General ad SpecS:File Type:

Files must be sent as one of the following file types unless directed otherwise by one of the graphic designers:• PDF • EPS • TIFF (at least 200 dpi) • JPEG (at least 200 dpi)Text files can be sent in the body of an email or as an attachment. DO NOT send any graphics or photos embedded in a word document or build an ad as a word document. We cannot accept Microsoft Publisher or Qwark XPress documents. Please note that we use PCs and create our ad materials using the Adobe CS2 suite.

A content proof should be submitted with every ad.All proofs should be at 100% if possible. If ad is in CMYK, please provide a color proof.

Fonts:Fonts must be embedded in a PDF filePostscript Type 1 fonts only. We cannot accept TrueType fonts unless they are converted to outline in Illustrator or similar program.Type must not have styles (bold, italic, etc.) applied in the page layout program. The actual (bold or italic) font must be selected to avoid fonts defaulting.

ImaGeSPhotographic:

Should be saved in TIFF, EPS, or JPEG format and must not contain extra channels.The color space should be CMYK or Grayscale, not RGB. Images in black and white ads must be Grayscale.The resolution of images should be 300 dpi.Images should not contain embedded transfer functions or halftone screens.

Linework:Should be saved as a bitmap TIFF.Resolution at least 600 dpi.

Vector:(EPS logos, etc.)

Images must be embedded, not linked.Must have fonts converted to outline.

colorSNo RGB or Pantone color spaces.Must be set to CMYK modelIf ad is running as spot color, send color as CMYK mix, not the Pantone color.For CMYK ads, make sure the black is 100% black only and not registration black. Registration black is a mix of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black.Black and white ads must be Grayscale.
