2. Ethics

Ethics for computer users – i) Software Privacy : Use of pirated software violates the IT act 2000. ii) Unauthorized Access : Everyone has a right to information but it must be accessed from authentic sources.

Ethics for comp. Professionals - i) Purchase only legitimate software products through authorized channels. ii) After purchasing the software must installs and use it in accordance with the license agreement. iii) Newer, more advanced software can be developed.

Business – Ethics and Information Services – i) to keep information secured and confidential. ii) It is necessary to design information systems and place information in database. iii) Intellectual Property rights cover copyrights for many purposes. iv) To use copyright material it is necessary to take the owner’s permission.

3. Introduction to Cyber Law

It Act 2000 is an act provide legal recognition for transactions carried out by means of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and other means of electronic communication, commonly referred as ‘‘Electronic Commerce’’. IT Act 2000 relates to the electronic record, digital signature and security procedure. Where any security procedures has been applied to an electronic record at a specific point of time then such record shall be deemed to be a secure electronic record from such point to time of verification.

4. Law Regarding Software Piracy

The users who copy software without authorization are stealing someone else’s intellectual property. After purchasing, you will become the owner of the copyright. Purchasing means you are purchasing the right to use the software under certain restrictions imposed by the copyright owner/publisher. The precise rules are described in the documentation accompanying the software ii is called license. They state that you have the right to load the software on to a single computer and one make one backup copy. It also depends upon the terms and conditions of the purchase. If you copy, distribute or install the software in the ways that the license prohibits. You are violation the copyright law.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

There are ethical and economic concerns with these rights. Any piece of information can be extremely costly to produce at 1st. Once it is produced, that is easy to reproduce and to share with others. It means that copies can be made without destroying the original. This makes information difficult to safeguard, since, it is easily communicable.

4.1 CopyrightIt is an intellectual property right attached to original works in which the rights subsists with him. Copyright can be shared with others by assignment and licensing, which must be in writing and signed by the author. Licensing of partial rights is also permitted.

Is a software that everyone is free to copy, redistribute and modify. It is a programming that is offered at no cost. It is copyright software. We can’t use it for our personal programming work.
