Pictures from July events you
might have missed….
Last Month’s Newsletter contained the article below stating what you needed to do to
continue receiving a copy of our Newsletter. Since many of you did not return the
form included as instructed, we are extending this deadline until August 15th. Since
we will only be printing extra copies for those who responded stating they did not
have access to email and they would pick up their copy at the Lodge, if you fail to
complete and return the attached form by August 15th, you will not receive a copy of
the Newsletter and you will not be able to pick up a copy at the Lodge.
As reported in the last two months’ Newsletters, the cost to print and mail out our monthly Newsletter has risen to approximately $6,000 per year. In an effort to save on expenses of our Lodge and to spend our funds wisely as possible, Lodge 1075 has approved going electronic with our newsletter and are asking all members to support this fiscally responsible effort. Here Is The Way The Transition to Electronic Will Work: There will be 3 ways in which our members can receive a Newsletter. First of all, any and all members who have an email address will be required to receive their Newsletter by email. You will not have an option of getting a printed copy from the Lodge. 2nd of all, for those members who do not have an email, there will be a newsletter printed for you which you may pick up at the Lodge. Third, for those members who do not have an email address and feel they are not able to come by the Lodge and pick up a copy of the Newsletter (such as being physically unable or live out of the local area), they can request a “Special Exception” which must be in writing and mailed or hand delivered to Administrator at the Lodge. These “Special Exceptions” will be reviewed by the LOOM Board of Officers who will make a decision (yes or no) if your Newsletter will be mailed to you. Here Is What You Need To Do: (1) For those members who are currently receiving their Newsletter by email (approximately 225), you will need to do nothing. (2) For those members who have an email address and are currently receiving your newsletter by mail, you can preferably email your email address to [email protected] and include your name and Moose ID # or you may fill out the form on the next page and mail or hand deliver the form to the Administrator at the Lodge by August 15, 2012; (3) For those members who do not have an email address to receive their Newsletter and desire to have one printed for you to pick up at the Lodge, you must fill out the form on the next page and either mail or hand deliver the form to the Administrator at the Lodge by August 15, 2012; (4) For those members who do not have an e-mail address and feel they are not able to come by the Lodge and pick up their copy (such as being physically unable or live out of the local area), you must complete the form on the next page explain request for a “Special Exception” by August 15, 2012 in order to have yours mailed to you. (4) For those members who do not wish to receive a Newsletter, please fill out the form on the next page and either mail or hand deliver the form to the Administrator at the Lodge by August 15, 2012. SPECIAL NOTE: Any member who does note fill out the form on the next page indicating your choice and return it by the deadline of August 15, 2012 will not be able to come by the Lodge and pick up a copy since we will only be printing copies for those who responded indicating they would come by the Lodge to pick up their copy. Any member who does not respond by the August 15st deadline will be assumed to not want a Newsletter. Remember, anyone can always go online and read and download a copy of our Newsletter at our website listed below.

Greetings from your Governor
The heat of summer and the thunderstorms are upon us. It is a great time to
come to your Lodge and enjoy the cool environment and good friendship.
Again this month we had an old air conditioner fail. The air conditioner
serves the Social Quarters. We had a little time when the air was not perfectly cool
in the Social Quarters, and I appreciate your tolerance. The unit has been replaced
and will serve us for a long time.
Thanks to everyone who helped make our Family Fun Day and Open House
a great success. The attendees had fun and had a great look at the good times in
our Lodge. The Board of Officers is making a concerted effort to increase the
number of events on Saturdays, and this event showed what can be done when
members step forward and make it happen.
In this Newsletter there is an article on the volunteers who help out in Bingo
week after week. We all need to thank them for their service. Bingo is the financial
life line of our Lodge and allows us to make the contributions we make to charities.
My thanks to all of them! We all need to give a special thanks to Joe Wyrick and
Carol Davis for making it all happen.
We continue to have a problem with getting enough volunteers to help with
the Wednesday and Friday dinners. We are burning out the few people who step
up each week. Whether it is running the cash register, helping in the kitchen,
serving, washing dishes or preparing the salad bar, we need your help!
Don’t forget that starting in September we will change how we send our
Newsletter each month. If you have not given Richard Williamson your email
address yet, you will not be receiving the Newsletter. Please get it done as soon as
possible as we want everyone to get the news and the schedule of the events of
the Lodge.
At the Moose International Convention in Tampa last month, the
membership voted down the drastic changes to the makeup and duties of the
Board of Officers. At least for the next year the current makeup and duties will
remain the same.
District 15 of the FBMA which includes the seven Lodges in the Panhandle
will be holding their annual picnic with fun and games on August 11th and 12th at the
Quincy Moose Lodge. The District meeting will be at 10:00 AM on August 11th and
will include the election of the new District officers for next year. Hopefully, we will
have a large turnout from Tallahassee.
Fraternally, Bob Greer, Governor
TALLAHASSEE MOOSE LODGE #1075 -MOOSE LEGION COMMITTEE
Our next Moose Legion Committee meeting will be August 6th at 6:30 PM. Lorraine
Lease will furnish the meat. Please bring a covered dish or desert.
In July we had a fun time at the Moose Legion Celebration at the Fort Walton Moose
Lodge. If you missed it, you missed fun and good fraternity with our friends from the
Panhandle Lodge members. The next Moose Legion Celebration will be October 13th and
14th at the Panama City Lodge. Make your plans to attend. It will be a great time!
I remind you to look at the Moose Legion bulletin board in the Social Quarters for the
Committee schedule of events. Volunteer to help the Committee Chairman.

