CHALLENGE PROGRAMCHALLENGE PROGRAM

Challenge is OMED’s signature bridge program. Five-week, intensive summer program for

freshman. Immersed in the GT environment, living in a dorm,

taking classes from GT professors, social & academic workshops provided by upper-class GT students.

Core courses that simulate their first semester. Live in student counselors provide the students

with academic and social knowledge of the Tech environment in the form of workshops, field trips, and day-to-day interactions.

CHALLENGE PROGRAMCHALLENGE PROGRAM

OMED program cost is approximately $2,250 per student. Resources from state funding, GT Foundation support and

corporate solicitation. Challenge can be adapted for use at other institutions. Keys for adaption:

High level administrative support (resources and plan) Must be designed for the specific student needs of the

institution (which requires a thorough understanding of what the issues, concerns and skills are of the student population at the institution.

The model must be dynamic and flexible.
