Ministry Settlement Board Comment - October 2017

A Special Congregational Meeting was held following the combined parish service on the 29th October 2017 to discuss the recommendations from the Ministry Settlement Board.

Full background information was provided on the recommendations and progress to date. The draft parish profile working document had been available for comment during October. Notices inviting comment had been regularly included in the Bulletin and announcements. Thank you to parish folk who provided items of interest, photos or commented on the draft. Please read the MSB information provided regularly on gold paper. Spare additional copies can be collected from the foyer at Mosgiel.

After discussion the following recommendations were agreed.

1 That the parish request that the Ministry Settlement Board prepare a profile that can be given to interested persons based on the current draft profile.

2 That the Parish seek permission from the Southern Presbytery to call a Nationally Ordained Minister to a full time position.

3 That the Standard Terms of Call as defined in the PCANZ Manual be approved.

The Ministry Settlement Board met at 7 pm on 29th October to progress these decisions. Parish members of Ministry Settlement Board will meet with a small group of parish volunteers to progress the profile. A summary report from the Ministry Settlement Board with relevant supporting financial documentation has been sent to the Southern Presbytery seeking permission to call a Nationally Ordained Minister under the Standard Terms of Call.
