Similarly, I liked the concepts from each piece of media. The music video concepts are what I have enjoyed the most and taken the most from, the films, both being musical, have also given me ideas such as shot types. For example, the panning shot in Control.

Tighten Up The Black Keys - Music VideoMy inspirations have mostly come from other artists similar to Ego Honey and then aspects of films and music videos I would like to use. Similarly, I liked the concepts from each piece of media. The music video concepts are what I have enjoyed the most and taken the most from, the films, both being musical, have also given me ideas such as shot types. For example, the panning shot in Control.

The R U Mine? music video was a huge inspiration for my music video. Aspects such as the use of handheld camera and shooting most of it in the car but also having a performance aspect also makes the music video to me very quirky. The use of the black and white filter put on throughout also is a nice aesthetic and suits the genre of the music. The dark mise en scene also promotes the genre also. Within this video I love the introduction which made me want to create an opening intro sequence to my music video. However, using it as a flashback rather than a radio production. The small imperfections throughout the video was also something I liked, however didnt think it would fit into my own video as mine is mostly story based, where as this is more performance.

Music Video

This clip from Scott Pilgrim vs The World inspired me as I like the comic book theme used throughout with subtitling things such as names. This is an aspect I would like to try and incorporate throughout my music video. Shots such as the close up zooms of the instruments is also something I would like to incorporate as it promotes closed spaces making everything very claustrophobic. The use of the panning zooms makes the clips seem more fluid and smooth which completely juxtaposes to the music style which is jagged. The yellow mise en scene makes the clips seem old and sickly, promoting the genre of music. Film

This clip from the film Control a film made about the life of Joy Division takes aspects similar to that of the R U Mine? video due to the use of the black and white filter, this makes the video seem edgy. I also like the use of one fluid shot used throughout most of the clip. I also really like how the music doesnt start until he closes the door and begins walking. I also liked the costume and the unexpected word HATE painted on the back.Film

Basket Case by Green Day was also a very inspirational video in my process of thinking of ideas for the music video. This music video gave me the inspiration to add on. I also really liked the chrome filter put over the shots, which juxtaposes from the lyrics which talk about mental health issues and the stereotypes to the punk genre, which is normally seen as dark. Shot wise the use of the crossfades also promotes the dreamlike concept throughout the video.Music Video

Music VideoThe Black Keys Tighten Up video inspired the introduction I have planned for the music video that I am creating as I like the use of the children In music video. With this one I like the sense of competition between the two boys for the girl. The soft focus used throughout is also effective as it creates a depth of field which forces the audience to focus on what is in focus and not what is going on within. The use of the chrome filter fits the childishness of the video and again completely contradicts the lyrics within the song.