A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR BINGO WORKERS
Without these dedicated Moose members, both men and women, our Bingo would not be able
to survive. We want to thank these individuals for all the hours they put in every week to keep
our bingo running.

From the Desk of the Senior Regent
The 124th International Moose Convention is in the books. It was very eventful, and our Chapter
was well-represented, and we are proud that Linda White was awarded her honor as Star
Recorder and Rita Stevens became a member of the College of Regents. We were also very
proud to watch Dawn Mackland receive the Shining Star Award as the International WOTM Co-
Worker of the Year. This is the highest award that the WOTM presents to a Co-Worker in
recognition of her service provided for the preceding year. Please extend your congratulations to
Linda, Rita, and Dawn for their well-deserved honors. Reports of the Convention presentations
are available on the Moose International website, and my personal report of all of the sessions I
attended is available in the WOTM office. Also thanks to Nancy Gebhart for making and
contributing the luggage tags, key chains, and packets of seeds which I handed out to and were
enjoyed by Co-Workers from all over the country.
Our Chapter needs your help. Thanks to the Co-workers who have stepped forward to accept
Officer and Committee Chairman positions, we have been able move forward, albeit rather
slowly, to develop a slate of activities for the year as there are still some Committee Chairman
vacancies. Additionally, our Secretary/Treasurer position has now become vacant and we have
an immediate need to fill this position. Please contact me or any WOTM Officer if you are
interested in what the vacancies are and if you would like to serve. There are many ways to be
involved in your Chapter, and participating in the Chapter Activity and Business meetings each
month is an opportunity to offer your suggestions and experiences for successful Chapter
projects and activities. Don’t forget and please try to attend our up-coming meetings on August
13th and the 27th. The secret word is “smile”.
A very successful activity has been the monthly Friday Night Fried Chicken dinners provided by
Chef Annette McIntosh and her crew. This has been very popular with our members and also a
great fundraiser for our Chapter. Thanks Annette and Crew!
As always, membership remains a vital element in our mission. Again this year, sponsor two
members and you will get your dues paid for the next year. Congratulations to Lorraine Lease
who has qualified for membership in the Moose 25 Club! Our newest WOTM members and their
sponsors are listed below. Please welcome them when you see them and also thank their
sponsors.

Greetings From Your Administrator,
WOW. Our Family Fun Day & Open House on Saturday July 21st was a huge success. There were
hundreds of Members, Guests and Kids who made an appearance at our Lodge. We had fun and games
that included a Horseshoe Tournament, Cornhole Tournament, and a water slide for the kids that provided
entertainment for everyone all afternoon. Then at 6:00 PM we had a old fashion fish fry for adults and hot
dogs for the kids in which we served over 100 dinners. At 7:00 PM a new band called CS Holt Blues
Revue provided music for everyone’s listening and dancing pleasure. I can honestly say by the numerous
comments I heard and in my own opinion, they are definitely one of the best bands we have had at the
Lodge. A big thank you goes out to Debbi Ramsey for arranging this band for us. Also a big thank you for
the volunteers (too many to name here and for fear I would leave someone out) who pitched in and
helped make this by far one of the biggest, if not the biggest, event we have had at our Lodge. And to top
it all off, we received 10+ Member Applications from guests who decided they wanted to become a part of
our Moose Family. Like I began this article, WOW.
For the 2nd Quarter, April May & June, we made $23,663 in profits which will all be donated to various
charities. As of this writing, the following donations have been made:
$4,750 – Moose Charities – Endowment Fund
$2,000 – Big Bend Hospice
$2,000 – Muscular Dystrophy Association
