Page 2: Moose Hunting In Winter Time

Moose Manual-Winter TimeGet down wind, and most of all, be as

patient as you can possibly can from here on

Go down wind and begin to hunt from downwind, going up

Stalking your moose from downwind for a kill

From here; move or snowshoe around to accommodate yourself, so you do not spook

the moose

Move to position, check wind and terrain, and snowshoe as quietly as possibly

Move according to wind and terrain very slowly, always on the lookout for sounds

etc.

Check tracks carefully

Move and stop at time 10 minute or 15 or more from 5 to 10 feet at a time, but very

slowly

For a great successful hunt, all that is needed is a great eye out (they maybe bed down) for

your moose

If follow these awesome simple steps, you should have great successful, and a very

enjoyable hunt by keeping a sharp eye out.

There is nothing better than taking down a moose the old fashion winter hunt,

Anishinabe style.

Moose Manual-Winter Hunting

Keep track of wind at least One day before you go out

Remember that a moose in one day feed down wind

Windy or not, you should be able to bag your moose

Tracking and stalking ethics techniques for great success

Find tracks early...preferably in the early morning hours, moose feed early.

Remember the one day prier techniques

Check current wind direction

After running into early signs of fresh tracks, like just minutes and not hours old.

Again remember the one day technique, so to count that you do bag your moose successfully

When tracking and stalking at this point, be patient

Check at all times wind and terrain, so wind don’t shift on you while you are tracking

Use the wind and terrain to your advantage at all times

When tracks are really fresh and chances are that you will see your moose

Moose Hunting excitement, looking forward to it.
