MOONDANCE

Introduction

Back in 2009 when I was starting to work out what kind of instructional content bass players just like you wanted to see, I produced a short se-ries of simplified bass line to song lessons with the intention of giving the kind of note-by-note instruction that I would have died for back in the day.

Those lessons originally had very basic PDFs with them.

However, when the website moved domains in early 2012 those PDFs got lost along the way. (Don’t ask me where, I don’t know. Nor does my tech guy.) So I’ve reconfigured them, and added them to the sequence of ‘Thank You’ lessons that you get when you subscribe to the free How To Play Bass Monthly Ezine.

So these lessons break down songs into constituent parts - intro, verse, chorus, bridge, etc - and teach an authentic line for each of those parts. Often the line is simplified so that beginners can play along to the origi-nal recording and play something that’s both within their ability range AND sounds like the original.

The PDFs are extremely basic - but if you use them along with the video lesson that they correlate to...you should be able to piece the parts to-gether.

These days my song tutorial lessons are more detailed and cover a much wider range of songs....but I often get emailed about the PDFs that mys-teriously vanished. And it was way past time that they got resurrected.
