is the smallest or minimal syntactic meaningful unit of language that can be a word or part of a word. so , it is a minimal unit of meaning or grammatical function .
Morpheme criteria :
it is a word or a meaningful part of a word. it cannot be divided into smaller meaningful
parts without violation of its meaning or without meaningless remainders.
it recur in different verbal environments with a relatively stable meaning.
