We preview the Mass readings for the following Sunday and discuss how to apply their lessons to our daily lives. We also read and discuss good spiritual books to help us in this. We join the universal Church in praying for our needs and the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ. WEEKLY WISDOM

New Beginning – Session Five

God’s covenant with Noah is the renewal of His covenant with creation after He destroyed all wickedness in the deluge. The book of Genesis’ literary framework illustrates the two lineages: the righteous and the wicked generations leading up to the Tower of Babel. This pattern continues through the rest of scripture.

Come enjoy the short video presentation and good conversation with us between the Masses on Sunday morning or Monday night.

It is Not Too Late to Join Us!

The Women’s Book Circle meets at the church the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Our book for September/October/November is The Faith Club by Ranya Idiby, Suzanne Oliver, and Priscilla Warner. We have decided to split the reading up to enable better discussion. For September, we read chapters 1-6. For October, please read chapters 7-12, (or chapters 1-12 to catch up). Please join us. All are welcome!

Women’s Scripture Circle meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. We will be continuing our study of the Gospel of Luke, part two, using “Little Rock Scripture Study.” Don’t hesitate to join us any time.

For more information on the faith sharing circles, contact Marie Sexton at 718-4147.

“CREATION CARE CORNER:”

Need to Get Involved

Climate Change is something many or most people believe is happening on our Earth and that it is a threat to the human race. What do you believe? No matter what you believe, please join in the discussion of the evidence that Climate Change may be happening and express why you believe as you do.

Many young people around the earth are concerned that it is true and are concerned about how Climate Change will affect their lives. Recently, young people from around the Earth, in many countries, conducted rallies to highlight their belief that Climate Change is happening and threatens their future. They called on adults in power to take action to combat it. They indicated that they will continue to take actions to deal with it.

If you are a young person, you too need to get involved in the discussion and in the efforts to find and implement solutions. Our Church’s Environment Ministry (Holy Family Environment Ministry) needs young people to join in our efforts to deal with Climate Change and other factors that have an impact on the well-being of the Earth’s environment. So, how can you get involved?

The Environment Ministry is going to try to get school students from the Parish to join our Ministry and to form a group of their own and coordinate their efforts with the existing Ministry members. Please continue to read the Creation Care Corner each week to learn how we hope to proceed and succeed with this effort.
