a construction of the Christian era.In the top is found the largest weather vane of bronze of the Renaissance era.This weather vane gives the name to the monument because the weather vanes rotate that translated to spanish is “girar“ In 1928 it was declared Nacional Heritage and in 1987 it was declared World Heritage. It is Sevilla.

In Spain there are a lots castles. For examples the Emirales Castles and Caliphate, like Castle Calatayud (Zaragoza), the citadel of Mérida (Badajoz), Basque Castle (Toledo), The Castle Vacar (Córdoba) of Calatrava la Vieja (Ciudad Real) and especially the magnificent castle Gormaz (Soria).

And the Roman Castle, Consuegra (Toledo) and Calatrava la Nueva (Ciudad Real).
