on Sunday, June 4, at 2:00 in the HVL gymnasium.

The HVL Earth Science Class has been chosen to be part of the AREN Project in partnership with GLOBE and NASA.

AREN stands for Aerokats & Rover Education Network. As part of this NASA-funded STEM education program, we

are using state of the art electronic probeware & sensors to collect hydrologic & atmospheric data as an extension

of our long-running Rouge Education Project, which we have been involved with since 1990. We are also using a

kite-based Aerokat for aerial imaging.

Students with a minimum GPA of 3.5 are invited to apply, and are selected based on demonstrated service, leadership

& character. NHS members have been active in service & volunteer projects including assembling the Veteran's

bulletin board, organizing a Nigeria Missionary presentation for the student body & collecting over $500 for the

mission, helping with recruitment activities & the auction, helping out at Palabra de Vida, assisting with Sunday School

& VBS, blood drives, programs for disabled kids, parades, child care, Foster Closet, Habitat for Humanity, Police

Explorers, and more. All together the group tallied over 450 hours of service since last school year.

The newly inducted members are Nathan Prieskorn, Joey Nelson, Logan Affholter, Joshua Taube, Sophia Doehrer,

Lindsey Casmer & Steve Livingstone.
